Streaming Arrow Records is excited to present the release of the soundtrack to Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim.

Released back in the far-away year of 2003, Ys VI reawakened the then long-dormant series with a gorgeous 3D entry that successfully paved the way for gameplay styles of future entries in the series and the beautifully varied soundtrack that captures the beauty of nature, dangers of exploring the unknown, and of course, heavy metal guitar riff-laden boss themes that serve as the musical foundation for the Ys series to this day.

35 years after the shooting of this horror/thriller masterpiece, Maestro Fabio Frizzi retraces his steps in order to realize one of the boldest projects of his life: a composer's cut. We are used to having theatrical cuts and director's cut, but nobody ever dared to conceive and perform a movie version following the musician's point of view. A new score for a cult classic, in a more modern way, almost in the Hollywood style, with every few moments of silence but with great respect for its original identity. A true expanded version of itself, realized through renewed skill and mastery, with the important ally of 35 years of added proficiency, presented in two distinct versions: one at full throttle empowered by a 51 piece symphonic orchestra and another energized by the prog rock strength derived from the orchestration for the Frizzi 2 Fulci band, the seven top performers of the maestro F2F band. An iconic past renewed through a modern stylization of itself, which can now be experienced as the score is performed live to the images of one of the most movies shot by this incredible director, Lucio Fulci. This CD features THE Beyond Composer's CUT live performance in Austin in Autumn 2016, on the cover the iconic poster painted by Enzo Sciotti right for this project. Last surviving copies available after the 2017 tour, they wont last for very long!

A genre defying marvel, Dialogo’s first ever standalone CDs reissue of Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai’s masterstroke, Dimensioni Sonore, is presented as 10 CDs, accompanied by an 80 page booklet, all housed in a beautiful wooden box, strictly limited to an edition of 280 copies. A perfect counterpoint to their astounding vinyl box set, reissuing Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai’s legendary 10 LP box set issued last year, Dialogo returns with the first ever standalone CD release of "Dimensioni sonore". Just as striking as the vinyl edition, this is among the most ambitious and important bodies of Italian Library music ever to emerge. An absolutely astounding accomplishment, mid-way through 2020 Dialogo announced the first ever vinyl reissue of Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai’s overwhelming ambitious 10 LP box set, Dimensioni sonore. Long regarded as one of the great, towering holy grails of Italian library music, it sold out almost immediately. Now Dialogo is back with the first ever standalone CD release of this mind-blowing body of work, presented across 10 CDs and accompanied by an 80 page booklet, all housed in a beautiful wooden box, it’s strictly limited to an edition of 280 copies and is sure to fly out the door as fast as its predecessor. Among the most important figures in 20th century Italian music, Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai each forged distinct and unexpected creative paths that were entirely tuned to the eras through which they worked; radical and forward thinking composers, who activated vast new worlds of possibility via the mediums of film and television. Morricone has long held legendary status for his soundtrack and library music work, as well as his explicitly avant-garde and experimental endeavors within the seminal collective, Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, but Dimensioni Sonore - a sprawling body of recordings originally issued by RCA in 1972 - holds equal distinction as a historically prescient illumination into the slightly lesser known efforts of Nicolai, and the groundbreaking importance of his work. Regular collaborators over the course of their respective careers, Morricone and Nicolai met as students during the early 1950s at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, fostering a friendship that would yield, from the mid 1960s on, hundreds of albums that bear both of their names, in one role or another. Each of these is incredible and worthy of note, but none is as astounding, distinct, or ambitious as Dimensioni Sonore, regarded by many as the crown jewel in RCA’s legendary library music series, Catalogo di Musiche per Sonorizzazioni. Almost entirely distinct in scale and content, Dimensioni Sonore towers in the history of library music; the intriguing and idiosyncratic realm that, particularly in Italy, offered a vehicle for a great many of the country’s most radical composers to stretch their talents into wild and unknown territories, allowing them to infiltrate the public consciousness via the mediums of television and film. Gathering 103 works - 5 CDs ascribed to works by Morricone and 5 to those of Nicolai - little information exists of the musicians involved with recording Dimensioni Sonore, but there has long been speculation that the legendary Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza lingers just out of sight; unsurprising given how wild and masterful it is. Like nearly all library music, the works of Dimensioni Sonore were not composed with any particular film or thematic association in mind, rather to be selected by filmmakers at a later date. This gave Morricone and Nicolai a remarkable amount of freedom to follow their creative intuition into strikingly uncharted realms. Deploying a starling range of acoustic and electronic instrumentation and techniques, and conceived in sequential order, across their new presentation as 10 CDs, Morricone and Nicolai - working far more like avant-garde composers than the creators of film scores - set out to create a body of expressive and dynamic work which explored constant timbric exploitations and multiform musical parameters, and their possibilities for utilization, titling each composition with no direct relation to its form, intentionally leaving the meaning entirely to the listener’s mind. While too varied to describe in any detail, the organisations of sound encountered across Dimensioni Sonore are incredibly distinct within the music of its moments, and arguably any before or since. Sheets of pointillistic ambience bristle with details of synthetic and organic tones and textures, generating a fields of abstraction that could be mistaken for any number of avant-garde and experimental gestures of the '60s and '70s, were it not for the unifying, cracking rhythm section that drives it forward and pushes into entirely unexpected realms, which gave Sergio Leone, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Elio Petri, Gillo Pontecorvo, all Giuliano Montaldo all plenty to explore in their original liner notes for the release.

