Memories of Tokyo-To is a dedication to the music and style of the Jet Set Radio series of games. Produced chiefly but not entirely by composer Hideki Naganuma, the soundtrack's vibrant, hip-hop inspired attitude has entertained me for over half of my life and I am finally giving back.

I think that this album is the most true to myself I have been since I started making music, and I hope that you all enjoy listening to it as much as I have enjoyed making it.

Meet Stone. The trailer says it all. A deep Australian drawl narrates the scene over a psychedelic swamp-funk rhythm section doused in electronic percussion and treated keyboards. “Stone Is A Trip… The grave diggers are on the move – a new breed of motorbike gang” The screen fills with images of slo-mo bike accidents, hallucinogenic trips and a death defying cliff stunt which could easily mistaken for a doppelganger scene in Psychomania. “Vietnam veterans with their own style of life, their own rules, their own religion.” The scene swathes to a satanic ritualistic burial at the hands of a denim-clad crew of outlaw bikers with strangely familiar faces.

To many global record collectors, DJs, music producers and general retrophiles living outside of Australia “Stone” was primarily known for its electronic sound effects, psychedelic guitars, cosmic soundscapes and funky bass lines… In the 80s and 90s, before the global DVD boom, Stone to many people was first and foremost a Soundtrack… The kind of soundtrack that makes you wish you could see the film but it’ll probably never happen. The LP artwork alone was beyond enigmatic with its contradicting embroider logo (designed by sandy) alongside its striking futuristic airbrushed chrome insignia (designed by comic artist Peter Ledger and realised by airbrush whizz Errol Black). The huge parade of brand new Kawasaki bikes inside the gatefold looked like something from the future compared to the classic full-dresser Harleys from the American Hells Angels movies. And when the needle drops into the groove and the freakish blend of didgeridoo and Moog (played by Johnny ‘Didge’ Matthews and synth expert Andy Cohan) blended with unidentified clicks belches and pops fly out the speakers it is literally impossible to put a date, never mind a story line, to this acid fuelled soundscape. The use of confusing and contradicting musical influences alongside bizarre noises is actually the secret sauce in this concoction and when the swampy psychedelic funk rock rhythm section kicks-in you are left with a 45 minute programme of skewed. Forward-thinking avant-pop that would stylistically fill a very lonely section in the record shop racks. There are not many records quite like Stone.

Transversales Disques proudly presents the first LP reissue of Défense de savoir (L’uomo a destra basso nella fotografia) original soundtrack written by italian composer Bruno Nicolai.
During the Giallo boom of the early 70’s, a lot of French film directors started working with maestro Ennio Morricone. French director Nadine Trintignant decided to hire the maestro’s musical orchestrator and collaborator Bruno Nicolai to compose the score of her fourth movie, a political thriller starring her husband Jean-Louis Trintigant.
Recorded at Morricone’s Ortophonic studio in Rome, this OST is undoubtedly the most underrated Bruno Nicolai’s soundtrack, probably because it was only released in France at the time.
Presented here with previously unreleased tracks as an alternative to the rare original french pressing. Limited Edition. Remastered from the original master tapes.

Licensed in 1975 by Gemelli, Rendez Vous is possibly a holy grail in Nicolai long-running career as a composer. The orchestra director and musical editor has been active for at least 30 years and his majestic opus an overwhelming data for any avantgarde freak or moviegoer obsessed. While studying piano and composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, he befriended Ennio Morricone and formed a long working relationship, with Nicolai eventually conducting for and co-scoring films with Morricone. Nicolai also scored a number of giallo exploitation films and wrote many scores for director Jesús Franco. His work was featured in the Quentin Tarantino films Kill Bill: Volume 2 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Tension! Pretty much what this whole record is all about. An imaginary soundtrack that turned out to be an in-demand obscure library, Rendez Vous shows up the many skills of the composer and his alumni. Possibly Morricone is playing muted trumpet in several episodes – Diffidenza and Subdolamente – absorbing thrilling experiences similar to the Maestro soundtracks for Dario Argento early movies (not a case that Nicolai was the conductor for several adventures in movie sound theatre such as ‘L’Uccello Dalle Piume Di Cristallo’, ‘ Il Gatto A Nove Code’ or ‘4 Mosche Di Velluto Grigio’).

