The recording on this release, a show performed in October ’75 by the Mac-McVie-McVie- Buckingham-Nicks line up, three months after the release of their first album together, is an early illustration of the new Fleetwood Mac in their initial phase. Their eponymously titled album had not at this point charted and the single ‘Over My Head’ had only reached No. 20 on Billboard. However, listening to this broadcast concert today it is not difficult to understand how it was that within another year Fleetwood Mac would be among the biggest rock bands on the planet.

Featuring an eclectic and far reaching set-list, including tracks from all her previous albums, as well as three cuts from Gone Again. Covers of Dylan’s ‘Wicked Messenger’, The Doors’ ‘Crystal Ship’, and Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’ are all welcome additions to the show and uniquely performed, and they complete a gig which found Patti back out in front of an audience headlining for the first time in almost a decade, and doing so as though she’d never been away.

Following years of public speculation, the Eagles formally reunited in 1994, 14 years after splitting up in 1980. The ensuing tour spawned the live album, Hell Freezes Over, which debuted at number one on the Billboard album chart. It included four new studio songs, with ‘Get Over It’ and ‘Love Will Keep Us Alive’ both becoming Top 40 hits. The album - for which the live tracks were recorded at an MTV Special on 24th April ’94 - proved as successful as the tour, selling six million copies in the U.S. The following night - 25th April 1994 - the Eagles returned to Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA, where they had recorded the previous night, and a second show was filmed and indeed transmitted on television. For the first time on vinyl, this release features this relaxed and quite extraordinary event in its entirety. Captured across two instalments, this delightful and rare performance will prove a must have item for Eagles fans everywhere.

Highlighting Blackfoot’s changing sound during this period, these fascinating and hugely enjoyable performances, presented here in excellent audio quality, will delight fans of this long-standing and highly regarded rock outfit who, some 45 years after first coming together, continue to record and perform today.

The Byrds performances across the weekend of the 1st and 2nd November 1968 at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco were performed at a time of great change and uncertainty for the band. Gram Parsons, who had joined a faltering line up in early ’68, had departed prior to a disastrous tour of South Africa for which McGuinn notably had received much criticism. The country rock album they had recorded with Gram, Sweetheart of the Rodeo, alienated many Byrds fans and equally attracted hostility from the traditional country music community. It remains their poorest performing record, despite its status in later years as the first proper country rock album. Clarence White (Guitar) and Gene Parsons (Drums - no relation) were both brought in around this time, but then Chris Hillman quit! The Avalon show was the gig first performed by the line-up of McGuinn, White, Gene Parsons and new recruit John York on bass and harmony vocals (very apparent on this recording), who had only been a Byrd for about a week at the time of this show.

In 1994, NIN set out on their notorious Self Destruct Tour with shows often descending into violence and chaos, as the members routinely smashed equipment - and often themselves too - at the climax of each performance. Perhaps the most memorable event however was NIN’s set at Woodstock ’94 in Saugerties, New York on Saturday 13th August, where the group played alongside Joe Cocker, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Cypress Hill and numerous others. Often dubbed “Mudstock”, NIN took to the stage drenched and dirty, and attracted the largest crowd of the entire weekend. Broadcast live on FM radio and Pay-Per-View television to an audience of over 24 million, this recording includes the entire performance given by the band on this momentous occasion. Despite Reznor’s later dissatisfaction with the results, it remains the stuff of legend. With exceptional renditions of ‘March Of The Pigs’, ‘Closer’ and ‘Happiness Is Slavery’ alongside other classics, this brutal and uncompromising show is captured here in the highest possible quality and will form a welcome addition to the collections of fans everywhere.

The recording on this deluxe vinyl release comes from a show Cash gave at Irving Plaza in New York a few months before the release of Unchained, and features a number of cuts from the album mixed with many classic oldies. Delivering a dynamic performance, Cash was at this time at the high point of his rebooted career, and this recording proves that it was not Johnny who had lost any of the old magic, but merely that his old recording company had failed to properly promote or provide resources – and that when a new man with bright ideas worked alongside Johnny Cash, The Man In Black was just as popular with 1990s audiences as he had been with music fans in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

This recording - captured at The Boston Club on the 3rd December 1980 and broadcast to the surrounding area by local FM radio - proves that despite all obstacles, Aerosmith were still fully capable of performing a dynamic show. Playing numerous cuts from the new album as well as older classics like ‘Walk This Way,’ ‘Rats In The Cellar’ and ‘Big Ten Inch Record,’ the sheer energy exhibited by the band clearly demonstrates that the spark was still alive, which no doubt played an integral role in their revival as the 1980s progressed.

