Die Bedeutung hinter dem Acylick LA Riots Tank Top: "Los Angeles is home to one of the worse riots in U.S. history. Rodney King, a man whom was beaten almost to death by several LAPD officers during a traffic stop, was the victim of blatant injustice both when being beaten and when treated to an unfair trial. When Rodney King’s trial verdict came in favor of the officers, citizens of Los Angeles had enough of the injustices. This unjust verdict was the single spark that ignited the turmoil and rage of thousands. Civilians revolted and took their emotions out on the streets. 53 people were killed, more than 2,000 were injured, and a total amount of more than 1 billion dollars was charged in damages. LA was an urban warzone fueled by anger and hate. The city was changed forever.

We used this piece of history as inspiration for this design. The riots, though unfortunate, serve as a reminder that injustice will not be tolerated. This riot was not only a consequence, but serves as an eye opener for higher authorities that regularly abuse their power and rarely see consequences.

With this design, we are not glamourizing the riots, but more so reminding all of us to never forget. Our design features 3m reflective ink in the print. It symbolizes that corruption and injustice cannot be hidden. Everything will eventually be revealed and seen clearly once a bit of light is shed upon it. We encourage everyone to constantly show things as they are, and emit only the truth without filters. If we do that, hopefully injustices can be remedied before they escalate, and unfortunate events like the L.A. riots never have to reoccur."