“This is the story of a man, marked by an image from his childhood.” Thus begins, with deceptive simplicity, Chris Marker’s La Jetée (1962). The film, by far Marker’s best-known work, synthesizes many of the elusive filmmaker’s central preoccupations – time and memory, power and resistance, the ephemerality and resilience of love – yet it also undermines the very idea of film. Composed almost entirely of still photographs, La Jetée quite literally pieces together the tale of an unnamed, forsaken protagonist, drafted into a series of time travel experiments in post-apocalyptic Paris.

While Marker creates some of the most hauntingly beautiful imagery in cinema, what animates La Jetée’s frozen pictures is its sparse and unsettling soundscape. Whispers, breaths and heartbeats offer an unnerving reminder of bodily rhythms that, inside the film and out, will inevitably cease. Fragments of symphonic music at once capture a love affair and underscore the tragedy awaiting it. The poetic momentum of the narrator’s voice, our only guide: “On the tenth day, images begin to ooze, like confessions.”

Superior Viaduct is honored to present the first-time release of the soundtrack from La Jetée. This vinyl album features both French and English voiceover narrations, along with organic textures and Trevor Duncan’s impressionistic score. More than half a century has passed since La Jetée’s theatrical release – now is the time to travel back to the “sudden roar” of this masterpiece in a completely different light.

We're glad to announce the reissue of this previously unreleased soundtrack for the obscure drama movie from 1974 directed by Daniele Franco. Originally published by CAM label with just 2 tracks recorded on a scarce 45, our team was able to restore the music from the original Cam archive tapes to offer a proper vinyl edition that this beatiful score absolutely deserves. Maestro and orchestra director Giancarlo Gazzani, the great musician and arranger behind several Italian grails like FEELINGS and more killer Library recordings from Costanza Records, composed an enchanting and unmissable OST with loads of refined Morricone-esque orchestral arrangements, insane groovy beats and Nuova Consonanza-inspired Avant-garde music. The whole soundtrack is great with a huge strings orchestra that swings between sweet and flirtatious Bossa Nova themes and mental sounding experimentation with a driving drums kit. Amazing ITALIAN OST!

With famous screen composers for a father (Alfred Newman) and a brother (Thomas Newman)— not to mention his cousin Randy Newman!—David Newman has had quite the family tradition to uphold. But uphold it he has… and in his own uproarious way. Name your favorite comedy of the last 2-3 decades and chances are David Newman’s name is unspooling in the credits. Throw Momma from the Train, The War of the Roses, Other People’s Money, The Mighty Ducks, The Nutty Professor, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Heathers, The Freshman, Honeymoon in Vegas, Ice Age, Girls Trip…all his. But perhaps his best-loved score of all is the one he composed for the 1999 sci-fi action/comedy Galaxy Quest starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and Sam Rockwell. While the film was definitely a comedy, it also moments of genuine drama and action-filled suspense (which in part explains why Galaxy Quest is such a cult classic), and Newman deftly balances both sides with a score full of big choral passages and stirring themes. For its maiden voyage on vinyl, we’ve taken the extended version of the Galaxy Quest score that first appeared on CD in 2012, housed it inside a gatefold jacket boasting copious production stills, and pressed it up in blue “galaxy” vinyl…limited to 1400 copies!

Stanley Kubrick has a troubled past with Deerhoof. An argument over whether Eyes Wide Shut was good almost broke up the band in 1999 and again in 2003. When Famous Class suggested a 7" of music from The Shining, the band waffled for three years about whether they thought they could do it justice. But once a Halloween release date was proposed, Deerhoof couldn't resist. They got the score to Bartok's "Music For Strings, Percussion and Celesta" out of the library, and transcribed one of the 20s songs straight from the closing credits. Music that in the movie echoed from some ghostly, gilded past takes on a more urgent character in Deerhoof's versions, as if to underscore that the horrors of white supremacy, oligarchy, and domestic abuse are alive and well in 2018 America.