Before Dr. Dre and DJ Yella produced Straight Out Of Compton, before Greg Mack and the KDAY Traffic Jams radio show and before Ruthless Records went multi-platinum, it was a teenage Dr. Dre (then known as The Master of Mixology) making amazing mixes of early rap tracks on cassette as far back as 1985. These were the days of The Radiotron, the ‘Cabbage Patch’ dance, and the b-boy inspired hip-hop documentary Breakin’ and Enterin’.Produced in bulk on cassette and sold at open air markets across Los Angeles, the Dr. Dre mixtapes were ostensibly 4-track ‘mash-ups’ of all the newest and dopest records of the time. They had simple photocopied covers but they were raw... and they were incredible. Dre’s tapes were sold at swap meets, which were just organized yard sales held in giant parking lots, like The Roadium. However, it was at these swap meets that Dr. Dre first made a name for himself by simply adding another dimension to the new west coast style of hip hop. The greatest thing about these tapes was that there were so many jams crammed onto each side, yet only a small percentage of them were actually listed on the covers. This was the next level of mixing capabilities – layers upon layers on top of each other that was so technically advanced at the time that it was hard to figure out exactly how Dre created them. The choice of tracks and the passion in which the mixes were created is what made them classic. The Roadium Swap Meet Mixes have an untreated and unprocessed sound that will bring you back to the mid-1980s at a time when hip hop was just getting started.

Limited clear vinyl edition. To capitalise on their early success, RATM boosted their touring efforts, playing 185 shows through 1992 and 1993, a tour which remains the group’s most extensive to date. These included their now legendary performance at the 1993 Lollapalooza festival and a plethora of gigs supporting Suicidal Tendencies across Europe. This Deluxe 2LP release features two Rage shows, both the subject of FM radio broadcasts and both released here on vinyl for the first time. The first performance was made on the penultimate date of the above noted tour when the band played at the Universal Amphitheatre on 12th December 1993. The second was recorded at Irvine Meadows on 17th June 1995, while the group were recording their sophomore album Evil Empire, a release that became equally as successful as their debut.

By 1980 Frank Zappa had endured one of the most turbulent periods of his career. The working relationship between Zappa and his long-time manager Herb Cohen had irreparably broken down due to disagreements over their jointly owned DiscReet label, and he had also parted ways with Warner Brothers after a dispute concerning the four disc Läther project, and the label releasing his material against his wishes, which had resulted in multiple lawsuits. Blocked from issuing his own music for over a year, Zappa’s main source of income came from extensive touring which he did with a number of small, rock-oriented groups throughout the late 1970s. Included here too as bonus cuts are a selection of tracks from the same tour - broadcast from Paris and Munich respectively - as well as an extended 1980 interview with Mike Siegel for Boston TV show ‘Five All Night, Live All Night’, in which a typically sarcastic yet droll Zappa answers questions from the host and the viewers about his family life, his recent legal troubles and his latest releases. Making in completion a full 160 minute recording across two instalments, in quite excellent audio quality throughout, this release will prove a delight for fans and a must have item to add to any decent Zappa collection.

Featuring a majestic set of J.J. Cale favourites taken from the albums he had released by this juncture in his career, along with a couple of cuts which at the time had yet to grace a J.J. studio record, all performed in an extended format, radically different from the album versions. This recording illustrates perfectly where J.J. Cale was musically by the end of 1975 and shows the direction in which he was moving for the next phase of his marvelous career.

Between August 1975 and May 1976, the Allman Brothers Band played to some of the biggest crowds of their career. Gradually, however, the members of the band grew apart during these tours, with sound checks and rehearsals apparently becoming a thing of the past. The shows were considered lacklustre and the members were excessive in their drug use. As a result, the band finally broke up. In 1978 moves were afoot to reunite the band, augmented by new guitarist Dan Toler and bassist David Goldflies, to record the much celebrated Enlightened Rogues album, and return to touring. The album was released in February and the recording featured here with the new line-up came on the night before New Year’s Eve of the same year - for the record, fact fans, on the actual NYE, the band were performing in New Haven, Connecticut. The new line up is captured here in superb revitalised form, at the Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY on the 30th December 1979, a show broadcast live by WLIR-FM, and presented here complete across 2 instalments.

Following stupendous international success throughout the 1980s, the early ‘90s were an oddly subdued time for Bruce Springsteen. He had not put out a new album since ‘87’s Tunnel Of Love, had dissolved his usual cohorts, the E Street Band, in 1989, and married long time backing singer Patti Scialfa. Now living in L.A. and working with session musicians, there had been grumblings from the Springsteen faithful by the time Human Touch and Lucky Town were released simultaneously on 31st March 1992. The World Tour performed in support of these records - which ran for a full 12 months, from June 1992 and took in shows across the US, Canada and Europe, was preceded by a ‘dress rehearsal broadcast’ – a live performance in front of an invited audience and competition winners, recorded at the Hollywood Center Studios in L.A., 10 days before the tour proper kicked off in Stockholm.

