Channeling his background in classical music, Suuns' Ben Shemie combines string fractals, manipulated vocals, and synth-powered chaos to bridge the universes of past, present, and future. Over the course of ten tracks, Shemie chronicles a wandering soul tangled in its own dark orbit, searching for meaning in a world of stardust and astral mirages. ¬Breathing life into Shemie's orchestral maneuvers was the Molinari String Quartet, one of Canada's most celebrated contemporary ensembles. Recording the album's ten tracks in two single-takes, the urgency and dynamism of these compositions can be heard as much felt. The listener can sense the stuttering pulse of Shemie, flanked by five amplifiers and wading in electronic bedlam, as the Molinari Quartet switchbacks measures of strings and chimes.¬ Sometimes, the only way to make sense of the world is to travel to its absolute end. While Shemie's image of a faraway universe is equal parts inspiring and chaotic, he assures the listener _ everything and everyone is exactly as it should.

Bongos, bouzouki and Farfisa organ galore! The explosive cocktail of rock'n'roll and traditional Tsifteteli hailing from 1960's Greece is still alive thanks to Deli Teli: the Marseille-based quartet performs a string of forgotten hits that once set Athens on fire, with a contagious energy and a subtle dose of Mediterranean drama.

The fourth album by Pinhead Gunpowder. Features haunting cover art by Aaron Cometbus, and a cover of the Replacements’ “Achin’ to Be.” Originally released in 1999 on Adeline Records, this 9-song LP—featuring two previously unreleased tracks—is cut at 45 RPM

The tenth installment of Fat Wreck’s Live in a Dive series takes us back over 30 years to Eindhoven, Holland. The date is May 12, 1989, not too long before Montecito, CA punks RKL will call it quits (for the first time, anyway). The 17- song set—a good chunk of which is culled from 1987’s album Rock ’n Roll Nightmare—was recorded at famed Eindhoven squat-turned-venue De Effenaar, and is beautifully ragged and raw. Although the band would get back together, things were never quite the same after the members went their separate ways the first time. As such, this record is a document of one of the last points before everything took a dive, of a band holding it together—incredibly well, it has to be said—before everything unraveled. And even though you can’t really hear that tension, when compared to the Double Live in Berlin live album, recorded the year before this one, there does seem to be an extra sense of urgency in these songs. They’re more primal and more ferocious, more intense and more nihilistic. Above all, though, they still sound fun as hell. RKL’s Live in a Dive album—which features incredible art by longtime RKL cover artist Dan Sites —isn’t just a pure representation of the band in all its twisted, untamed glory. It’s not just the sound of a band about to fall off the cliff edge. It also serves as a bittersweet tribute to both Manzullo and Sears, who died in 2005 and 2006 respectively. These songs capture both members in their element—onstage, doing what they love, surrounded by people who love what they do. Just listen to the frantic run-through of “Break the Camel’s Back,” the guttural desperation of “Hangover,” the nervous energy of “Blocked Out,” the blistering frenzy of “Rock N Roll Nightmare.” It’s one of the last times—and certainly the last time caught on tape—that the band would sound this imperfectly perfect, this happily carefree. Live in a Dive is an integral piece to any RKL fan’s collection.

Everyone’s favorite (and only existing) punk rock all-star cover band ME First AND THE Gimme GimmeS are back with their latest offering, Go Down Under. Instead of enhancing (or disgracing, depending on who you ask) one specific genre of music, as is their typical approach, this time they’ve decided to take on the music of an entire continent. As you may have guessed from the album’s title, Australia is the lucky recipient of the Gimmes latest musical makeover. Crikey! Five tracks from proud Aussies the likes of Inxs, Olivia Newton-John, and Air Supply, are belted out with the boisterous fun-loving style that only the Gimmes know how to pull off. Didgeridoos be damned, these tunes are all brimming with ripping guitar leads, up-tempo rhythms, and the signature silky smooth vocals of Spike Slawson. Go Down Under is their first newly recorded material since 2006 and from the opening riff it’s blatantly clear the guys haven’t lost a step. Just to add to the excitement, the vinyl version of the album is available for the first time on 10- inch vinyl! Originally released as a double 7”.

