Kondi Band return with their long-awaited sophomore album, 'We Famous' as Sorie Kondi, Chief Boima (INTL BLK) and Will LV join forces once more for another essential dose of Freetown freestyle.Following on from their 'Salone' album in 2016 and the massive single 'Yeanoh', the new recordings further hone the group's unique fusions of Sorie Kondi's inimitable vocals and the kondi thumb piano with intricate dancefloor electronics. The album was gradually recorded over a period of four years with Sorie on the road in Belgium, Spain and Canary Islands with the main production collaboration between Boima in Los Angeles and Will in London. The result is a varied and colourful set of tracks infusing Boima and Will's wide-ranging dancefloor influences. Infectious first single 'She Doesn't Love You' features guest vocalist Mariama Jalloh speaking home truths about rejection while future 4/4 dancefloor anthem 'It's God's World..' features a mighty bassline from prolific L.A. musician / producer Sweatson Klank. 'Sweetness Don Don' ramps up the dub and sound system energy while 'How Will It Be For Me In This World' sparkles on a bed of electronic textures and kondi lines.

Strut Records ist ein 1998 von Quinton Scott gegründetes, auf Reissues, Raritäten und Besonderes spezialisiertes Plattenlabel aus London. Seit 2008 ist es ein Sublabel von !K7 Records. Die Geschichte von Strut Records hat zwei Phasen. In der ersten Phase von 1998 bis 2003 hat Quinton Scott von sich und seinem Label durch sein feines Gespür für musikalische Entdeckungen und die liebevolle Umsetzung in Form von tollen Aufmachungen und Booklets Reden gemacht. Besonders in den Bereichen Italo Disco, Afrobeat und Calypso hat Quinton Scott echte Perlen gefunden. Allerdings wurde er durch diese Aufopferung für gute Musik auch in seine Schranken gewiesen und zu einer Pause gezwungen. In der zweiten Phase seit 2008 stieg das Berliner Plattenlabe !K7 Records ein und wiederbelebte Strut Records. Eine neues Studio wurde eingeweiht und mit ihm eine Labelreihe, in der Musiker mit verschiedenen Horizonten erstmals aufeinandertrafen. Informaton Inspiration, so der Name der Reihe, war ein Erfolg und brachte Sly Robbie mit Amp Fiddler, Mulatu Astatke mit The Heliocentrics oder Jimi Tenor mit Tony Allen zusammen. Ein weiteres Highlight war Grandmaster Flash’s erstes Studioalbum, The Bridge, seit 20 Jahren.