In partnership with Universal Pictures, Metro Goldwyn Mayer (mgm) and Monkeypaw Productions, Waxwork Records is thrilled to present Candyman Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe. Directed by Nia DaCosta (next year’s The Marvels) from a screenplay by Oscar® winner Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld and DaCosta, Candyman, currently in theaters nationwide, is a fresh take on the blood-chilling urban legend and a contemporary incarnation of the 1992 cult horror classic.

About Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe:

Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (b.1975) is an artist, curator and composer who works primarily with, but not limited to, voice and modular synthesizer for sound in the realm of spontaneous music. Along with analog video synthesis works, he has brought forth an A/V proposal that has been a focus of live performance and installation / exhibition.

The marriage of synthesis and the voice has allowed for a heightened physicality in the way of ecstatic music, both in a live setting and recorded. The sensitivity of analogue modular synthesis echoes the organic nature of vocal expression, which in this case is meant to put forth a trancelike state. Lowe’s works on paper tend towards human relations to the natural/magical world and the repetition of motifs.

Waxwork Records is proud to present the soundtrack to Candyman in multiple formats, including vinyl, CD and digital. The deluxe 2xLP vinyl release features 180-gram colored vinyl, old-style tip-on gatefold jackets with satin coating and a built-in booklet page, liner notes by composer Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, a 12-page art gallery exhibition catalogue, artwork by Sherwin Ovid and Julian Williams and puppetry art by Manual Cinema.

Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the debut release of Alice, Sweet Alice Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Stephen Lawrence. Alice, Sweet Alice is a 1976 American Slasher-Horror film directed by Alfred Sole and starring Brooke Shields in her film debut. Set in 1961 New Jersey, the film focuses on a troubled adolescent girl who becomes the suspect in the brutal murder of her younger sister at her first communion, as well as in a series of unsolved stabbings that follow.

In the years since its release, Alice, Sweet Alice has gained a cult following and is considered a contemporary classic of the slasher sub-genre in critical circles. It has also been the focus of scholarship in the areas of horror film studies, particularly regarding its depictions of Roman Catholicism, child emotional neglect, and the disintegration of the American nuclear family.

The film’s chilling score was composed by Stephen Lawrence. Lawrence is an American composer that has scored more than 300 songs and musical cues for Sesame Street, resulting in three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition. The music of Alice, Sweet Alice features heavy usage of dissonant strings, repetitive keys, church organ, and motifs that segue from eerily mischievous and playful to dread inducing and utterly haunting.

Available for the very first time in any format, the complete soundtrack to Alice, Sweet Alice is also available on CD, with new artwork by Steven Reeves.