We'll Go Riding On The Hearses is the first album from Australia's Quivers. Much like their latest release, Golden Doubt, the album is a jangle rock beautify, with tons of melodies and harmonies in the best indie pop tradition. Quivers is a band formed in Hobart, Tasmania and We’ll Go Riding On The Hearses was first a tape release before the band moved to Melbourne and released again on vinyl for Australia’s Hotel Motel label.

Bleeding edge Texas industrialists, Street Sects have completed their long running Gentrification single project with Gentrification V: White Washed. Gentrification, is a five part serial album that began eight years ago as a series of self-released seven inches. Now that your streets have been drained of all color and character, now that the last of the generational holdouts have been forced beneath the wheels, now that history has been torn up, rewritten, injected with fillers, plied with White Claw, passed around and shared by members of the board...are you sleeping more soundly?

Overview:
Foam On A Wave is proud to present the first international issue of this chameleonic, shapeshifting record, from one of Hungary's most prolific musician and film composers, János Másik. At times it calls to mind 23 Skidoo, Talking Heads and The Pop Group, at others it sits in its own corner of the room.
1989 was a revolutionary year. For many in the West the fall of the Berlin Wall marked the Autumn of Nations; the End of History and the triumph of progress. In Hungary, the year saw the Round Table Talks establish a new multi-party democracy and the effective end of communist rule after 40 years - Rendszerváltás; 'regime change'.
It's hard to ignore these cataclysms while listening to Trance Balance. After all, its initial release was on Hungaropop, 'one of the first privately owned, independent labels launched after the liberalization of the market in Warsaw Pact-era Hungary' (we highly recommend delving further into their remarkable catalogue). Is music always an expression of the shifting political landscape? Or does it exist beyond it?
These are all questions that percolate as the needle drops. Freud, a ghost from the Dual-Monarchy, runs in streams through the album sleeve. Trance Balance itself is reminiscent of a trip, transporting the individual through a semi-conscious dreamland. Synthesisers woosh and swirl overhead. The percussion is propulsive. Voices take on the guise of characters, guide-like, beckoning. There are Brechtian interludes where the musical fourth wall is punctured. At points, the listener awakes to playful refrains, bohemian folk song and calypso detours. This is a masterwork of musical surrealism - an act of pure intuition - free and honest. A manifesto in all but words. We'll let you decide how much it has to do with politics.

“Brain stem cracking scum-punk recorded tersely in the basement of my home. After a notoriously frustrating eon, the knee-jerk song path was aggressive and hooky. This is an homage to the punk bands we grew up on—the weirdos and art freaks that piqued our interests and pointed us on the trail head to here / now. Bad times make for strong music is something I agree with. I would say that is evident by the past few years of output from the underground. Transmissions have been all over the map: scanning…searching...sweeping out in the darkness looking for a foot hold.“[OSEES] A Foul From represents some of our most savage and primal instincts. Fight or flight. And the importance of a sense of humor in the darkest hour. Nothing wrong with keeping it snappy in the meantime. For fans of Rudimentary Peni, Crass, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Screamers, Abwarts, Stooges and all things aggressively tilted towards your face. You can lean back but don’t flinch…it’s a brief foray into the exhausting pogo pit, so stiffen your back and jerk with your knees. Enjoy.” —John Dwyer

Ise Shozo and Okubo Kazuhisa formed the folk duo Kaze in 1975 and recorded their 4th original album Umikaze in LA. It was their first recording overseas. Local musicians such as R.A.Martin and Geffrey Hales participated in the recording, as well as Mizutani Kimio, Sato Jun, Takebe Hideaki, Moriya Jun, and others from Japan. In the relaxed atmosphere with a good rapport between the members, the album adopted the California sound. It became a masterpiece reflecting the newest trends in music, such as fusion and crossover. Originally released in 1977, the album consists of 11 tracks including Umikaze with its beautiful intro riff.

