Wah Wah 45s are proud to present the first release from Afro-dub stalwarts and brand new signings, Soothsayers. Having been fans of this influential South London based outfit for the best part of two decades now, it's come as a great thrill to finally, officially welcome them to the fold. These four brand new recordings, issued rather beautifully on ten-inches of wax with bespoke sleeve artwork and featuring the imagery of Polish photographer Kazimierz Zagórski, draw from the kaleidoscope of influences that have forged the Soothsayers sound. For the new listener they provide a window into the world of a band that have explored a myriad of forms, developing the groove and philosophy that originally shepherded these musicians onto a common path. For the seasoned fan, these tracks provide a fresh take on some live favourites, including re-workings of Afro-jazz favourites, and expansive vocal versions of classic Soothsayer dubs.

Following on from the success of their EP and its subsequent remix project on Wah Wah 45s, South London Afro-dub warriors Soothayers deliver the first offering from their forthcoming album, Tradition, to be released in June."Dis Cant be right, Dat can't be right" is the chorus response on new single, Dis & Dat. So, how long is this song you might wonder as in 2018 there seems to be so many things that sit at odds with each other that verses could go on for an eternity. However, Soothsayers list of issues is succinct - Dis & Dat is not a lesson in politics or socio-economics, but rather a song aimed at bringing us together and something we could all sing if No. 45 (we can't say his name) ever dares to visit our shores, or at any event where a current Government minister is the main attraction.Quotes from two Jamaican greats - "Sharpen the small axe, cut the big tree, the hotter the battle, the sweeter the victory" - reignite hope in the power of human action and resistance via some uplifting big Afro grooves, Soothsayers style.Remixes on this vibrant new singles come from erstwhile Fila Brazillia legend Steve Cobby who comes up with a trademark mid-tempo four-to-the-floor dub-infused stomper; while young gun and rising star, Ben Hauke, conjures up a foot friendly, percussive broken latin gem a la 4-Hero that's already doing lots of business on the dance floor.Dis & Dat is released on February 9th both digitally and on hand-stamped 12", limited to just 100 copies, also featuring the SMBD Warrior Dub of Blinded Souls, on vinyl for the very first time.Previous radio support comes from Tom Ravenscroft, Huey Morgan and Craig Charles on BBC 6Music, as well as David Rodigan and Jazzie B.Soothsayers will be celebrating this release with a unique full live show at The Jazz Café in London on Friday February 9th, alongside sets from Ben Romans-Hopcraft (of Childhood fame) and Miles Wu-Lu, the twin sons of frontman Robin Hopcraft.

Following on from the success of their first EP on Wah Wah 45s, released earlier this year, South London Afro-dub warriors Soothayers return with a myriad of remixes from some of the UK's finest producers, and some of their most talented friends and family.Lead track from their previous EP, Blinded Souls, gets a foursome of very different re-works. South coast dance floor destroyer Titeknots follows up his energetic remix for Dele Sosimi with more bass worrying tropical house mayhem; hugely influential producer from the Worldwide Family, SMBD AKA Simbad, provides both a classic disco-house mix and a subversive rolling future Warrior Dub interpretation; and very much part of the family, Miles Wu-Lu (son of Soothsayers front man Robin Hopcraft) comes through with a throbbing Afro-electronica gem of a remix.Elsewhere, magnificent club-jazz workout Eagle Song is transformed into a meditative 115bpm electronic beauty for the more discerning dance floor by Albert's Favourite Deoke, AKA Dave Koor; and the righteous Refugee is served with a suitably sultry dub from Resonators producer Darren Jamtone.

On 30thMarch, Wah Wah 45s will release ORANGE WHIP, the new album by their latest signing, Honeyfeet. The outfit, who have received praise from the likes of The Guardian, have also set festivals alight up and down the country with their unique melange of sounds. For the last couple of years the Honeyfeet (who name from a line in the Blues Brothers film) have been a conduit for the ideas and expressions of an exotic mixture of Manchester based musicians. This genre-defying band incorporate styles including jazz, folk and hip hop into their music. Someone once called it Folk-Hop and Barrelhouse-pop, and that's just vague enough to make sense.
