Rhythm Section International proudly presents it’s 8th offering from local boys Chaos in the CBD. Born in New Zealand, but based in Peckham for the last few years (literally just around the corner from Henry Wu and Bradley Zero), these brothers have made a real mark on the scene here in London town and with their latest set of productions are set to take this message further afield. Having already released internationally on labels such as ClekClekBoom (Paris), Hot Haus (London) and Amadeus (Montreal), the duo’s approach to production has matured immeasurably in the last year, as is evident in the restrained potency and poetic subtlety on the 4 tracks across this accomplished EP, Midnight in Peckham. Taking it’s title from the locale the boys have come to know as home, the record channels a delicate late night energy - equally indebted to the hypnotic incantations of Ron Trent as it is to the hazy suburban atmospheres of Burial. These 4 classic cuts pay homage to deep house in it’s truest sense - at once sublime, melancholy and meditative. Chaos in the CBD have clearly taken their cue from the mid-west masters of the genre but have not been afraid to let their own influences and environ creep in, and in doing so have created something that is unmistakablely London and infact, timeless.

Bradley met Duke Hugh in Amsterdam, when he handed him a green USB stick after a show. He played the promos in the empty club and the first track immediately grabbed his attention - he knew it was something special. When he remembered the hook to Green Leaf the next morning he signed the release almost instantly. Each song has its own essence, there is absolutely no filler and the entire double pack sits together as a perfect whole. Flirting with aspects of broken beat, Jazz, hip hop and dreamy electronica - Duke Hugh winds together a most idiosyncratic release equally at home on the peak time dancefloor as it would be for a long road trip. Canvas is a big statement from an artist who's here to stay.

Following on from a hugely successful 2014, culminating in a nomination for ‘Label of the Year’ at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide awards, Rhythm Section International is back with a real statement of intent for 2015. Stepping up for RS004 is Canadian producer ‘Local Artist’, who delivers a 3 track EP via his native Vancouver, his second release following a stunning debut on Anthony Naples’ Proibito label. On the Feelings EP, Local Artist presents 3 very different tracks, tied together by a decidedly dubwise approach to production. From the glaring dub siren in ‘feelings (digital dub)’ to the hazy step of ‘Place I’ via the uplifting shuffle of Ozone, the record is as versatile as it is effective.

Melbourne has a lot to answer for. For anyone admiring the city’s music scene from afar it would seem fair to wonder if there might be something in the water. 30/70 are the latest collective to emerge from this buzzing scene. ‘Elevate’ is a sublime statement; at once a cry for help and a call to arms, it balances delicate poetry and potent aggression with ease - all of this done with a beguiling pop sensibility. This collection of songs, their second studio effort after their debut LP, ‘Cold Radish Coma', is set to elevate them to the international stage. Under the management of Wondercore Island (Hiatus Kaiyote, Oscar Key Sung, Daniel Merriweather) and with the release set to drop on Bradley Zero's Rhythm Section Intl. (Al Dobson Jr, Silent Jay x Jace XL, Henry Wu), 30/70 are ready to take their message from Northcote to the world.

Rhythm Section look to Poland once more for two of the most uplifting tracks of the year. Earth Trax (known for his productions as The Phantom & one half of Ptaki) and newcomer Newborn Junior pull two absolute classics out of the bag here that do what they say on the tin. Both Sax Track and Flute Track centre around ecstatic MIDI melodies on (you guessed it) Saxophone and Flute! Falling somewhere between the late night deep house excursions of Ron Trent (circa Morning Factory era) and more recent retro-leaning breakbeat driven output from the Pender Street Steppers et al, the Sax & Flute EP is a masterclass in sustain-release. Euphoria Guaranteed - or your money back!

Release:2015 / UK – Original

As spring dawns, Rhythm Section International go from Local Artist to a pair of very ‘local’ artists - Peckham’s very own Chris Watson + Chris Coupe; otherwise known as FYI CHRIS , who present the ‘Back In The Millennium’ EP as the labels 5th offering. The EP was born after a rather hazy late night listening session at Rhythm Section HQ, where bossman Bradley Zero was instantly beguiled by the Duo’s hypnotic and rhythmically complex arrangements. The record begins abrasively with the trance-inducing mechanical stutter of 'back in the millennium', before shuffling into downbeat number ‘Jeru' and then picks things up with the peak time groove of ‘need i say more’ before bringing us back down to earth with the melancholic acid bump of 'dedication’.

After a blistering end to 2016, Rhythm Section INTL begins its 2017 schedule with a second outing from Peckham duo FYI Chris.Sitting firmly left of centre, these 4 tracks manage the very difficult task of being both unconventional and highly functional.Highly recommended for fans of similarly difficult-to-categorise artists such as Red Axes, Axel Boman and Baba Stiltz.

Coming straight out of melbourne with plentiful attitude, Producer/multi-instrumentalist Silentjay teams up with fellow Hiatus Kaiyote backing vocalist, Jace XL to present 'Sacrifice', a mini album of epic proportions. At once sincere and heartfelt, the songs do not shy away from the playful influence of 90s RnB - a sound that is a defining influence on this EP, which despite clocking in at just under 30 minutes, attains a level of artistry and conceptual cohesiveness that many artists could only dream of. Another VERY serious record, from an impossibly fertile Melbourne Scene that is quickly becoming the envy of the world.

Al Dobson Jr. returns to Rhythm Section International with his debut full length LP. Spread over 28 tracks and clocking in at just under one hour, this body of work provides a glimpse into the mind of one of the UK’s most talented, enigmatic producers.Al Dobson’s debut mini album marked the inauguration of Bradley Zero’s fledgling label back in 2014, proving to be a breath of fresh air to the london scene with it’s loose, undefinable sound and unique approach to production. As a newcomer, Al Dobson Jr.’s music didn’t remain a secret for long, with major global tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Theo Parrish, Dego, Alex Nut and Osunlade being early adopters. As with other key releases on 22a and Izwid, it didn’t take long for Rye Lane Volume 1 to go from obscure debut to cult classic, propelling the artist and the label onto the international platform. At once a continuation and evolution of the sound, Rye Lane Volumes II & III offers a deeper exploration into the Al Dobson Jr universe, moving with ease through tempos and textures but never losing that effortless magic that makes ADJ stand out from the crowd.