The 5th album by Kaze, Moony Night was recorded in LA, following the 4th album Umikaze. The recording process with local musicians such as Steve Forman and Chuck Findley, and the same members as the previous album from Japan (Mizutani, Sato, Takebe, Moriya) added a new taste and successfully created a new Kaze sound.

After releasing this masterpiece in the history of city pop, Kaze entered a fallow period.

Since its formation in 1969, Soul Media had been advocating a fusion of jazz and rock. The next step along that line was this album, 'In the Groove,' recorded in 1973.

The sharpness of jazz is brought to the forefront, with rock melting in to give it an edge, and funk injected to imbue it with power and resilience. The result was a strong, sophisticated, and simply 'cool music' that could not be categorized within existing genres such as jazz rock, jazz funk, or fusion.

This work is also described as a response to The Crusaders, a group that Jiro Inagaki was paying attention to at the time. His aim was right on target. With this album, Soul Media acquired a 'sophisticated black feeling' and headed for their final destination, 'Funky Stuff.'

A long story short: In 1989 recording begins at Daniel Lanois’ Grant Avenue Studio for what will become Valentino’s Pirates, under the supervision of producer Gary Pig Gold. Shortly after, Dave Rave leaves Canadian proto-punkpoppers Teenage Head and settles in New York City with Gary, where the album was completed and a band, known as The Dave Rave Conspiracy, was formed alongside Billy Ficca of Television and Lauren Agnelli to perform the songs live. Initially, Valentino’s Pirates received a limited, cassette-only release in Canada on the Mole Sound label. Eventually though, through a connection with the mysterious Rudolf Solovyov (owner of the Kismet company in New York), Dave Rave became the first Western artist signed directly to the Russian Melodiya label and the album (reduced to 10 songs, due to timing constraints, plus the Dave Rave Conspiracy renamed the Dave Rave Group to appease wary Soviet sensibilities) was released in the until-recently U.S.S.R. circa very early 1992.

Cue to today, 30 years since recording for the album took place, Hanky Panky Records is proud to release the first-ever vinyl reissue of Valentino’s Pirates as the 10-song original Russian pressing, and as a deluxe double CD set with the complete 13 song album, plus a “Naked Pirates” 22 track collection of demos, alternate mixes and unused tunes, most of which are previously unreleased.

Valentino’s Pirates features the talents of Jon Tiven, Bill Dillon, Malcolm Burn, Shane Faubert, Lane Steinberg, Coyote Shivers, Rick Miles, Cindy Beattie, James “Doc” Proctor, and Jack Pedler.

Nowadays, Dave remains the hard-working legend he is, writing songs, putting out albums and touring the world, while Gary continues, in the words of AllMusic, to record the unwritten history of pop music both high- and lowbrow, and every brow in between.

Following the massive success of their debut album in 1975, Kalapana returned to the studio in 1976, this time at Audiotronics in West Covina, California, this time taking the lead in producing the record. Barry Fasman, the Los Angeles-based producer whom the band credited with making their first record shine, joined them in the studio for string arrangements and to conduct certain tracks. However, on Kalapana II, the band felt fully prepared to produce the album themselves. And they did so, marvelously.

Little did they know, this would be the last time all four original band members would record an album together.

Second in a trio of eponymous albums from 1975 to 1977, Kalapana II expanded upon Kalapana I’s now-classic sound while leaning into styles not previously heard on their debut: lead vocalist Malani Bilyeu weaved a love-lorn country ballad into the new LP with “Wandering Stranger”, and keyboardist Kirk Thompson forever left his mark on the group’s legacy with the latin jazz-funk instrumental, “Black Sand”. (The tune became a staple for the band’s live performances: they’ve opened practically every concert ever since with the composition).

Considering the mastery and timelessness of Kalapana I, a sophomore LP could have easily fallen short of the high standard they had set. Yet they did it, cutting a second LP with back-to-back, timeless hits that continue to resonate today. As a quartet — supported by the propulsion of drummer Alvin Fejarang and saxophonist Michael Paulo’s prowess — Mackey Feary, Malani Bilyeu, D.J. Pratt, and Kirk Thompson solidified their legacy as one of Hawaii’s greatest groups of all-time with this recording.

