Cathy Berberian
Pop Art
LP | 2017 | EU | Original (Vinyl Ermitage)
13,99 €*
Release:2017 / EU – Original
Genre:Klassik
Cathy Berberian turned toward this repertory, critically, but with love. And even if she maintained a certain dose of ironical distance, she never stooped to parody. It would be a mistake to think she had any similarity to Paolo Poli in La Nemica. She had a repertory to explore according to the instructions of Proust, and she explored it with the same devotion that she had applied to the music of Berio or Bussotti. In this recital she explores the most varied vocal territories: from traditional songs to Berio and to… the Beatles. In this labyrinthine voice is a release for all vocals lovers.

Yolanda Cristina Gigliotti (17 January 1933 – 3 May 1987), better known as Dalida, was an Egyptian-born Italian-French singer and actress who performed and recorded in more than ten languages, including Arabic, Italian, Greek, German, French, English, Japanese, Hebrew, Dutch and Spanish. In 1961, she acquired French citizenship upon marriage, while maintaining her original Italian one. This compilation traces her earlier roots with a selection of 12 fine tracks, now regarded as pop classics. A stunning interpretation of Ciao Ciao Bambina (written by famous italian songwriter and pop celebrity Domenico Modugno, the same author of internationally admired ‘Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu’) and ‘Romantica’ (written by commedia Renato Rascel) are among the best moments of this marvelous collection.

Release:2017 / EU – Original
Genre:Organic Grooves, Rock / Indie
Such an incredible compilation of singles recorded by Mina in the sixties for the Spanish and South American market. Some of them are original versions written by Spanish and Latin composers, some others were written in English and then translated. Some of them are huge successes performed by the so-called 'Tigre di Cremona' (Il Cielo In Una Stanza, Mi Vuoi Lasciar). Of great interest is the Spanish version of the immortal “Dindi” (written by António Carlos Jobim) and “Un Desierto” (Heisser Sand) originally recorded for the German market and then immediately translated in Italian as ‘Si, Lo So’.