Genre:Electronic / Dance, Soundtracks
For Böser Herbst, Thomas Fehlmann returns to the sediment of ages, drawing from a similar lexicon of sounds to that used on 2018’s ‘1929 – Das Jahr Babylon’. Like that album, Böser Herbst was produced as the soundtrack to a documentary made by Volker Heise, ‘Herbst 1929, Schatten Über Babylon’, which offers historical insight to the third season of the television series Babylon Berlin. It adds yet another string to the bow of this most forward-thinking and creative artist, whose history takes in NDW (Palais Schaumburg), techno (3mb) and psychedelic ambience (The Orb), plus a clutch of gorgeous solo albums that explore wide terrain, from the dancefloor through supine home listening to compelling soundtrack work. Fehlmann’s approach here was to ‘capture’ samples of contemporaneous music, “picking up the dirt and dust of original 1920s archive sound and music excerpts and shaping the essence into this selection of tunes,” he recalls. After delivering the material to the editing room, Fehlmann “threw all the pieces up in the air, deliberately lost the overview in consequence, researched the atmospheric thread and assembled it for this album.” That explains the singular nature of the material here, and its ability to sit together so neatly and discretely, as its own entity. For Böser Herbst is a music box of possibilities, shadowed by its historical provenance, but never crudely beholden to it, rather “keeping the references only as a distant nod, a scent.” It’s certainly an evocative listen, a cornucopia of textural pleasure and sensual, tactile assemblage. The spiralling, psychedelic cycle of “Karnickel” winds its way between the ears like thread to the needle; “Mit Ausblick” immerses the listener in deep, gaseous tones, only to be lifted into the air by the glassy drones of “Umarmt”. “Wunschwechsler” crackles with the unpredictability of weather systems while a guitar-like loop unspools across the horizon. Throughout, you can catch tiny tastes of the source material, but they’re pressed into greater service, Fehlmann using these sources for their evocative capacity and then saturating them with grain and rumble, abstracting outwards. It’s a music of temporal disjuncture and clairvoyant resonance, “speaking with the past – alert, distant and quixotic.”

Waxwork Records is proud to present the deluxe vinyl release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Part II: THE Secret OF THE Ooze Original Motion Picture Score by John DuPrez. Released in 1991 as the highly anticipated sequel to 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, THE Secret OF THE Ooze follows the adventures of four Turtles: Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and their Master Splinter. Resuming from the events of the first film, The Shredder returns to take back command of the Foot Clan and work towards getting revenge on the Turtles. When he learns the secret behind the Turtles' mutation, he becomes more dangerous than ever. The film sheds light on the origins of Splinter and the Turtles, as well as introduces two new villains: Tokka and Rahzar.

Lifted from the pages of the popular comic series, a wildly successful Saturday morning cartoon, and a massive hit-line of toy action figures, the motion picture adaptation of the beloved crime fighting turtles brought the Tmnt franchise to the next level.

The gritty and dark NYC martial-arts-superhero-comedy features the four cherished ninja turtles with a slew of other idolized characters such as Master Splinter, Shredder, Casey Jones, April O’Neil, and The Foot.

In collaboration with composer John DuPrez, Tmnt co-creator Kevin Eastman, and Nickelodeon, Waxwork Records is proud to present the official and complete 1991 score to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Secret of the Ooze for the first time in any format. Sourced from the original masters, the complete film music by DuPrez has been re-stored and re-mastered. Also included is “Ninja Rap” by Vanilla Ice.

The complete album art was created by Kevin Eastman exclusively for Waxwork Records, and it features his classic comic-book illustration style!

Whatatido Archive Group - OST The Black Stone Affair

OST The Black Stone Affair
CD | 2021 | EU | Original (Record Kicks)

Release:2021 / EU – Original
Genre:Organic Grooves, Soundtracks
For the first time ever, Record Kicks is pleased to announce the release of the long lost soundtrack by Whatitdo Archive Group to the Italian Cinematic Masterpiece "The Black Stone Affair'' on beautiful gatefold vinyl, CD and digital format on April 09 2021. Long thought to be lost alongside the movie itself by the production studio, the soundtrack's master reels were recently recovered and its audio meticulously restored and remastered by J.J. Golden in Ventura, CA.

The movie itself was understood to be unusual for its time: a globetrotting adventure/western-noir written and directed by aspiring visionary, Stefano Paradisi. Unfortunately for Paradisi, the tragic loss of his masterpiece during a fire also meant the end of his short lived career in movies. People who worked on the film have been cited as saying this film was very ambitious, set to be a turning point in Paradisi’s carrier putting him on the map alongside the likes of Sergio Leone and Antonioni.