Iconic film composer Ennio Morricone made an incredible contribution to popular music. Coming to prominence through his scoring of Sergio Leone’s Westerns, there followed work for directing legends such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Roland Joffè, Brian De Palma and many more, since Morricone was responsible for more than 400 film scores in his lifetime. The 1968 oddity Danger: Diabolik! is one of his rarest, since the score was lost in a fire, and one of his most celebrated, since Quentin Tarantino used its ‘The Bed’ in Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood. This warped action/crime film directed by Mario Brava, is based on an Italian comic series about a criminal doctor who enacts lavish heists for his girlfriend; the psychedelic music has a wall of sound feeling with raging guitars and a twanging sitar, as well as its irresistible repeated refrain of ‘Deep Down,’ sung by Cristina Brancucci- the stuff of dreams for the devious doctor and his hapless patients. With atonal keyboards, choral breaks, garage rock and organ freakouts, this is the kind of heady, outrageous mix of classical and modern that only Morricone can pull off.

Even if you find the 1969 film "Eat It", a bit 'too weak-willed a film of social satire and advertising, the first and last movie of Francesco Casaretti', you can not miss out on the soundtrack from the two-time Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone, composed during his most prolific and experimental period.
Morricone wrote a score that is, as always, brilliant, conducted by Bruno Nicolai with the choir I Cantori Moderni di Alessandro Alessandroni. The tracks range between danceable (A5, A6, A7 and even a bit "Dies Irae", B2, a known nursery rhyme almost deformed, interpolated into the main theme), classical motifs, romantic, and with a touch of bossa nova (A1, A2, A3, A4, B1, B3, B4), all of which embrace all the psychological and environmental nuances of alienation and paradox that mark the plot of the film.
There is also a sense of disturbing and abstract experimentalism that make this soundtrack unique. Particularly in "Quinta Variazione / Africami" (A6) with the fuzzy Fender by Alessandroni, and "Settima Variazione" with its three dreamy amazing underwater variants (A7, A8 and B6) and ending with "Eat it", in the same version as the highly collected 45rpm that came out at the time and is, until now, the only existing track on vinyl from this score; a today legendary cult object and sought for the killer heavy drum by Vincenzo Restuccia and distorted psychedelic Fender Stratocaster of Alessandro Alessandroni.
Highly rigid hand-glued Cinedelic cover with a folder insert of 4 facades with photos from the movie.

Federale is a seven-piece ensemble based in Portland, OR spearheaded by longtime Brian Jonestown Massacre bassist Collin Hegna. Their fourth album. “All The Colours Of The Dark” is released on Death Waltz Recording Co. Federale has always operated under the guidance of a larger story arc. 2007’s “La Rayar” is a classic tale of betrayal and vengeance. 2009’s “Devil In A Boot” centers on a small town terrorized by a railroad company baron’s expansion and destruction. 2012’s “The Blood Flowed Like Wine” tells the supernatural tale of an evil so powerful that not even hell can hold back its wrath. “All The Colours Of The Dark” continues this tradition while breaking new musical terrain. Though the new record includes cinematic instrumentals and that the band is known for, it also sees Federale expanding their vision to narrative songs in the baritone-driven style of heroes Lee Hazlewood, Scott Walker and Nick Cave. Murder, revenge, regret, power and corruption are the lyrical themes of this collection. This album will be the band’s first on Death Waltz Records. In 2014, Federale, a band conceived as an outlet to channel inspiration from ‘60s & ‘70s European soundtracks, particularly those from Italy made famous by the Spaghetti Western & Giallo genres, contributed five songs to Ana Lily Amirpour’s acclaimed gothic vampire film noir, “A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night”, setting the mood of both the film and the soundtrack. Lily’s new film, “The Bad Batch”, will feature the title track from the new album. The records is pressed on 180 gram vinyl and comes with a download card.