First time on vinyl. Originally released as a CD only album on Riot Season back in 2008 and out of print ever since. Fourteen years later it's finally getting the double vinyl release it fully deserves. Now expanded, and with new artwork 'Pink Lady Lemonade - You're From Outer Space' really could be Acid Mothers Temple’s first 'summer album'. Here, Acid Mothers Temple's most representative song 'Pink Lady Lemonade' is dismantled and reconstructed as a blissful ecstatic psychedelic trip where chaos and silence intersect. These were the first Acid Mothers Temple & The Cosmic Inferno studio recordings since the addition of Pikachu, drummer and vocalist with Osaka grenade-girl duo Afrirampo. The popular AMT standard "Pink Lady Lemonade" showcases a 21st century acid rock update on the 60s San Francisco psychedelic sound. This one doesn't reach in the red status often - it’s a more out-there trippy ride. But when it does finally soar, Kawabata's guitar has never sounded more alive. "Pink Lady Lemonade, You're soooooooooo sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!"

Compiled by Markus Acher (Alien Transistor, The Notwist, Hochzeitskapelle) with plenty of support and help from his Spirit Fest bandmate, Saya (also of Tenniscoats), it features some familiar names – Tenniscoats, naturally, but also Zayaendo, Tori Kudo’s Maher Shalal Hash Baz – alongside lesser-known groups like Biobiopatata, Mitamurakandadan?, Kourakuen, sekifu, and Noah Lewis Mahlon’ Taits, amongst many others.

The collection of songs here rests upon a simple question, and an interesting parallel: Why do so many groups from Japan include brass and woodwind, and how closely does this echo the scene that Acher is involved with in Munich? The idea was formulated in Acher’s mind after one of his groups, Hochzeitskapelle, had been invited by Saya to Japan in 2019, to take part in the Alien Parade Japan tour. “Saya and her friends recommended a lot of music to me that I didn’t know of,” Acher recalls, “and I was surprised and excited to find so many Japanese bands who use brass and woodwind instruments.”

This approach was something Acher had been familiar with for a while, thanks to his experiences in Munich: “Until then I thought of the Munich scene, where [Hochzeitskapelle] come from, as being quite unique in having ex-punk and still-indie musicians form loud acoustic bands with many brass instruments and play a wild mixture of styles.” And indeed, that variety is reflected in the twenty-two songs on Alien Parade Japan, which flits from the pastoral melody of Maher Shalal Hash Baz’s “Crossin The Tama River”, through the tenderness of various sighhorns’s “people have called them flowers”, to the folksy lament of Gratin Carnival’s “Just Watching”.

Alien Parade Japan reaches further afield, too, drawing in some groups, like Hose, Fuigo, and popo, that feature musicians like Toshihiro Koike, Masafumi Ezaki and Taku Unami, who may be better known for their experimental and improvised releases on labels like ftarri and Erstwhile. It also looks back to material recorded in the 1990s - the swinging slide guitars and sax/tuba duet of Strada’s “Swamp”, from 1998, and Compostela’s energetic, rousing “ghhgh”, from 1990. Both pieces were written by, and feature, saxophonist Kanji Nakao; Compostela’s membership also included late saxophonist Masami Shinoda, who was also part of such storied Japanese groups as Pungo, A-Musik, Orquestra Del Viento, Ché-SHIZU, and the fiery free jazz outfit, Seikatsu Kōjyō Iinkai.