If there was one band whose appearance at and support for the Bill Graham Memorial Concert - held in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on November 3rd 1991, just 8 days after Bill and his girlfriend, Melissa Gold, plus pilot Steve Kahn, were killed in a fatal helicopter accident - was not just assured but all but mandatory, it was The Grateful Dead. The Dead’s set concluded with ‘Sunshine Daydream’ but two encores followed - a deeply affecting version of ‘Forever Young’ with Neil Young fronting the group, and then a bittersweet ‘Touch of Grey’. The actual finale of the afternoon featured many of the artists who had performed getting onto the stage for a rousing and spirited ‘Amazing Grace’, ending a sad day during which emotions were clearly mixed, but one that had ultimately proven joyous and – as it had been tagged – one full of laughter, love and music.

Hot on the heels of The Band’s third album, Stage Fright, released in August 1970, the guys went straight back on tour again, having only recently come off the road from promoting their second, eponymous record. By now both critical darlings and the name other rock stars loved to drop, the new tour proved their most successful yet. So when they played the 3,700 capacity performance venue, The Syria Mosque, located in the Oakland neighbourhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, not only did the group fill every last seat, but the entire show was broadcast across the USA on syndicated FM radio stations. Featuring a setlist comprising numbers from The Band’s three albums so far, alongside a raucous rendition of Little Richard’s ‘Slippin’ & Slidin’’, this recording, released here for the first time, reads like a live greatest hits record, featuring as it does the very finest material these five musical overachievers ever performed.

The Rio show was undertaken with a typical festival set made up of a fine array of oldies and classics, with a single cut from Oh Mercy thrown into the mix for good measure. But, as this release reveals, nevertheless Bob and band showered the enormous gathering with a delightful, relaxed performance with Dylan in fine voice and the entire 80+ minute performance is featured here on vinyl for the first time.

The legendary Bon Scott joined AC/DC in September 1974, a year or so after the group had been founded by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young in Melbourne, Australia. And it was just three short months later that they performed their first show for FM radio broadcast, on New Year’s Eve that same year, at the Festival Hall in Melbourne. This recording is now included in full on this deluxe vinyl release, alongside a number of bonus cuts that the group performed for Australian TV between 1976 and 1978. The release is completed with some early interviews AC/DC gave in London in 1976 and 1977 during which they discuss their ambitions and hopes for the future.

A compilation of songs that inspired Prince. An innovator and a musical genius bar none, Prince nevertheless took huge influence, both before and during his musical career, from the music, production and compositions of others. He was of course well versed in jazz, soul R’n’B, funk and black music generally from an early age, but garnered a fully eclectic taste which was equally informed by Joni Mitchell and Todd Rundgren as it was by James Brown and George Clinton.

South London Ordnance debuts on Parachute. The British producer marks his first release of 2017 with Parallel Window, a four track EP featuring three wrought-iron originals and remix from Token & Blueprint affiliate, Sigha. Driven and direct, the music marries rolling low end with high energy drum machine percussion and wide angle highs - for the most part eschewing anxious, heads-down austerity in favour of a more uplifting, trancelike approach - spread across multiple BPM’s. Despite the heady, crushed finish - shifts in tone are subtle, developing over prolonged periods, with careful modulation drawing sounds in and out of the sonic hinterland sporadically to create a comfortable atmospheric balance between peak-time dance-floor urgency and hazy mid-set moments. On his remix, Sigha hones in on this sentiment - lifting the caustic lead bassline from Parallel Window and augmenting it with trademark cavernous low end, skittering highs & a rolling lead arp to create a hypnotic, half-time dirge.

The 19th June’73 saw Miles Davis take to the stage at Shinjuku Kohseinenkin Kaikan in Tokyo, Japan, backed by a band of Dave Liebman on saxophone and flute, guitarists Pete Cosey and Reggie Lucas, Michael Henderson on electric bass, Al Foster on drums and James Mtume Forman on percussion. Playing two sets, both of which are included here, Davis’ band are on interstellar form. Playing a selection of previously-recorded numbers and extended jams, during a show broadcast live across the region by a local FM station in superb quality, the music performed by the famed trumpeter and his majestic band at this superb show pushes the musical boundaries even further than Davis had at any time in the past.

This Guns n' Roses recording - broadcast live from Perkins Palace in Pasadena, CA, on 30th December 1987 - took place just a few months following the release of "Appetite for destruction", when the boys were still relatively unknown outside of their hometown. With the entire band in exceptional form throughout the performance here, this set is a rare example of Guns playing an early show while already clearly a musical force to be reckoned with.