Franco Chiari, born in 1927 in Naples, was an eclectic artist who is considered a bit of a wildcard of keyboard instruments: he played the piano, accordion, synthesizer, vibraphone and marimba in both jazz and symphony. For three consecutive years (1957/58/59) he won the National Jazz referendum, was vibraphonist in the national TV Orchestra and participated in numerous important broadcasts. He received many awards in his career, and numerous are the artists who have wanted to play live alongside him, including Lionel Hampton, Stéphane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt, Piero Piccioni, Armando Trovajoli, Lelio Luttazzi, and more.

In this album released in 1973, the most groovy in his career, and now the most wanted from collectors, he rearranges the compositions of Mario Bertolazzi electronically with the use of synthesizer on rhythms ranging from latin beats to funk.

Numbered limited edition with digital downloads included and an amazing cover with splashes of paint, making each copy unique and unrepeatable.

First ever LP reissue of this ultra-rare Italian soundtrack originaly released on cult CAM label. Gianni Marchetti wrote this beautiful score for the Eurospy filmI Il Magnifico Tony Carrera as he was more of a songwritter than a film composer.
The score includes lots of different atmospheres and arrangements: from fuzzy dark psychedelic themes with harpsichord and haunted choirs (performed by the famous 4 + 4 di Nora O²rlandi) to angelic and dreamy vocal themes. Also contains some tense climax sitar tunes with beautiful bass sound.
Compared to the original CAM LP, this reissue dropped some carnivalesque tracks in order to include some nice unreleased variations of the themes, plus all the suspense cues that were largely removed from the original tracklisting.
Il Magnifico Tony Carrera is definitely a major score of the Italian Silver Age.

Theresa Stroetges has and always will be a traveler. Under the name Golden Diskó Ship or as a member of bands like Soft Grid or the improv collective Epiphany Now!, the Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist has continuously been moving through the fringes of experimental music, but also extensively explored the possibilities of tried and tested formulas - whether folk, rock, techno or pop. With her fourth solo album, her first for the Karaoke Kalk label, the Golden Diskó Ship is yet again venturing into unknown territory. »Araceae« is inspired by environmental changes and the eerie feelings that arise when faced with natural beauty - when everything seems perfect on the surface but something feels off underneath it all. As a whole, it is notably more focused on electronic grooves that provide the foundation for Stroetges’s poetic long-form storytelling.

Partially conceived during a residency in India, »Araceae« is the first Golden Diskó Ship record to feature two guest musicians. For »Wildly Floral, Slightly Damp,« Stroetges collaborated with percussionist Dripta Samajder who with his Sri Khol contributes complex rhythms to a driving beat that wouldn’t be out of place in the record bags of daring DJs. Sophia Trollmann takes over saxophone duties for »Ortolan,« a riveting coming-together of intricate, IDM-flavoured techno and jazz-inspired improvisation. Both are integral standout tracks on an album that clearly follows a holistic plan. Already the opener »Clouds of Neon Limelight« dips into anthemic synth pop territory, but unfolds into a great saga full of ominous undertones and Stroetges’s trademark: layered vocals that at once evoke feelings of uncanniness and intimacy.

It’s a juxtaposition that runs throughout »Araceae,« thus enforcing the album’s overall themes of sensual experience and alienation. »Game of Biryani« for example lends some of its musical structures from pop music, calling into question traditional songwriting conventions which here reappear as irritating echo effects rather than recycled old tropes. With the lush »Limping over the Prairies« and the adventurous »Glow-in-the-Dark Gloves,« Stroetges further challenges her audience by applying noise and a heavy dose of autotune respectively to disorientating effect.

The couple makes for an impressive finale of an album that scrutinises our ideas of what is natural - whether in music or the world around us. »Araceae« was inspired by the travels of its creator, but also sets out to ascertain what lies beyond everything that eyes or ears can perceive.

Ship to Shore is proud to announce the original soundtrack release of Konami’s well-loved RPG classic Esper Dream and it’s follow-up Esper Dream 2, in one release!

Originally released in 1987 on the Famicom Disk System, Esper Dream was a unique departure for RPG games of that era, featuring a protagonist who wielded a gun instead of a sword and who had ESP powers instead of the traditional magic usually seen in similar games. Taking advantage of the Famicom Disk System’s enhanced sound design, Konami Kukeiha Club’s soundtrack sounds several years ahead of its time, featuring funky melodies and multi-layered sound design.