Groups like Compostela help to draw some through-lines to the aesthetics of chindon’ya, a type of Japanese marching band made up of costumed street performers who advertise businesses; the music made by these bands is brash, spirited, and full of energy. Alien Parade Japan weaves all of this together – chindon’ya; jazz; indie-pop; psych-folk; big band – into one beautiful, big tapestry of gorgeous melody, sweetness, and melancholy, with plenty of creative fraying at its edges. “The collection is a very personal view of Japanese bands using brass and woodwind instruments,” Acher concludes: “[it’s] not a representative anthology, it’s mainly held together by my personal taste, experiences, and friendships.” But it’s also a wonderfully coherent collection of some of the most playful and elated music you’re likely to hear this year. As musician and writer David Grubbs says:

„Now it is confirmed: my favorite genre of music is Alien Parade Japan. Hopefully now people will know what I’m talking about when I gush about the unassailable brilliance of longtime favorites like Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Popo, Mitamurakandadan?, Hose, and Tenniscoats, presented here alongside others whose music I have only begun to search out. Please share in my gratitude and enjoyment of this lovingly assembled collection, one that I welcome into my home as I would a long-anticipated guest.“

Two very different albums by two almost totally different bands, is all that Procession have left us. This band from Turin made their first album Frontiera in 1972 for the small Help label (an RCA subsidiary that also released Quella Vecchia Locanda’s first album), a good album that can be easily described as an hard prog LP. With a line-up of two guitars, bass and drums, and the original high-pitched voice of singer Gianfranco Gaza, the band plays a very good hard rock with some progressive influences and acoustic passages. Not particularly original, the album has its moments and it’s particularly rare.

The band reappeared in 1974 with a new line-up and a new recording deal, this time it’s Fonit that releases their second album “Fiaba”. A mature work, much more original than their first and more in a symphonic vein with large use of sax and flute with guest appearances by drummer Francesco Froggio Francica (from Raccomandata con Ricevuta di Ritorno), Delirium’s keyboard player Ettore Vigo and Circus 2000 female singer Silvana Aliotta, while drummer Roberto Balocco (ex-Capsicum Red) helped the group in concert.

Despite a good live activity Procession never gained the success they deserved and despite two good albums they broke up in 1975.

It consists of two long jazz pieces characterized by the presence of odd tempos (hence the title), the album featured the writing “Live Alcione”. Actually, the recording of the concert at the Alcione turned out to be of such poor sound quality that the group decided to re-record it in the studio, albeit live.

The poor commercial and critical success of the album was one of the reasons that led to the reunion of the New Trolls.

Jazz influences are heard, much stronger than Atomic System. Moreover, the name of the group on the cover of this album is New Trolls again and the musicians are not named, but the formation is in fact the same as the Atomic system, led by De Scalzi.

The album Ut, with a heavier sound, closer to hard rock caused the split of the band with the two leaders Di Palo and De Scalzi going in two different ways. A legal struggle followed, for the use of the famous name, and while Di Palo with the other three chose the Ibis way, in a hard rock direction, Vittorio De Scalzi formed a new band, called N.T.Atomic System to avoid contractual problems, and with a more polished sound. To help their fans to recognize this band as the real New Trolls, early copies of the album had a sticker on the sleeve covering the N.T. name with the full New Trolls brand.

N.T.Atomic System released their first album in 1973, a nice album with a large use of horn instruments, De Scalzi himself playing flute and keyboards along with guitar.

Before I’m gone I’d like to see us turn the corner and give up being spoilers of the land . . .

In 1975 Wallace ‘Wally’ Smith Broecker published a paper that popularised the term ‘global warming’ and against a backdrop of change and environmental uncertainty, a musical concept album was commissioned. ‘Wilderness America / A Celebration of the Land’ - is a musical exploration of our place within the cycle of living things. All compositions were specially commissioned for the album and blended with natural sounds recorded in the wild – lending the entire project a conceptual air that still feels fresh today.

The journey begins with the sun rising in the atmospheric haze of 'Dawn' - a track composed by new-age innovator Iasos. Gospel singer Walter Hawkins soon drops in with the soulful but ever so funky 'Metropolis' backed by a heavy array of session musicians with Patrick Gleeson, Ed Bogas and Tom Salisbury all adding their own misty magic to the album. David Riordan is the sorcerer conjuring up many of the compositions and also takes vocal duties on the evocative 'Mountain' and the climatic 'Before I'm Gone'.

