Slovenly Recordings is proud to present the debut hard copy from GREEN / BLUE: manually opening up a can of syrupy tones and pouring them down upon our daily bread. Each track cuts through a work uniform and plugs guitars directly into a human heart, encapsulated by a fully functioning warm body, which is either hugging a pillow and singing along to the 80% cocoa bittersweet dual vocals of Jim Blaha (The Blind Shake) and Annie Sparrows (The Soviettes), or revving the engine to the stoner, greaseball anthems of high motility. The Green / Blue sound is primarily influenced by visual art, or more specifically, collages ("'cause you can grab from anywhere and make a new story with it" - J.B.) and inverts itself for manifest on the album artwork, also performed by Mr. Blaha. His recent discovery and newfound love for lo-fi pop jangle (The Clean, The Chills and early GBV, as well as longtime JAMC lust) represents a bit of a sonic departure (not to be mistaken with maturity) for the label as well. Each fat track was recorded on the thinnest of tape in the basement studio of Blaha's Minneapolis home. What originated from batches of his home-brewed solo songs and electronic experiments, Green / Blue developed into a four-piece live force after adding Danny Henry (The Soviettes) on drums and Hideo Takahashi (Birthday Suits) on bass.

The three obnoxious jack-offs known as PUPPY AND THE HAND JOBS are back with another crude EP of filth ridden, barely listenable / tolerable punk called I Hate Everything, and with 7 songs this time around, that’s only a buck a track in as many inches. WHAT A FUCKIN BARGAIN. Never before in the history of recorded music has it been so cheap and effortless to be insulted and assaulted with a swift kick in the genitals by “songs” with titles like “Cocksucker” and “Rocker Hag.” But even a band of total degenerate creeps like this can still muster a touch of class here and there: enter one-time SUN CITY GIRLS collaborator EDDY DETROIT who penned the shitty little ditty “Plan 9"—a catchy track that will have you singing along like a dope before Puppy threatens your puny, worthless existence with “Predator.” WARNING: the actual record cover for this release isn’t nearly as polite as the digital artwork. You’ll be reaching for the dull pencil it was drawn with and stabbing your eyes out upon first glance.
Lo-Lite - Comics
LP | 1999 | EU | Reissue (Slovenly)

Release:1999 / EU – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
This is a Dutch two-man band, excelling in an original mix of raw stompin' blues and a high-octane punky rock. A slithering slideguitar, some maniac vocals and pounding drums make a surprisingly heavy live sound. Lo-Lite absolutely hasn't the tinny sound one would suspect from such a small band. Though barebones primitive, the songs carefully evade quite some silly rock&roll clichés, we're not talking copycats here, but the real HOW-HOW-HOW-HOW boogie chillin' thing. The hottest gumbo-infected low yo-yo stuff slide guitar blues'n'boogie you have ever heard escaping from your speakers!

Washington DC band DES DEMONAS exploded into the national consciousness
with a debut LP on In The Red a few months back, and they're not letting up now...
as diseased organ-soaked and fizz-drenched as it can get. "Bay of Pigs" keeps it real
with it's pounding chorus "Feeling like a Victim of Tiiiiiime" so naturally this works
on many levels. Featuring a guitar player from Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds,
who also did time in The Make-Up, it's got credentials to spare, but this six-foot-five
Kenyan lead singer (Jacky Cougar Abok, ex-Gino and the Goons) is gonna steal the
show for certain. There's a faint Deadly Snakes vibe when the organ tone really hits,
too, but this is much, much, heavier and less quaint, with the guttural vocals steering
this into a stomping mess of noise. Far more rambunctious and unholy, far more
strained and angry. - Todd Novak, Victim of Time

Slovenly Recordings proudly presents the debut vinyl offering from Greek punk prankster George Fotopoulous, doing business as electro-punk outfit Nomos 751. This self-titled LP houses more music than should be legally permissible on a single album, with 17 tracks of tricky compositions propelled by rinky-dink synth and programmed percussion ranking at zero acidity on the PH scale for Phat Beats. Having previously rotted our minds in the mid-aughts with his Thessaloniki budget rocker crew KOMODINA 3, Mr. Fotopoulos has developed and perfected a seizure inducing sonic smorgasbord of complicated and hilarious racket and punk rock polyrhythms that sounds like your favorite Stranglers LP played at 45rpm, or perhaps backwards, or at least in Greek. In fact, the tongue is so twisted that it’s barely recognizable as humanoid, and we therefore spaced adding the Mondo Mongo imprint to the jacket. Enjoy the gibberish whatever you’re capable of computing: there’s a giant, full color newsprint poster housed in the jacket with lyrics printed in both Greek and English, for the curious and / or literate.

Slovenly Recordings, in conjunction with Bonsound (CA), is proud to present the latest orb from DUCHESS SAYS, re-entering the Earthen atmosphere to soil your sweet dreams with their third astral opus “Sciences Nouvelles.” Faithfully endorsed by the Church of Budgerigars, this antagonistic workout features chanteuse maniaque Annie-Claude Deschênes and her band of desensitized robot cronies clawing their way through ten tracks of Moog saturated cold / new / dark wave blasters, besmirching your cherished optimism and grinding it into dust. DUCHESS SAYS drops science in a heady amalgam of tracks in English, French and also of the wordless persuasion, with fudgy bass and fuzz propelled by slinky punk beats and fat synth bleeps delaying for eons, projecting a Giorgio Moroder vs. Devo dance-off on space station Italo
