30,59 €* 35,99 € -15%
Release:1980 / US – Reissue
Genre:Rock / Indie
The release is limited to 246 copies. French acid folk with stoned vocals, Julien Grycan's privately released album was made for a French car lot as a way to attract customers. Never distributed, this reverb laden, emotion filled album was originally limited to 200 copies, but many were disposed making it a rare artifact. Influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and the psychedelic years of Herve Cristiani whom Julien befriended. Having been a cartoonist at the time, the artwork was originally done by Julien himself, however due to financial constraints he wasn't able to print in color. This release offers the artwork in full color for the first time, as was originally intended. For fans of Beautiful Losers, the 1st Manset, Denis, Celebration (Old Green Village) etc..
Bob Theil - Songs From The Margin

Songs From The Margin
LP | 2016 | US | Original (Strawberry Rain)
27,19 €* 31,99 € -15%
Release:2016 / US – Original
Genre:Rock / Indie
Bob Theil's self proclaimed opus, ‘Songs from the Margin’ was supposed to be the follow-up album to ‘So Far’ which debuted in 1982. The project spanned seven years with ‘Fading Ways, Fadings Faces’ being written as far back as 1977, and the remainder of the album being written between 1982 and 1984. Sadly this project was finished but never went as far as being released until now. The material on ‘So Far’ didn’t translate well to the climate of the folk club scene of that time, so the Margin songs that Bob was writing at the time (along with other material) were an effort on his part to create music that reflected his admiration for the Sandy Denny/Richard Thompson area of modernized folk and rock. It was also an attempt to have material that would be more suited to performing at folk clubs. With ‘So Far’ being considered one of, if not the best folk records from the 80’s, this is a sure buy for many collectors. Top shelf material.
Keith Mlevhu - The Bad Will Die

The Bad Will Die
LP | 2015 | US | Original (Strawberry Rain)
25,49 €* 29,99 € -15%
Release:2015 / US – Original
Genre:Organic Grooves
Anthology of arguably Zambia's most prolific artist. Infamous in Zamrock circles, Keith's name is often mentioned alongside Paul Ngozi and Witch as one of the Zamrock Era greats. A solo artist to a fault, outside of allowing Cosmos Zani to play keyboard occasionally, Keith played all the instruments on his albums, including using a megaphone to manipulate his voice on some songs. He also went against the grain and created his own MAC BULLET imprint as opposed to going with any of the more significant Zambian labels. Winning the Zambian polls for Best Solo Artist in 1977, he finished second to the Ngozi Family's "Heavy Metal" album for Album Of The Year in 1978, and was also runner up for Best Guitarist, Best Bassist and Best Vocalist in the same polls. This is the first time his finest moments have been collected as a set, and the first release he's had outside of Zambia since the WEA/France reissue of his second album 'Love & Freedom' in 1978. It also includes music never released on LP before, a song from a private press 45 which is by far his rarest offering outside of his unreleased 'One Man Band' and 'Aqualung' albums. Fans of Zambian Rock (Witch, AMANAZ, Salty Dog, The Peace, Harry Mwale & Ricky Illilonga) will love this one!
Survival - Simmer Down
Simmer Down
LP | 2014 | US | Reissue (Strawberry Rain)
21,99 €*
Release:2014 / US – Reissue
Genre:Organic Grooves, Rock / Indie
While bands like Ofege and BLO have slowly become household names for collectors, there are still many Nigerian bands and albums that have remained unknown in most circles. Survival's lone effort 'Simmer Down' is one of those albums. Primarily an Afro Rock album, it contains psychedelic, soul, afrobeat, funky and progressive moments, all done in a raw nature with unpolished mixes and an underlying consistency that doesn't lose the listener. Songs are filled with fuzz guitar solos, flute solos & organ solos. Recorded by a group of talented High School students at the legendary ARC studio owned by ex-CREAM drummer Ginger Baker, this album seems to have remained under the radar until now. Filled with complete notes by the band with photos and history, including a story detailing a battle against OFEGE at the infamous 'Space Funk' competition. A limited edition pressing of 1000 copies on LP, with insert and photos and CD with 12 page booklet. A true gem from Nigeria, and one you won't find an original for anytime soon.

One of the true gems of the Indonesian scene, this album stands to be one of the best, and also one of the most unique albums to come from the region. Banned by the Shuko government soon after release, it remains somewhat obscure to most collectors up until now.
