The Ocean's past two years of existence have been some of the most exhilarating in their eleven year history. The band completed tours in North America and Europe, as is common for many bands, but they added Russia, including Siberia, as well as China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Australia to the collage of stamps in their passports.Opeth, Dillinger Escape Plan, Between The Buried and Me and Devin Townsend are only some of the bands that The Ocean have supported on tour during their campaign to promote Heliocentric and Anthropocentric. The band's tireless efforts have afforded them one of the most truly worldwide fan bases in heavy music. Now, after returning to Berlin, Switzerland (an oft-used inside joking, pointing out the member's origins), The Ocean have resurfaced with what could be their deepest and most trailblazing piece of work to date, Pelagial: a progressive musical journey, written, recorded, mixed and to-be-performed-live as one single 53- minutes piece of music.

Tokyo, Japan based 4-piece Instrumental rock band, Mono was originally formed in 1999. Their unique approach of blending orchestral arrangements and shoegaze guitar noise in their music has been held in extremely high regard; so much so, that the band’s musicianship can no longer be sustained by rock music alone and was praised by British music magazine NME as “This is music for the Gods”. Among their fans, they are revered as one of the best live bands in rock.Through echoes of beautiful, gentle soft strings, and the sudden surge of sound explosions, Mono delivers their ninth album, Requiem For Hell. Unlike their previous album, The Last Dawn / Rays of Darkness - which re-visited much of their earlier sound - Mono once again introduce strings, showing further dynamics and a wider range of colour in their sounds. Written entirely by guitarist Takaakira ‘Taka’ Goto, the five songs that comprise Requiem For Hell perfectly portray the signature orchestrationlike range and dynamics of Mono.

Mono evolved into an orchestral rock band and performed in prestigious venues in New York, London and Tokyo, with renowned orchestras by their sides. Following a wave of creative peaks, Mono then regrouped and planned where to go next. This departure comes in the form of the albums 'The Last Dawn' and 'Rays Of Darkness'. Together but different. Side by side but opposites. The twin albums were recorded concurrently, yet conceptually and creatively, they are worlds apart. They are two sides to a story, but they remain hand in hand. Themes that have permeated Mono's previous output are revisited through the conjoined albums. It's about hope and hopelessness, love and loss, immense joy and unspeakable pain...

Emil Amos is not only the drummer of Om, Grails, Lilacs & Champagne, and singer and guitarist of Holy Sons, but a true multiinstrumentalist. 'Filmmusik' is the first album he has ever issued under his own name. After a career that's stretched over 50 records over the last 20 years on many esteemed underground labels (Drag City, Thrill Jockey, Temporary Residence), Amos brings together all of his signature sonic styles under one record's concept. The vastly different sounds of his four bands are blended into one kaleidoscopic union that plays like a soundtrack to a very lonely and suspicious European suspense film from the 70's. Two of the songs were actually featured in the film "Suit of Lights", due for release next year. Fans of GRAILS get two moody piano ballads that were recorded for their new record "Chalice Hymnal" and a track intended for use in a Chase Scene. Lilacs & Champagne listeners get several tracks that didn't fit onto their last LP, and Holy Sons fans get a couple vocal-driven songs like "Bed of Nails II", a song that's been recorded many times and played live, but never released. The meticulously labored-over artwork was done by Eric Adrian Lee who is known for designing various re-issues for Morricone and Stelvio Cipriani for Death Waltz. All in all, this is a real record-diggers fantasy LP!

Takaakira "Taka" Goto is a composer based in Tokyo, Japan, who is also known as the lead guitarist and composer for Japanese instrumental rock band MONO. MONO was originally formed in 1999 and has released a total of 9 albums since, including a live album of a performance with the New York Symphony Orchestra. Their intense and dynamic live performances have stunned audiences across the globe, from North America to Europe, Asia and Oceania, and the band continues to expand their loyal following every year. After 16 years of leading MONO, Taka feels it is now the right time to start his solo career. His debut album "Classical Punk and Echoes Under the Beauty" was originally written and recorded in 2003, but never finished or released at the time. Taka's approach to music is undoubtedly original. Much like the album title insinuates, his music carries the dignity and grandeur of classical music, with its big orchestrations of piano and strings... yet at the same time, there is the rawness and the high-energy impact of punk rock, with wails of electric guitars and shrouds of noise. There is also a strong filmscore feel to all of his work – and Taka is, of course, no newby to the world of soundtracks. He took part in scoring such films as Snow Angels (2007 / Director: David Gordon Green), Kami No Kodomotachi Wa Mina Odoru / All God's Children Can Dance (2010 / Writer: Haruki Murakami; Director: Robert Logevall) and the WOWOW TV Drama Kanata No Ko (2013 / Director: Tatsushi Omori). MONO have collaborated with the legendary Japanese animator Koji Morimoto (Akira, The Animatrix) for a video trailer, and have recently contributed the soundtrack to the short film Where We Begin, which was named after a MONO song. The song was also used in a video blog featuring Japanese mountaineer, Nobukazu Kurik, while he attempted to climb Broad Peak mountain on the Pakistan/China border. "Classical Punk and Echoes Under the Beauty" was also strongly inspired by Danish film producer Lars von Trier, and especially by his movie 'Breaking the Waves' from 1996. violins, violas and cellos in my head.“ Taka's vision for his solo career and future compositions is ambitious, and he has plans to be involved in more cinematic arts from movies to TV shows.
