Louis Armstrong and his All-Stars are captured in rare form during these live recordings from 1956 and 1957, which are finally making their vinyl debut with this 180gram Pallas pressing. The album features a great collection of tunes which had become staples of Armstrong’s live shows, including his perennial opener, “Indiana”; the crowd favorite, “Tiger Rag”; the always joyful, “When The Saints Go Marching In”; and the great title-track, “Basin Street Blues”. Satch’s frontline band at the time boasted the very distinctive sounds of trombonist Trummy Young and clarinetist Ed Hall.

"London Collection, Volume 2" is the second installment of jazz luminary Thelonious Monk’s historic final recording session as a band leader. Captured in London during the "Giants Of Jazz" tour, the trio recording finds bassist Al McKibbon and drummer Art Blakey backing up the idiosyncratic pianist as they perform eight original Monk compositions including singular standouts "Evidence", "Criss Cross", "Nutty" and "Hackensack". The album was remastered from the original analog tapes by Grammy award winner Bernie Grundman for its first vinyl pressing in over 27 years for Record Store Day 2015 and now sees a wide release on 180 gram audiophile-grade black vinyl courtesy of ORG Music.

Beginning his career as an outlaw to the Nashville establishment, Johnny Cash has come to define country music over the last 40 years. At first, his unique mix of hillbilly music with gospel and blues made him a perfect fit at Sam Phillips' Sun records, where he recorded such classics as "Folsom Prison Blues" and "I Walk The Line".This was Johnny Cash's first album, recorded 1955-1957, released October 1957. It was also the first LP issued on Sam Phillips' Sun label. Cash had enrolled in a Memphis radio school after his military service, determined to become an announcer. On an impulse, he went into Sun Records Company one day and rather shyly asked Sun Records President Sam Phillips to audition him. Cash was signed to a deal and his music career launched. That was late 1955, and one year later, Cash was named the most promising country and western artist of the year in four separate polls. No one else even at Sun sounded like Cash nor did any other musicians have that wonderful freight train, chick-boom, chick-a-boom sound.

Recorded in January, 1970, "Red Clay" was Freddie Hubbard's first album for CTI. Hubbard was, next to Miles Davis, the most dramatic and far-reaching brass player of the past 60 years. He died at age 70 in December 2008, leaving a legacy of some 100 recordings under his own name and with everyone from Wes Montgomery and Art Blakey to Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Oscar Peterson, Quincy Jones, Dexter Gordon, George Benson, Sarah Vaughan, Max Roach, Count Basie, Ornette Coleman and many others. "Red Clay", while still firmly rooted in hard bop, hints at jazz-rock fusion that would take over the 1970's.Throughout the course of his luminous international career, Hubbard established a standard of pure sound that brass players aspire to today. Hubbard's explosive and lyrical virtuosity (first noted during a high school band performance in his hometown of Indianapolis) as well as his flow of brilliant, spontaneous ideas and determination to play loudest, hardest, fastest and most imaginatively, will never go out of style.

"The rare opportunity to hear Milt Jackson step out from behind his familiar vibraphones to play guitar and piano, and partner Ray Charles, in addition to manning the 88s, blow on the alto saxophone for two numbers, should not be missed. Particularly on this transparent LP version, which portrays the 1957 collaboration within a huge, naturally vibrant soundstage.Mastered from the original master tapes, ORG Music's edition lays bare the relaxed, bluesy, often-boppish jazz on display from these two giants. With stellar support, the two headliners treat this affair as a backroom woodshedding session, replete with all the passion, freedom, and fun such get-togethers contain."
