LP 180gr. /// Tip-On Sleeve /// Features two unreleased tracks taken from the original master tapes

If a jewel were to be chosen amongst the more than three hundred soundtracks that Maestro Stelvio Cipriani has composed during his long and prodigious career, that choice would probably not fall on the super classic and hyper known ANONIMO VENEZIANO, but probably on his previous and less celebrated FEMINA RIDENS – perhaps the most iconic of his soundtracks, along with MARK IL POLIZIOTTO. This work is undoubtedly one of those titles that best represents the spirit of Italian golden age film music, and the original LP, published on CAM series SAG – 9017, is at the very top of every collector’s most wanted list.

The film, directed in 1969 by Piero Schivazappa, is a feminist parable that blends eros perversion, black comics, and Pop Art. And its mood, halfway between cold and playful tones, is perfectly underlined by Cipriani with a soundtrack that fits flawlessly to the dreamlike, grotesque, and sentimental images, combining classical music and orchestral pop, baroque jazz, spaghetti western flavors, psychedelic blues and lounge vibes – all emphasized with sumptuous arrangements that still sound contemporary. A jewel like “Mary’s Theme” is an immortal, timeless track that has been recently sampled by hip-hop producers, and is a demonstration of the eternal modernity of the finest Italian cinematic sound.

This reissue fills a serious gap, finally bringing to the forefront an iconic soundtrack that has remained inaccessible on wax far too long. And it does so in the best possible way, starting from the original master tapes preserved in the CAM archives, from where it was possible to locate an unreleased track (added at the end of side B), as well as allow for an enhanced version of “Chorus and Brass Fugato”, whose original edit has been improved and extended here. And if that weren’t enough, for all you discerning collectors, as well as DJs, Four Flies is also releasing an extra 7-inch record which includes the two most danceable tracks on the entire OST!

Presenting for the first time on vinyl - three tracks taken from one of the most obscure and fascinating scores by Stelvio Cipriani, recorded in 1980 for Joe D’Amato’s exotic-erotic classic, ORGASMO NERO.
"Seq. 1" is an incredible Afro-cosmic cinematic track, driven by superb conga work and other percussive instruments. Side B features the funkier "Seq. 3" (mid-tempo) and "Seq. 5" (downtempo) - both sexy and mysterious at the same time.
Deep, obsessive atmospheres, blending together tropical colors, tribal vibes, and evocative moods.

An amazing disco-prog tune with funky basslines, sustained by obsessive clavinet and lead by a dope space moog. A killer track still underrated and unknown today, where members of Goblin play uncredited. The whole story about the relationship between maestro Stelvio Cipriani and Goblin’s Claudio Simonetti, Fabio Pignatelli, Massimo Morante, and Agostino Marangolo is still to be written

Stelvio Cipriani wrote a rhythmic score with a nostalgic feeling which is then reprised in bossa, suspense, and action music versions. Maestro Cipriani also composed a folk theme to describe the Mafia and Camorra characters who are fighting each other in the film. The LP closes by reprising the folk theme and the main theme. Stelvio Cipriani’s bravura as a piano soloist is also found in this OST. This LP was made possible thanks to the mono masters preserved in the historical archives of the RCA.
Directed in 1979 by Stelvio Massi. Starring Maurizio Merli, Mario Merola, Carmen Scarpitta, Francisco Rabal, Nando Marineo, Massimo Dapporto, Matilde C. Tisano, Massimo Mirani, Remo Varisco, Lidia Costanzo, Gianni Casifa, Anna Canzi, Nino Carillo.

Stelvio Cipriani and his unmistakable style accompany the adventures of the fearless policeman in this soundtrack, with alternating action themes and romantic motifs. In the opening credits, a rhythmic motif with electric guitars and percussion is peacefully introduced by a synthesizer and bells, which is then reprised at the end of the film. He also includes danceable disco themes, Bossa lounge music, music for Brigitte’s striptease in the nightclub and music for the chases. The sad and romantic side of the story is given intense passages with strings that reveal once again the great melodic side of the composer. For this LP, we were able to use the stereo master tapes of the recording session.

Satan is beckoning your ears!
Presented on vinyl for the very first time is Stelvio Copriani's iconic score to director Pier Carpi’s 1979 Italian occult-themed movie, Un’ombra nell’ombra. A virtuous synth explosion composed by Maestro Cipriani and performed by the classic Goblin line-up.
The result of this special Cipriani-Goblin rendezvous is an elegant and dark sound full of deep bass and obsessive rhythms, with an innovative and experimental electronic background mxanipulated with synth and exotic percussion.
Contains the classic horror theme "Deathwatch", compiled in an essential CAM library release (Electronic Sound – CML 182), and later used in the slasher cult movie Pieces.
This album is an absolute must-have for fans of Italian horror, video nasty VHS aficionados, and soundtrack and library connoisseurs.

Another legendary jam on Fonit Library series 'Hi-Fi International' composed by maestro Stelvio Cipriani. Probably written for some obscure movie, this infamous session from 1976 recently discovered immediately became a grail for DJs and collectors. Outstanding Score vibes, several Western and Romantic movie themes in the vein of Ennio Morricone are alternated by some insane beats and spacey Avant-garde. The mindmelting groove of "Notte Delle Streghe" is an incredible Experimental arrangement of 'In A Gadda Vida' notes with a killer esoteric style and true top notch stuff for any samples hunter. Fantastic Italian Library LP, impossible to find on its original! This remastered 180gram LP is limited to 600 copies and comes with a flipback sleeve replica of the original edition.

Maestro Cipriani is one of the most known and appreciated composers of Italian soundtracks, whose unmistakable style makes it one of the most appreciated and collected. "Rhythmical Movement" came out only as a promo-library LP for CAM records in 1980 and is therefore a very rare album pressed in limited quantity. But what impresses most is the high level content and, as explicitly expressed in the title, no rhythm decreases. After a jazz intro depart sequentially tunes full of funk, soul, samba and disco, with references also to the classic tradition of Italian poliziotteschi for which Cipriani is the absolute Master. Alternating on a drum and congas base are wahwah guitar, but also often distorted as in fierce riffs of "Storm in a teacup" and "Do not tamper with my things", piano-electric and horns. Two tracks, "What can I do" and "Living and Loving" were composed with Michael Fraser, the famous UK musician and producer very active in Italy since the early 70s. Also of note are the curious "Percussion Gun" and "Chicago U.S.A." built on the popular bassline of "In-a-Gadda-da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly. An unmissable record to listen and dance to, with a wonderful minimal mirror-cover with title in relief. A limited edition of 500 copies that includes a digital download code.