‘Wilderness America / A Celebration of the Land’ was born when environmentalist Emily DeSpain Polk assembled a group of California residents to participate in a groundbreaking conservationist project. Christening the group Swap (Small Wilderness Area Preservation) Emily needed funds and began a project to produce a promotional nature based music album. To acquire the financial backing Emily would need to source a musician of some calibre. Contacting Cliff Branch from ‘Warehouse Sound Co.’ she was told the man she was looking for was David Riordan.

David Riordan had been around the music business for several years, first with The Yankee Dollar, then Sugarloaf and then Sweet Pain, he saw huge success with the single 'Green Eyed Lady'. David had worked on Cliff Branch’s 'Warehouse Sound Co. & Friends' albums and then released his solo album, 'Medicine Wheel'. But bored of touring he made the move to more concept-driven albums. First with ‘Christmas in San Francisco’ and then, in quick succession, 'Wilderness America, A Celebration Of The Land'.

Riordan, along with Peter Scott, a music producer friend in San Francisco, began piecing together an idea for the album. They brought in Ed Bogas to do string arrangements and Tom Salisbury to conduct. David had also asked his friend Patrick Gleeson if he knew of any R&B/Gospel singers in the Bay Area, and they soon added gospel singer Walter Hawkins into the mix.

Other than the track ‘Metropolis’, which was recorded in LA, the rest of ‘Wilderness America, A Celebration Of The Land’ was recorded and mixed by Richard Beggs at the San Francisco studio of Francis Ford Coppola. Coppola was filming ‘Apocalypse Now’ at the same time – so in between studio sessions, the musicians were able to view the seemingly never-ending film rushes arriving from the Philippines.

Eventually, the record produced by David Riordan and Peter Scott drifted onto the radar of vinyl obsessives and selectors as several of its key tracks began popping up on mixtapes and sales lists. It wasn’t long before this privately pressed, art-funded masterpiece became something of a holy grail for collectors. At long last, a re-issue of this masterpiece is now available on Ebalunga!!! Records.

Pink Room is Wet's EP as part of Secretly Canadian's Friends Of campaign, guided by the New York three-piece's magnetic singer-songwriter Kelly Zutrau. Pink Room follows Zutrau's third LP, Letter Blue, which was Wet's most collaborative release, with co-writing and co-production from Toro y Moi's Chaz Bear, as well as Frank Ocean's go-to keyboardist Buddy Ross. Notably, founding guitarist Marty Sulkow has rejoined the group, alongside their nimble producer Joe Valle. Altogether, they've helped to create Wet's most natural-feeling and playful songs to date. Wet released their self-titled debut EP in 2014, for the taste-making pop label Neon Gold, before moving to Columbia Records for two understated, celebrated albums, Don't You (2016) and Still Run (2018). "Wet has what it takes to make everyone care about an indie band," Fader announced in a glowing magazine profile before the band went on to play Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and sell out Webster Hall. They've toured with The 1975, Florence + the Machine, and Toro y Moi, who also featured Wet on 2019's Outer Peace. "I'm always interested in multiple feelings at once," Zutrau says. "Not just a happy song, but happy and sad and guilty _ those can all be true." This is as much a sonic statement as it is one about life: "We see these messages in music and media that are very black and white, but our lives don't really live up to those expectations. Instead, we're somewhere in the middle of all these states that are much easier to explain."

