Buck Gooter - 100 Bells
Buck Gooter
100 Bells
LP | 2017 | US | Original (Ramp Local)
23,99 €*
Release:2017 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Buck Gooter have the uncanny ability to maintain the energy usually reserved for bands on their first or second record. How many albums in are they now? My shelf says well over ten. It is pretty amazing how hard they are able to bring it every single time. As we listeners go further down the road with the Goot, we are rewarded for our attentions by the band’s new effort, 100 Bells. It is, in many ways, much like previous BG slabs, where BILLY and TERRY are all in, crackling with energy and taking great issue with the universe, but this time around there is a streamlined, mission specific adherence to the percussion tracks that nail down many of the songs that are indicative of a band that knows exactly what they want to do. Long time fans know that meteor lodging in the earth velocity beats have always been a primary propellant in Goot world, but on 100 Bells Billy and Terry are confidently in control of this awesome element and use it to great advantage. The rhythm tracks, along with well placed guitar tracks on 100 Bells make for some of the best music Buck Gooter has ever put across.
Pat Keen - Albatross

Albatross
LP | 2017 | US | Original (Ramp Local)
19,99 €*
Release:2017 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Pat Keen's Albatross LP is an 11-track exercise in stretching the conventions of homemade-pop. Currently a member of Chicago-based, avant-rock outfit Wei Zhongle and formerly a touring member of Ryan Power 's band and Guerilla Toss, the 24-year old musician has spent the past few years touring the country and honing his craft while contributing to a thriving, nationwide experimental-rock scene. Now Minneapolis-based, Albatross shows Pat Keen moving from self-produced 4-track tape recording (as on 2015's Leaving EP) toward a more fleshed-out vision of a personal brand of bedroom-rock. Recorded throughout 2016, Albatross is performed almost entirely by Keen himself. The record began to take shape during the tail end of a 4-month long retreat in New Hampshire, during which time Keen studied guitar and music theory in Brattleboro, VT with Chris Weisman. Featuring guest vocals from the likes of ADELYN ROSE's ADDIE STREI and other American midwest-based songwriters, Pat Keen's music hints at an underlying pop-sensibility while not shying from experimental influences. The instrumental texture of the record is highly nuanced, as Keen employs all possible timbres from an accompaniment of acoustic and electric guitars, bass and drums. Albatross also shows Keen making a concerted effort to deliver a virtuosic vocal performance.
Nina Ryser - I Hope All Of Your Dreams Come True

I Hope All Of Your Dreams Come True
Tape | 2016 | US | Original (Ramp Local)
7,99 €*
Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
When she's not playing with Palberta & several other projects (Old Maybe, Date, Shimmer) in Philly's burgeoning music scene, Nina Ryser is recording music alone in her room for hours on end. The result of that solitude are whimsical, ominous, disfigured melodies & dreamscapes. "I Hope All Of Your Dreams Come True" is her most instrumentally developed collection yet, featuring crooked duets & conversations between vocal melodies & keyboard compositions. She also features Palberta member, Anina IvryBlock (contributes 3 different covers of "Abdicate", a song from "Abacus of Love" by The Cradle), Dark World rapper, Gods Wisdom (vocals on "Just Met"), & member of Data, Gabe Adels (clarinet on "Waiting Place"). Nina's music is as truly bizarre of a listen, as it is beautiful!
Big Neck Police - Don't Eat My Friends
Big Neck Police
Don't Eat My Friends
Tape | 2016 | US | Original (Ramp Local)
7,99 €*
Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Big Neck Police is a Brooklyn/ Philadelphia based rock band made up of Mac Kelly, Hugo Stanley, & Paco Cathcart. A loud, caustic "power-trio" with little going on in the way of effects ("texture"), Hugo (drums), Mac (bass), & Paco (gtr) find their peculiar dynamism instead in the subversion of the punk orthodoxies they appear to revel in - specifically, through improvisation. Big Neck Police music is, rather, a series of open-ended gestures. Bands sometimes will write in a "noise-improv" part to spice up a song; for Big Neck, every part of every song seems to contain a reckless element that lusts toward that formlessness. At a good Big Neck Police show, there is not a moment when chaos is not impending, lurking. "Don't Eat My Friends" is the culmination.

Sunk Heaven is the solo music project of Austin Sley Julian (Sediment Club), based out of NYC. Sunk Heaven is building & breaking instruments to construct a temporary outcry. Sunk deep into a metallic disfigurement. "Julian's recordings never descend into randomness. Despite its complete unpredictability, the album presents its noise dispatches as instances of deliberate disfiguration. Everything is on purpose, & everything is fucked." - Tiny Mix Tapes.

Genre:Rock / Indie
Compilation featuring Guerilla Toss, The Sediment Club, Cloud Becomes Your Hand, Banned Books, Palberta & more. Jake Saunders (aka: The Colonel Presents) originally set out to pay homage to the great No Wave compilation, & quickly realized it couldn't be done in our day & age, w/ the web molding musicians into a selective hard drive of influences which guide their compositions & performances. We have been given a gift; an ocean of untamed information, art, & experiences now at the tips of our fingers. "Eclectic Sessions" is a demonstration of what 15 musical artists can do with that gift.

7 years after their genesis, Banned Books return into a staple position in Philly's experimental noise scene. Sewn through a constant embedded darkness, Banned Books is fueled by a transcendent & fantastical whimsy. Still taking influence from personal heroes, Deerhoof & Lightning Bolt, they approach their songs with a breathtaking energy, locking into tight, rock grooves before falling into free improv madness. There's a constant battle between strange, meticulously crafted structures & abrasive, improvisatory bursts of energy. The record is an experiment in control & release & the ability to ride the line right between the two

Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
"Temperate Lands" is Paco Cathcart's 16th release as The Cradle since the genesis of the project almost 2 years ago. The work represents the continuation of Cathcart's attempts, beginning with last June's "Drink the Water" (Feeding Tube Records), to integrate the project's core methodology of recording-as-compositional-process into a more traditional songwriting approach & a comparatively cleaner, higher-definition sonic landscape. The idiosyncratically syncretic nature of the long-form, improvisation-heavy pieces, as well as the less relentlessly experimental sides of Cathcart are both here, but perhaps ultimately more poetic than ever. Features guest spots from members of THE GRADIENTS & PALBERTA.