This 80 minute show is a true delight to hear and a little piece of Springsteen history that few fans are even aware exists.

First off, you can’t fault the line-up; all 5 original members (Brian, Carl, Dennis, Al & Mike) plus early recruit Bruce Johnston, who, on Independence Day 1981, got together for a beautifully laid back and hugely enjoyable show. This broadcast recording of the entire Beach Boys’ set finds the group on good form, clearly delighted to have Brian back playing live. 70's gem ‘Sail On Sailor’ feature's alongside the great and good, and the whole run through is nothing if not the band at their late period best - not long before we would never witness Dennis Wilson again on the drums for this quite superb collective.

This deluxe LP release contains two complete Alice In Chains shows, one apiece from the tours supporting the group’s first and second records, often considered two of the most important albums in modern American alternative rock. The first is taken from a performance at The La Reina Sheraton Hotel in L.A. on 15th September 1990, shortly after the release of Facelift, while the second was captured at The Hollywood Palladium on 15th December 1992, hot on the heels of their Dirt album. Broadcast over local FM radio at the highest possible audio quality, and featuring such classics as ‘Man In The Box’, ‘Sea Of Sorrow’, ‘We Die Young’ and ‘Would?’, this collection will not only be a welcome addition for the Alice In Chains faithful, but equally a fascinating insight into the golden years of the grunge movement itself.

Having almost single-handedly resurrected the blues movement via his Hendrix-esque guitar work, powerful vocals and perfectly crafted songs, the trials and tribulations of Stevie Ray Vaughan are well documented. Despite his premature passing, recordings such as the one included on this LP help to keep the Stevie Ray Vaughan flame alive. Taken from a radio broadcast aired by WMMR FM, of a show performed at the Mann Music Centre in Philadelphia on 30th June 1987, this set clearly demonstrates why the legend of Stevie Ray and Double Trouble has been so enduring. Touring seven months after the release of his then last album, Live Alive - a live album which Vaughan himself was admittedly dissatisfied with due to its poor recording, lacklustre playing and countless overdubs – this show finds the band on absolute top form. In addition, this is almost certainly the finest quality live audio recording available by this quite extraordinary performer.

For the past four years Francesco Leali kept busy running Parachute alongside co-owners Manfredi Romano and Thomas Feriero, producing under different monikers and touring the globe as half of CW/A. Finally back as Clockwork, Leali reveals a five track EP featuring some of his rugged music to date. A briery shift into foggier territories where Leali explores layered sound-design and broken rhythms, something he had only hinted in his previous work. “Online Entity” depicts Leali’s hindrance with modern society’s social networking obsession. ‘In contrast to what these services were actually intended for’, Leali explains, ‘They seem to have impacted a lot of people negatively, resulting in unnecessary resentments, misinformation and feelings of proximity when these tools can easily alienate you from reality’. ‘Constantly worrying about how you want people to perceive you is absurd already, but for many of us this constant sharing has become the only way to achieve happiness, to be satisfied. In an era where all of this is getting out of hand it’s essential to remind yourself of the things that truly shape you as an individual. With Online Entity I aimed for feelings of release, mutating resentments into something positive - more physical. I imagined it as a soundtrack to an escape from these very situations.’ The release showcases this approach with five club-ready numbers filled with calculated, pounding drums and gloomy atmospheres, with only rare glimpses of hope scattered throughout. To round things up we mobilised fellow Parachute affiliate Ayarcana and Serbian Techno pro Lag who both deliver two startling interpretations of ‘Escape Sequence’ and ‘Rumination’.

Anyone alive during the 1990s will be aware of the unstoppable musical force that was Alanis Morissette during that decade. Having been a teen dance-pop sensation back in her native Canada, her first two domestic-only albums - Alanis (1991) and Now Is The Time (1992) had gone Platinum and Gold respectively in her homeland, and produced a number of Top 40 singles. The show included here, recorded and broadcast live over local FM radio in July that year, demonstrates perfectly the girl’s signature mezzo-soprano at its live best. With a setlist made up largely of alternative versions of tracks from JLP, this double LP release illustrates well why this exceptionally talented artist became such a runaway success, seemingly overnight. This release is recorded from a live FM broadcast recorded in Rome, Italy.

Having officially disbanded in late 1967 following a hugely successful career in the UK, The Walker Brothers were persuaded by management to undertake a short tour of Japan together in the opening month of 1968. The songs performed can be described best as a motley collection of numbers from the group’s back catalogue, plus a single strike from Scott and a rag-bag selection of covers. That being said, the results prove to be a thoroughly enjoyable live run through of both the big hits and some of the finest cuts from the Brothers’ four, often underrated, albums together.
