Two of the most exciting bands to emerge out of Brazil in recent times, are joining forces in a primal and playful live experience from 2019. Crossing over the borders of psychedelic rock, these two bands create something truly unique; a land of concrete techno and percussive punk, as they become one entity in the making.

Two of the European rock underground’s most interesting bands are coming together for an old-fashioned split release, each contributing three songs.

On this self-titled EP, the bands are presenting two sides of the same coin. Okkultokrati delivers huge, fist-pumping, goth-tinged arena metal, conjuring the spirit of Judas Priest and THE Sisters OF Mercy, while still being dipped in the same unmistakably Norwegian “black” sound as is their signum. As heavy as it is, there is always a kraut-y, hypnotic element present. Maggot Heart on the other hand, are stripped down and raw, serving what is their punkiest material to date, while still keeping the hook-y choruses and noise rock riffs flowing. Swerving between Patti Smith, Poison Idea and Voivod - their crossover sound is cemented by solid songwriting.

Comes with a printed innersleeve and double-sided poster.

The city as a throbbing organism is one of the fundamental themes of Maggot Heart, explored in several songs on City Girls (2017) and Dusk to Dusk (2018). On Mercy Machine (2020), the machinery of night runs on the steam of many bodies. Locked inside a prison of flesh the spirit will not soar, only in unity with the body can divine alchemy be achieved. Mercy Machine is a rock album about sex, death and the pursuit of freedom.

This album was written and arranged by Linnéa Olsson and her band Uno Bruniusson (drums) and Olivia Airey (bass), as well as on-and-off collaborator Gottfrid Åhman, at the end of 2019. It was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden with award-winning producer Martin "Konie" Ehrencrona in February 2020. It highlights Olsson's catchy, but strangely jarring songwriting in ten cutting tracks, swerving back and forth on the rock genre-spectrum. May or may not appeal to fans of Voivod, The Stooges and The Jesus Lizard.
