P.E.A.R.L. is no stranger to the Weekend Circuit inner circle. Having released his ‘Desolation’ EP on the London label in 2015, his unique and refreshing productions slot comfortably in to the label's sonic aesthetic. Pulsating, submerged field recordings and natural sounds bristle next to menacingly hewn tones, rhythms and textures, creating a strange and disorientating environment across 4 parts.EP opener 'Body Arched I' encapsulates this alien-esque landscape, beckoning us into the P.E.A.R.L. sound-world. Slowly unwinding drones gradually draw us in, layers of almost synthetic jungle sounds, field recordings and eerie atmospherics create images of unseen landscapes in our minds. One gets the impression that is merely the calm before the storm, it will be a long, dark and revealing night. Second part 'Body Arched II' ups the ante considerably, a blistering assault on the senses. Cavernous kick-drums dance with repeated synth lines and synewaves creating a narcotic, unforgiving and swirling miasma of epic proportions.'Body Arched III' opens the second side of this formidable slab of vinyl. The energy levels are still high, the mood somewhat foreboding. Unapologetic, urgent and oozing kinetic energy this 3rd movement continues on a journey that will sweep you deeper into the blackest night, all systems failed, flying blind. In the right hands a piece like this can wield colossal power. The fourth and final part of 'Body Arched' taps into a more psychedelic vein, a minimalistic mantra-esque piece that continually spirals to the very outer edges of restraint. Listen closely and you can hear the shamans feet kicking up dust in the clearing. A pensive and sparse piece and the perfect note on which P.E.A.R.L. will leave us bewildered.

Release:2018 / EU – Original
Genre:Electronic / Dance
P.E.A.R.L. is launching the fifteenth installment of his Falling Ethics series with two versions of a serious club destroyer that has been released on the label back in the early days of Falling Ethics. Sorrows has been reflipped to a 2018 version that is sounding modern, large and in sync with the current aesthetics in techno music. While this version can be located on the B-side, on the A-side we find a larger than life CUB version (Karl O'Conner & Simon Shreeve) that will definitely turn some heads over the next few months. Reworking classics is not always needed but in this case, it's a welcome addition completely in harmony with the times.

There was a time when to die was something slightly different from what it is today. Back in the last days of the middle age, some hidden monk was concerned about how to die properly, according to the catholic standarts of that era, so he wrote a book that was a cornerstone in that period. This has been the leitmotiv and ispiration in the concept that drives this album, the Ars Moriendi book from 1415, a book that gave some clues about how to die properly, avoiding lack of faith, despair, impatience, avarice or spiritual pride, all those actually track titles in this compendium.Album starts with Impatience a short atmospheric drone sets the path to post industrial mayhem, based on a continuous and obsessive metallic sequence that drives the angst over a dirty rhythm workout until the textures go on top after several bars.Rules of behaviour breaks the beat into metallic hits as starting point, then more percussive layers add to the main beat until the dark pads take over mixing hate with beauty on a grey canvas.Despair return to adrenaline, icreasing the tempo, running unstoppable on a relentless sequence with skeleton beats as a driver.Speculum acts as a sequel from the first track, same sequence different rhythm, extending the anxiety feeling but with a cleaner groove, again a few elements make everything run smoothly no fillers, just tension.Lack of faith keeps on with the beat as fundamental component, based on a cemented kick and breathing components that grow during the running time.Avarice returns to harsh kicks and martial sincopation having distortion as the main element until Fm percussions shine on top.Spiritual Pride is the adrenaline shot in this album, obessive dry sequences, harsh kicks and razor hats in a direct floor burner.Closing the travel, The search for identity goes underwater: cavernous landscapes and absence of brightness with a pulsating sub frequency doing the low end, while drones and obscure sound design make the rest.

Equinox EP

That time when the sun crosses the plane of the earth's equator, making night and day of approximately equal length all over the earth. 'Equinox' is P.E.A.R.L. his debut on Float Records. As known for his aesthetic grooves we are proud to add this Berlin based Spanish producer to our catalogue. This three track EP does exactly what the title implies. Equinox I hits it right in the centre, with vibes perfect for either sunset or sunrise. The hypnotic sequence will cut through your brain and makes sure you don't even know if it's night or day. Equinox II represents the night. Again an incredible solid sequence, but with a raw edge assisted by a haunting soundscape doing justice to the dark. No one is safe for this killer. When day time arrives you will be introduced to Equinox III. This seems to be the most friendly track, but don't let it fool you. A smart percussive rhythm does the magic and creates the hypnotic experience you can expect from P.E.A.R.L.
