Release:2020 / UK – Original
Genre:Hip Hop
For a period of time, Hackney seemed to be the epicentre of British Hip hop. From the mid 2000s there was a raw, grimey sound, reminiscent of classic New York street rap, eminating from East London, epitomised by the emergence of Cyrus Malachi, Nasheron & M9 AKA Triple Darkness. This movement culminated in the Triple Darkness album, the Heresy Presents Anethema. Anathema is regarded as one of the few classic Hip Hop albums to have emerged from the British scene, and sounds as fresh today as it did when it was released over a decade ago. Since then, Cyrus has released music with the UK supergroup, Orphans of Cush and added a second Triple Darkness album to his arsenal with the refomed extended squad, as well as releasing a project with the Nottingham

legend Cappo. This is all added to his impressive solo back catalogue with notable releases such as Ancient Future and his Isis Papers series. Cyrus is undoubtedly one of the premier lyricists in Hip Hop today. With an exceptionally visual style of storytelling, Cyrus Malachi strikes an authoritative figure, dropping gems with his unmistakable style and flow. The Blind Watchmaker sees Cyrus team up with veteran UK producer Evil Ed and 12 Bit master DJ Drinks along with a host of features from Neter Rootz, Ric Branson, Teslas Ghost, Ray Vendetta & Lone Ninja. It drops 28/09/20 on Revorg Records. With collectors item CD & cassette, there is also vinyl on the way. If it ain’t Revorg, why bother?

Who Shit In The Sandpit?
LP | 2020 | UK | Original (Revorg)
19,99 €*
Release:2020 / UK – Original
Genre:Hip Hop
Where the previous 184 & Big Toast album was a bluntly worded denunciation of the zeitgeist over a classic Hip Hop soundtrack, Who Shit in The Sandpit takes a sonic direction more akin to 184’s Trip-Hoppy electronic-folk collective, Button Eyes. With more

melodious production and a greater range in the vocal tones and styles of delivery, it sees the duo step outside of their comfort zones and attempt something less restricted by the confines of their genre. The title is an abstract and Toast-esque expression referring to how the world the next generation stand to inherit (the Sandpit) is being destroyed by the greed and stupidity of older generations (the shit). It is at least a partial departure from the nihilistic and misanthropic themes on previous projects, perhaps a consequence of Toast’s desire to leave a better world for his firstborn, who arrived during the making of the project. While no album which closes on a track about a nuclear holocaust can be described as light, Who Shit in the Sandpit? has moments of real humour, providing comic relief from the more pointed social and political statements elsewhere. Fellow Tuff Boy, The Strange Neighbour, joins Toast on “Anyone Order a Tough Guy?”, a verbal skewering of wannabe hardmen, and the offensively absurd “F.W.L.”. Sometime Sleaford Mods vocalist John Paul contributes his own unique brand of observational poetry to “Backpack” and Croydon’s Breezy Lee elevates every track she features on with her sumptuously soulful vocals. Halo Jones adds the finishing touches with his distorted guitar riffs,

providing further musicality to an already boundary- pushing Hip Hop album.
Phoenix Da Icefire & The Strange Neighbour - Cinematic
Phoenix Da Icefire & The Strange Neighbour
Cinematic
Tape | 2020 | UK | Original (Revorg)

Release:2020 / UK – Original
Genre:Hip Hop
An album nearly a decade in the making, Cinematic is a collaboration between Revorg Records founder The Strange Neighbour and Triple Darkness lyricist Phoenix Da Icefire. As the title suggests, there is a cinematic theme running throughout the release with each track paying tribute to a different genre of film. The production carries the energy of each cinematic style, whether the claustrophobic tension of a Psychological Thriller or the lavish grandeur on Monarch. Phoenix is joined by an incredible supporting cast of rappers, most notably on the action-packed Expendables, which sees a heavyweight line-up akin to the action-star vehicle of the same name. This who’s who of the UK scene brings together the biggest names from all sides of the rap scene, with High Focus, People’s Army, Triple Darkness and Terra Firma all represented. Some of the top Underground US acts also make their presence felt, with features from Copywrite and, perhaps most notably, the Wisemen’s Kevlaar 7 who contributed an incredible verse shortly before his untimely passing in 2014. Even during the early stages of the album’s recording, there was a lot of interest and offers from established labels. It was, in the end, a major factor in the formation of Revorg records as a way to give the album the release it deserved. While it has been a slightly longer journey than initially imagined to get to this point, the album feels very much of it’s time and will no doubt be seen as a very important release for UK Hip Hop in general

A year on from the dropping the Gatecrasherz debut, Uninvited, Revorg Records present 'Call It On' by Jack Diggs & Big Toast.
40% of Gatecrasherz, 66% of TPS, the duo are no strangers to working alongside each other. The 2 brothers have been collaborating for well over a decade. However, this is their first release as a duo.

Jack Diggs and Big Toast are two thought-provoking, intelligent lyricists.
This album is neither thought-provoking nor intelligent.

Kicking back against the self-righteous narcissisism of the moment, it is an odyssey of South London Boozers, dusty Boom Bap beats and bone dry humour.