In many ways Kumoyo Island represents the culmination of a journey for Kikagaku Moyo. While their decade-long career can be summarized as a series of kaleidoscopic explorations through lands and dimensions far and near, there's a strong intention in each of their works to take the listener to a particular place, however real or abstract they may be. In that sense, the title and cover art for the band's fifth and final album draws you into a magical mass of land surrounded by water-but the couch suggests that Kumoyo Island may not be a fleeting stop, but rather a place of respite, where one could pause and take it all in. Reconvening at Tsubame Studios in Asakusabashi, Tokyo, where their earliest material had been recorded, the five members of Kikagaku Moyo found new inspiration in a familiar and comfortable environment. With their adopted homebase of Amsterdam under lockdown and their touring activities halted due to the pandemic, the band felt a renewed sense of freedom being back in shitamachi, or the old downtown area of their hometown. With unrestricted time in the studio, they began to build upon the demos and song fragments they'd amassed since their last tour. In the 1.5 months spent in Tokyo, everything started to come together. "Monaka", its name taken from a type of Japanese wafer sweets, takes melodic inspiration from traditional minyo folk styles, while "Yayoi Iyayoi" is a rare instance of the band singing in their native tongue, its evocative lyrics utilizing archaic words taken from old poetry and nature books found in one of the many secondhand bookstores of Tokyo. For "Meu Mar", an Erasmos Carlos cover, the original Portuguese lyrics were translated into English, then to Japanese. Strangely enough, the words seem to conjure an image of the protagonist floating among the clouds, looking down upon Tokyo Bay. In fact, it may be possible to draw a parallel between the topography of the band's home country-an island nation, surrounded by bodies of water-and the mysterious isle of Kumoyo. Are they one and the same? Has the band finally made it back home? It's up to the listener to decide.

Pressing Info: 180g sky blue vinyl. Staples of the Scandinavian psychedelic underground since they formed back in 2008, Helsinki's Black Lizard are returning with their fourth album 'Heads'. Due out June 3rd on Fuzz Club, the new album arrives following 2018's 'Celebration Of A New Dawn', several tours around Europe, collaborations with Anton Newcombe and Sonic Boom, and shared stages with the likes of Brian Jonestown Massacre, Diiv, Allah-Las, The Horrors and many more. Talking about the record, their first piece of new music in four years, Black Lizard said: "We have been working on 'Heads' for the past few years, taking our time. The main theme on this record is going forward in life and getting better. From the more 60s psych of 'Celebration Of A New Dawn' we've gone for a more straight-up garage-rock sound on this one." The resulting 'Heads' LP sees raw, fuzzy guitars combine with infectious echo-soaked vocals and driving rhythm sections to create a record that trades in a timeless rock'n'roll hedonism.

10th Anniversary deluxe edition · Includes original Oshin demos & previously unreleased live cuts · Pressed on Blue Marble vinyl - limited to 5000 copies · Includes reprospective booklet with archival photos, reflections from each bandmember, and new expansive liners by Shaad D'Souza // On June 26 2012, Diiv released their seminal debut record, Oshin. The album received critical acclaim from Pitchfork granting it "Best New Music," NME ranked it in the Top 10 among its "Albums of the Year," and it positioned Diiv as a central influence on the sound and aesthetic of the 2010s Brooklyn indie music scene. Beginning in 2011 as the nom-de-plume of Z. Cole Smith, musical provocateur and frontman of the atmospheric and autumnally-charged four-piece, Diiv created instant vibrations in the blog-world with their impressionistic debut single "Sometime." Diiv craft a sound that is at once familial and frost-bitten. Indebted to classic kraut, dreamy Creation-records psychedelia, and the primitive-crunch of late-80s Seattle, the band walk a divisive yet perfectly fused patch of classic-underground influence on their debut LP. To commemorate the 10th anniversary, this limited edition 2xLP combines the Oshin tracklist with the original Oshin demos recorded by Smith, and two live cuts recorded at storied Brooklyn DIY venue Shea Stadium - including the never before released "Yuk". The expansive packaging includes a craft paper die-cut widespine housed in a clear printed PVC sleeve, vinyl pressed on blue marble (to commemorate the very first limited edition pressing of Oshin on Captured Tracks), a Diiv "Fuck The World" poster, and a retrospective booklet with archival photos, reflections from each bandmember, new writing from the original "Oshin" poet, Madeline Jones, and exanded liners by Shaad D'Souza.