While the movie never saw the light of day, the soundtrack by obscure band Whatitdo Archive Group has thankfully been recovered. The music itself is staggering to hear, each track evoking all the senses almost all at once. "The Black Stone Affair (Main Theme)" sets the story with its dizzying bassline

underneath a Morricone-esque harpsichord melody eventually all digressing into a psych-freakout of guitars swirling over what is the overarching motif groove of this iconic soundtrack.

We then get taken into the giallo-steeped melody of "Blood Chief". What can only be the theme of the antagonist, this cut offers crunchy drum breaks, reverb-drenched bongos and a sinister baritone guitar line that seems to be indicative of its character. "Ethiopian Airlines" transports the movie into exotic lands with its afro-centric rhythms and mysterious horn melody. The search is on for the elusive Black Stone, an artifact so coveted it had been hidden for decades for its fatal power of seduction. For fans of KPM and De Wolfe Music, "Il Furto Di Africo" definitely delivers a similar 'library' flavor popular at the time. Our ears are treated to an ambiguous sense of center. What were Whatitdo Archive Group thinking? There almost seems to be two key centers at once and a slithering flute line blending between both. We can only imagine that the Black Stone was successfully stolen from the small Italian village of Africo with this track.

What movie really is complete without a lounge-y Bossa number? "Italian Love Triangle" delivers that sun-soaked Mediterranean romance. Our cunning female lead, Lola, decides the only way she can acquire the Black Stone is to pit the trio of characters against each other with an erotic love triangle she carefully crafts to exploit the vulnerability of Blood Chief and Beaumont Jenkins. "Last Train to Budapest" finds our two male leads in a gun-wielding, high-stakes train chase through the dizzying mountains of Bosnia racing to Hungary's capital city. The music brilliantly calls upon the soundtrack's multiple melodic motifs to all collide into a single stressful heart-racing track sure to put a knot in your stomach. Probably the most unusual song appearing in this soundtrack is the French infused "L'amour au Centre de la Terre", an obvious yet tasteful homage to the composers' musical hero, Alain Goraguer. A lilting monologue is recited by who seems to be Lola, the tragic female lead in "The Black Stone Affair". Her passage speaks of the entangled romance she shares with the other two male leads and her plan to acquire the elusive Black Stone for herself. It's every man (and woman) for themselves! Paranoia and deceit has crept into the minds and motives of our conniving trio. No one can be trusted and false alliances are crumbling from within.

"The Black Stone Affair (Reprise)" evokes the characters' gut-wrenching feeling with its ever-rising key center. "Farewell Lola" is the saddening funeral dirge and exit of the aforementioned Lola. Sworn enemies Beaumont and Blood Chief stand silently outside the church and watch as Lola's casket is lowered into her untimely grave. This is merely an armistice between the remaining opponents, only to resume after paying their respects to their former 'lover'. A gory fight leaves Blood Chief standing. Beaumont is nowhere to be seen and only a cloud of dust slowly settles into the landscape as the mournful guitar and harmonica of "Beaumont's Lament" plays quietly in the distance. All is not lost. Triumphantly, Beaumont Jenkins stands tall, throws one last devastating blow to Blood Chief leaving him incapacitated. "The Return of Beaumont Jenkins" plays loudly in the face of Blood Chief desperately reaching for the stone only to realize it's a false! Our new hero, Beaumont Jenkins, sustained by Alessandro Alessandroni Jr.'s cinematic whistle, rides away victoriously into the night sky... the Black Stone hidden cleverly in his hat. End credits.

Steeped in obscurity, a cult following of crate-diggers and musical oddity collectors has been brewing over the mysterious releases of the Whatitdo Archive Group. Surfacing in 2009 from the high deserts of Reno, NV, USA, this recording collective focuses solely on curating, performing and preserving esoteric soundtrack, library and deep-groove collections. The personnel of the group consist of three musicians; each of them avid composers, recording engineers and obsessive record collectors. Alexander Korostinsky, Mark Sexton and Aaron Chiazza met in college and have been working together on producing music for over 10 years. (Both Korostinsky and Sexton also happen to write and perform in

critically-acclaimed soul group “The Sextones”). In 2015 they quietly released a small batch of lo-fi deep-groove demos recorded exclusively to cassette in an old garage. This became their first full length offering, Shit’s Dope, and it began to quickly spread across the internet piquing the interest of record collectors and DJs all over the world—a record Fleamarket Funk describes as “Falling in between some Headhunters and Lunar Funk 45s” and becoming a bestseller on Bandcamp of that year.

