Poverty Is Violence kicks off 2017 with a 4 track EP written by a well known soldier of the house / techno scene, Having notched up releases on numerous go to labels, he has established himself as one of the most consistent and talented artists of the last decade.Covariant (his pseudonym for Poverty Is Violence) takes the tougher driving elements of forward thinking techno and merges it with the house sensibilities of early Chicago and New York. He delivers 3 storming tracks that come with a killer remix from Poverty's other secret warrior of the dance, XXX.A1 Hum, combines killer distorted synth lines with huge pounding kicks driving along at a rate of knots, and having been extensively road tested it’s safe to say it kicks hard on the floor.A2 Devils Drums is a psychedelic drum work out that sounds like it was produced by the dark lord himself. Rolling distorted hats, snares and kicks tear your face off like John Travolta on crystal meth. Proper food for the dance floor.B1 Hum (XXX remix) XXX returns to Poverty with his killer synth antics. Waves of heaviness attack your senses like soldiers storming a beach –it’s pure dance floor murder cultivated and designed to destroy the floor and your mind. B2. Druggy Drum is a pounding melodic acid workout. A funked out backline and drugged out rolling beats keep the workout chugging whilst spacey atmospherics encompass you as the track rolls forward with an abstract, ever developing Mills-esque riff - killer stuff. This ep is already supported by those in the know including, Delta Funktion , DJ Pete, john heckle, Bas Mooy, Ben Sims, Charlton, Shifted, 65D Mavericks, Kamikaze Space Program, James Ruskin, Simon Shreeve / Monic, Stranger, J.Tjin, Damcase, 138 and many more.Limited to 300 hand-stamped white labels.

Poverty is violence return once more deliberately shaking up the place and blurring the house / techno divide, label owners Tapirus aka Rotterdams underground techno hero Charlton and Nick Dunton of legendary techno label Surface and 65D Mavericks fame serve up a split EP... Nick throws an early stone into the water as he makes his comeback with the new and deliberately quirky D-56M side-project fusing techno and oddball Chi-Town weirdness, incorporating concepts from Zamyatin’s We, he turns in two hybrid ghetto bangers.First up Charles takes his cue from early acid house, fusing it with techno sensibilities and turning styles on their heads with end time basses, insane bleeps and left of centre attitude. A1 is a tough rolling acidic banger with cutting beats. The super killer A2 which has been getting hammered around Europe the last year is a highlight - pure manicness and not for the faint hearted. A3 is reminiscent of Larry Heard’s early output - DX7 bass lines, beautiful melodies and lush strings fuse to create a searching acid house vibe.On the flip AA1's French Cats is full of jazz influence... super rolling basses and Wurlitzer keys helping to carve a fresh house sound that takes Randomer-esque influences and jacks them to hell. AA2 is the super smooth but anarchic Question Authority full of sweet melodies, strings, chords, rolling old skool riffs and a super sub bass fused with dark voices – it’s purist Non-conformity with attitude, swing and message. This EP is already getting caned by the more adventurous DJs on the circuit - Stand for something or fall for anything is the labels tag-line and you can expect more heavy hitters blurring the genre lines soon with a super-secretive project already in production from one of the world’s top players...

A new Surface related label from Charlton Ravenberg aka Tapirus and Surface boss Nick Dunton aka 65D Mavericks / Ever Vivid focusing on the more experimental side of industrial / acid / house / techno and electroThe first EP comes from the highly talented Dutch producer Vincent Koreman aka Drvg Cvltvre and comes backed with a heavy remix from Sound Signature’s mighty SpecterHaving been in various black metal and punk bands Drvg Cvltvre has also produced electronic music for the last 20 years appearing on labels like Bunker and KK Records from the Nineties onwards under his legendary Ra-x moniker amongst others while recently appearing on shipwrec. He also has material forthcoming on the mysterious MOS offshoot COS MOS - his quality of output speaks for itself…Preferring to operate in the shadows and opting for hard work and experimentalism rather than a hollow pose, Vincent works with a variety of home made instruments and digital aliasing devices and has managed to craft a sound that is really something rather special, touching on the early blueprints of acid house, techno and industrial but somehow managing to channel it into something entirely different.Showing a uniqueness in sound and a love for the craft that can at times be sadly lacking in the music industry, Drvg Cvltvre has come up with a postmodern apocalyptic sound of a future past…Lovingly cut and mastered straight to disc in the original analogue signal only technique by Simon Davey at The Exchange VinylLimited to 300 hand stamped white labels.