3x7" box set containing Diiv's inaugural, pre-Oshin releases from 2011 · First repress since their original release · Pressed on Eco vinyl and limited to 3000 copies · Includes full color booklet with photos, art, and new writings // Before Oshin, there was `Sometime,' `Human,' and `Geist'... In 2011, a newly formed Diiv (known, at the time, as `dive') created instant vibrations in the blog-world with their impressionistic debut single `Sometime'; finding its way onto the esteemed pages of Pitchfork a mere matter of weeks after the group's formation. They quickly followed it up with the equally great `Human' and `Geist', with the latter featuring a b-side cover of Kurt Cobain's "Bambi Slaughter." These very first offerings from Diiv chemically fused the reminiscent with the half-remembered, building a musical world out of old-air and new breeze. These are songs that remind us of love in all it's earthly perfections and perversions, and work that ultimately put Diiv on the map, leading the way for the band to become a central influence on the sound and aesthetic of the 2010s Brooklyn indie music scene. Now, to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of their seminal debut album Oshin, all three 7"s will be repressed for the very first time since their original release. Diiv: "Looking back, these 7"s were really the thing that propelled the band into existence and pushed us to realize Oshin in the first place. This type of retrospective project wouldn't feel complete without them."

Ten songs with synth shimmer, zen gongs with yard strimmer. The signs along the highway read "less BAR, More Noir AHEAD." Ah, those late summer, Joe Strummer, Home on the Range Rover Blues. There's a melancholy to all forms of flight, and the view out the Chopper is as hazy as it gets: mission-oriented, both stealth and self-realized. This album is decidedly (yet almost secretly) anti-patio-sunscreen-Beach Boys bachelor cruise sing-a-long. Sure, these songs let a little light through the blinds, but they sting insomnia, corrupt mayors, Kennedy Curses, sex tapes, and deer rifles. Chopper is the bird's eye view of the big event - a real nighttime character of oil stain, film grain, search light, night flight. It is muscular and fragile; loud yet quiet: both an observer and somehow the observed spectacle itself. What was slack in the slacker phase, got tauter, with lacquer glaze. Slick gloss, rightened wrongs; murdered boss, promoted pawns. With Boeckner transmitting high-voltage shocks upon every reach for a familiar instrument, Kiwi Jr. expands the palette with string machine song, synthesizered oblong, and Dentyne Classic Menthol vocals from area soprano Dorothea Paas (US Girls, Badge Epoch Ensemble) like the missing piece all along. Kiwi Jr. brings the Chopper to a new space, demilitarizing the technology just like flasks, aviators, and cargo shorts. Graceful in the air above, but when the Chopper lands, there's chaos on the ground. Kiwi Jr. shout, "Look Out!" When it gets close, it'll blow the hat right off of your head. Hold onto your hats, Babies. Kiwi Jr. is Jeremy Gaudet vocals and guitar, Brian Murphy guitar, Mike Walker bass, Brohan Moore drums, and everybody played a little bit of keyboard.

GUM aka Jay Watson is a multiinstrumentalist, founding member of POND and touring member of Tame Impala. Gum's 2015 album Glamorous Damage has been newly remastered by tour mate Kevin Parker. `Glamorous Damage,' is a warped comb running thru the shiny blonde hair of pop and disco. Produced and mixed by GUM and mostly recorded at home, the album is at times reminiscent of the elastic robo-glam ofPrince, the sci-fi waves of Chrome, early Eno experimentalism and a love of Beach Boys melody. In 2015 `Glamorous Damage' was critically acclaimed by the likes of Pitchfork, NME and Stereogum and featured on the longlist of the 2015 Australian Music Prize.Glamorous Damage features lead single `Anesthetized Lesson.'

GUM aka Jay Watson is a multi-instrumentalist, founding member of POND and touring member of Tame Impala.Gum's solo debut album was originally released in 2014 and has now been newly remastered by tour mate Kevin Parker. Delorean Highway is a collection of 10 songs, described as "paranoid pop songs, mostly about falling in love and all of the things that he thinks are going to kill him".`Delorean Highway' is the first track off the album of the same name, inspired by a dream Gum had of driving through the desert in the silver car from Back to the Future, before taking off into the night. In the real life, Gum can't drive, but he has seen Back to the Future and it's fair to say he does look a little bit like Doc.The second single, `Growin' Up' was unleashed onto willing ears towards the end of 2013 and taps into every emotion that the name would suggest - a sense of paranoia, doubt, fear, honesty and hopefulness.