During this time, the Whatitdo Archive Group also began what is often hailed as a vital turning point in Reno music history; by hosting their famous “Whatitdo Wednesday” residency at a local venue. These packed performances drew the attention of not only live music-goers, but also the most accomplished jazz musicians in the area, often joining them on stage. Eventually, these shows stumbled into the arena of obscure performance art, where the band would facetiously distribute written and multiple choice tests during their performance for the audience to participate in.

After their residency came to a bittersweet end, the Whatitdo Archive Group refocused their attention on the wonderful world of 1970’s soul-jazz, where they wrote and recorded what would be their follow up 7” release, Crocker Way / Steve’s Romp. This limited edition 45rpm became a hot ticket item for UK record collectors who had been previous fans of WAG’s older lo-fi work. Crocker Way was also a featured track on BBC Radio 6. Shortly after producing Crocker Way / Steve’s Romp, the group again started production on their crown jewel of a record, a concept album that had been tossed around for several years beforehand but never executed. As band member Mark Sexton explains “We wanted to create an album that encompassed everything we love and admire about old Italian soundtrack scores, and bring that energy back into the spotlight”. The group spent 9 months of research, digging through their personal collections of dusty LP’s scrutinizing the work of Piccioni, Torossi, Roubaix, Alessandroni and of course Morricone, recording, mixing and working with over 24 skilled musicians. The Whatitdo Archive Group finally completed what would be their finest work to date, The Black Stone Affair. Recorded entirely in Korostinsky’s home studio, this record is a labor of love, dedication, appreciation and respect for the golden age of Italian Soundtrack and Library music.

First released by Cazzo Film in 2001, ebo hill’s Bonking Berlin Bastards has long achieved the status of an underground punk porn classic. Like the Cazzo productions of director Bruce LaBruce, hill’s vision was both ahead of its time and a playful distillation of 90s and early-2000s Berlin Zeitgeist: queer, industrial, hypersexual, exhibitionist and fueled by electronic music. The story is told in large part by the soundtrack, to be released for the first time on Ostgut Ton sublabel A-ton. The music follows a group of squatters, punks and drag queens as they fuck, party and stumble their way through an empty city at the turn of the millennium. Approaching these themes more through location than plot, the film’s narrative freedom is also a narrative of freedom; between chance encounters and sex in public, atop the maze of roofs in the city’s former East, bent over bridges and moaning in ecstasy at oncoming traffic, pants down in telephone booths, packed into sex clubs, in the shadows of abandoned factories and techno clubs lost in time. Composed by improvisational techno trio AeoX and noise / industrial producer Rouage aka CNM (respectively), the music spans a broad range of appropriately pounding industrial, weird techno, noise, ultra-stoned ambient, improvised dub and electro. It’s a sonic spectrum that connects Berlin’s queer hardcore techno and squatter party scenes from which AeoX and Rouage emerged, drawing a direct line between the likes of Berghain-forerunner OstGut (a primary meeting point for the film’s cast & crew) to the more industrial, breakcore and noise- oriented independent party collectives and locations who provided multiple settings for the film, including Grüne Hölle and Stellwerk.

* Features 36 previously unreleased tracks recorded in 1969
* New Liner Notes from Tiny Tim biographer Justin A. Martell and Tiny Tim Fan Club President Rita McConnachie
* Lushly illustrated booklet featuring rare, never before seen photos

Ship To Shore PhonoCo. is proud to present the latest release featuring eternal troubadour Tiny Tim, Spirits Of The Past: Lost & Found, Volume 4. This 36-track CD contains a previously unheard, hotel room concert by pop icon Tiny Tim.

On May 25, 1969, while in between shows at the Sherman House’s College Inn nightclub in Chicago, Tiny Tim invited his friend and fan club president Rita McConnachie to his hotel room for a private concert. When Rita rolled her reel-to-reel tape recorder, Tiny grabbed his megaphone (to bring “back the sounds before the electrical system in an acoustic-alike way!”) and ukulele and launched into a 36 song set. That day, Tiny put down on tape many songs he would not record elsewhere, happily warbling rarities from the turn-of-the-century, his favorite crooner material, and religious hymns. Spirits Of The Past showcases both Tiny Tim’s versatility as a singer and seriousness as an artist.