Its sequel, released in 1992, is a natural continuation of what Konami Kukeiha Club achieved in 1987, but with much more refinement. Esper Dream 2: Aratanaru Tatakai is considered one of the best RPGs of its generation by those who were lucky enough to experience it and just listening to the soundtrack alone is enough evidence to regard that as true.

Available on vinyl for the first time, Esper Dream 1 + 2 is a treat for the fine lover of video game music and RPG historians.

Hereby the expanded edition of the sought after Italian soundtrack, comprised of 8 bonus tracks - just released for Season 4 - and composed by roman cult band Mokadelic. The original soundtrack of Gomorrah, the acclaimed Italian television crime drama inspired by Roberto Saviano's 2008 best-selling book Gomorrah. Gomorrah received unprecedented critical acclaim all over the world. The Guardian (uk) called it "The unmissable, ultimate mafia show" and German magazine Spiegel-Online says, "Forget the Sopranos, here they are the Savastanos!" The music from both seasons of Gomorrah is composed and performed by Mokadelic, a Rome based psychedelic-post-rock collective, specializing in music for film. The music of Mokadelic is influenced by the contemporary sounds of such names as Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, and Godspeed You Black Emperor, without forgetting the lessons from the great Italian soundtrack composers of the sixties and seventies. The soundtrack has an eclectic sound palette that alternates from spacious, melancholic atmospheres to extremely dense climaxes. It's an emotionally intense musical narrative, deeply inspired by Gomorrah's haunting realism.

Nils Frahm has always said that he’s just waiting for something real special when being asked if he would ever score the music for a film. And that’s exactly what German director Sebastian Schipperpresented to him with his one-take feature ‘Victoria’. Filmed in Berlin, Victoria’s plot sees a runaway party girl, who's asked by three friendly men to join them as they hit the town, but their wild night of partying suddenly turns into a bank robbery as the music changes from techno to subdued piano sounds.

For the recording session at Studio P4 in Berlin, Frahm enlisted the help of long-time collaborator and cellist Anne Müller, violist Viktor Orri Árnason and ambient artist Erik K. Skodvin of Deaf Center on guitar.

The soundtrack opens with an edit of ‘Burn With Me’ by German producer DJ Koze.

Oneohtrix Point Never follows up his recent productions for ANOHNI and FKA Twigs, with possibly his most ambitious project yet, the award-winning Good Time Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. Recently scooping the best soundtrack award 2017 at Cannes, it features thirteen tracks of electronic wonderment with an incredible and utterly flooring collaboration with none other than Iggy Pop.

Having continuously strived to refine his production skill and style, for us Oneohtrix Point Never truly hit a peak with his 2015 album Garden Of Delete, by crossing left of centre pop notions with a level of electronic futurism that vastly outweighed all his peers, he crafted a record that sounded fresher than anything that had come before, one that also offered up a refreshed new sound pallette. Yet for our money, on the Good Time Original Motion Picture Soundtrack OPN has truly outdone himself once again, and in doing so has created a record so stunning and visually rich that it is sure to see him taking his much deserved place within the highest ranking levels of modern soundtrack composers. By working outside the parameters of the mainstream, OPN's Good Time Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is a world-renowned classic in the making and one that is sure to take pride of place alongside Mica Levi's Under The Skin, Vangelis' Blade Runner, Angelo Badalamenti's Twin Peaks and everything Ennio Morricone has ever done as an all-time classic, and one of the very best moments in the history of cinema soundtracking.

We won't give the game away just yet, but trust us when we say this is one of the year's most special records.