Like a time capsule from 1969, this comprehensive package features the full, unedited private concert, which has been remastered by our audio specialists, and contains a beautiful 18-page, color booklet with Rita McConnachie’s rare photos, memorabilia and personal correspondence with Tiny Tim, as well as brand-new notes from both Rita and Tiny Tim biographer Justin Martell. This release coincides auspiciously with the 50th anniversary of Tiny Tim’s historic wedding on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson on December 17, 1969!

Official reissue of this lost funky soundtrack from 1977 that features the one and only Rudy Ray Moore, otherwise known as Dolemite, and his band Nat Dove and the Devils, available for the first time ever on CD! Nat Dove has been playing blues, boogie-woogie and barrelhouse music for over four decades. And, as one of the last of a breed of blues pianist, Dove is the most sought after and respected blues pianist in the Western United States. Dove has been featured on the recordings of Robert Cray, George "Harmonica" Smith, Freddie King, Big Mama Thornton, T-Bone Walker, Pee Wee Crayton, Louis Meyers and Big Joe Turner... just to name a few. Nat Dove and his funky combo The Devils lay down a monster set of grooves that virtually define the Blaxploitation sound. Most of the tracks on here are instrumentals, and a few of the cuts have vocals by Mary Love. The original is so rare it is impossible to find, and this reissue has excellent sound quality taken from the original master tapes. Includes the highly sought after funk classics "Junkie Chase", "Zombie March", "Ghetto Street U.S.A", and "Petey Wheatstraw" along with the original track listing and cover artwork.

Who's the baddest mo-fo to blow onto blaxploitation screens? Forget Shaft, Superfly or The Mack. It's Rudy Ray Moore, the "Godfather of Rap". He gave you the gospel of street hustler, pimp, and all-around ghetto superhero Dolemite. Without a doubt one of the best known and most enduring of all blaxploitation films and scores, Dolemite's legendary story and music helped define a film genre and the sound of an entire decade.

Dolemite's long sought-after soundtrack is available now as a official reissue and comes with 28(!) bonus tracks made from the original multi track master tapes. One of the undisputed blaxploitation classics, the original motion-picture score is a wicked blend of uptempo funk instrumentals, soul ballads, loud 'n' proud themes and Dolemite's crucial statement of intent. This soundtrack's raw genius helped pave the way for countless gritty, street-level funk soundtracks to follow. The pedigree that the oft-duplicated sound spawned is undeniable and the music here is hot enough to melt your stereo. Dolemite is sure to appeal to admirers of pimps, players and private eyes.

Director Patrick Kennelly and composer Jonathan Snipes have been working together for years; from some very twisted stage theater projects to music videos for Snipes' experimental rap group clipping. (Sub Pop). For Kennelly's debut feature film, Snipes tackled not only the entire score, but all the sound design as well. The results are one of the most brutal explorations of body horror you'll ever see and hear.

Heavily utilizing harsh noise and elements of the lead actresses' intense performances as parts of the score, Snipes' composition is exactly what you'd hope a horror film score to be: frightening as hell!!

“1929 - Das Jahr Babylon" marks Thomas Fehlmann's third full length release of 2018 and presents what appears to be a creative peak in his career that spans beyond his solo career to his early days in Palais Schaumburg, collaborating with Moritz von Oswald as 3MB to his long time work with The Orb. Having left The Orb in late 2017 has set free unforeseen energies in Fehlmann's studio. A departure from his recent dance floor-friendly album "Los Lagos" (KOM388, KOMCD148) released in September on Kompakt, Thomas Fehlmann's “1929 - Das Jahr Babylon" is a film soundtrack from the documentary that aired on ARD network on September 30, 2018 and is now available as a podcast series. To compliment the internationally lauded TV series "Berlin Babylon", German director Volker Heise has created a documentary about 1929, the fateful year during Germany's "Weimarer Republik" in which "Berlin Babylon" is settled. Heise's stirring documentary portrays Germany's sizzling capital that is faced with radical changes by the dark forces whom are about to toss the world into the abyss we know as World War II.