Four Flies launches its new jazz series dedicated to top Italian soundtracks from the 1960’s with this extraordinary work by Piero Piccioni: 3 Notti D’Amore (3 Nights of Love). Originally released in 1964 on CAM – CMS series, this record had a very limited pressing, and is considered one of the grooviest and jazziest scores composed by the legendary Italian maestro. Thanks to the support of an exceptional big band, Piccioni shapes a unique cool style, supported by a truly exotic and percussive rhythm section (“Come on Rome”, “Just For Fun”), full of charming flute phrases (“The Easy Way”) and baritone sax passages (“Pop’s Lolly”), and beautifully played by the two great soloists, Gino Marinacci and Gato Barbieri. Piccioni himself plays the piano on all the tracks, and created a magnificent, dynamic and sophisticated soundtrack. Pressed for the first time in its integrity, this soundtrack includes some missing numbers from the original record, and presents others in their extended full versions, such as “Sally’s Surf” (compiled in the essential Easy Tempo series). A superb album featuring marvelous tracks – from bossa to pop-jazz – this original soundtrack also features a couple of tracks by Carlo Rustichelli; two dreamy, sensually vocalized melodies. One of Piccioni’s lesser known masterpieces that truly embodies that golden time period, and a real beauty for every 60s jazz lover.

Game of Thrones has always featured excellent music. The opening theme is
practically iconic at this point, having been played and covered so many times.
Composer Ramin Djawadi’s heavy, atmospheric tunes have always helped set
the mood, no matter what tone the show is going for at any given time. Starting
May 2018 the music of Game of Thrones can be heard all around the world
during the Live Concert Experience.
In Game of Thrones Season 5, nine noble families fight for control of the
mythical land of Westeros. Political and sexual intrigue is pervasive. Robert
Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard, Lord Stark, to serve
as Hand of the King, or highest official. Secretly warned that the previous Hand
was assassinated, Eddard accepts in order to investigate further. Meanwhile
the Queen’s family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take power.
Across the sea, the last members of the previous and deposed ruling family, the
Targaryens, are also scheming to regain the throne. The friction between the
houses Stark, Lannister, Baratheon and Targaryen and with the remaining great
houses Greyjoy, Tully, Arryn,Tyrell and Martell leads to full-scale war. All while
a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest north. Amidst the war and political
confusion, a neglected military order of misfits, the Night’s Watch, is all that
stands between the realms of men and icy horrors beyond.

Genre:Electronic / Dance, Soundtracks
For Böser Herbst, Thomas Fehlmann returns to the sediment of ages, drawing from a similar lexicon of sounds to that used on 2018’s ‘1929 – Das Jahr Babylon’. Like that album, Böser Herbst was produced as the soundtrack to a documentary made by Volker Heise, ‘Herbst 1929, Schatten Über Babylon’, which offers historical insight to the third season of the television series Babylon Berlin. It adds yet another string to the bow of this most forward-thinking and creative artist, whose history takes in NDW (Palais Schaumburg), techno (3mb) and psychedelic ambience (The Orb), plus a clutch of gorgeous solo albums that explore wide terrain, from the dancefloor through supine home listening to compelling soundtrack work. Fehlmann’s approach here was to ‘capture’ samples of contemporaneous music, “picking up the dirt and dust of original 1920s archive sound and music excerpts and shaping the essence into this selection of tunes,” he recalls. After delivering the material to the editing room, Fehlmann “threw all the pieces up in the air, deliberately lost the overview in consequence, researched the atmospheric thread and assembled it for this album.” That explains the singular nature of the material here, and its ability to sit together so neatly and discretely, as its own entity. For Böser Herbst is a music box of possibilities, shadowed by its historical provenance, but never crudely beholden to it, rather “keeping the references only as a distant nod, a scent.” It’s certainly an evocative listen, a cornucopia of textural pleasure and sensual, tactile assemblage. The spiralling, psychedelic cycle of “Karnickel” winds its way between the ears like thread to the needle; “Mit Ausblick” immerses the listener in deep, gaseous tones, only to be lifted into the air by the glassy drones of “Umarmt”. “Wunschwechsler” crackles with the unpredictability of weather systems while a guitar-like loop unspools across the horizon. Throughout, you can catch tiny tastes of the source material, but they’re pressed into greater service, Fehlmann using these sources for their evocative capacity and then saturating them with grain and rumble, abstracting outwards. It’s a music of temporal disjuncture and clairvoyant resonance, “speaking with the past – alert, distant and quixotic.”
