First released in 2000, the original Flcl is a coming-of-age anime set in the fictional Japanese city of Mabase revolving around an alien detective, Haruko, who seeks the space pirate king, and Naota, a sullen young man facing the tribulations of adolescence. The original series of Flcl was eventually followed by Flcl Progressive and Flcl Alternative, which continued to follow Haruko as she careens through the lives of young people in her ongoing hunt. Two more series of Flcl – Flcl Grunge and Flcl Shoegaze – were recently announced for release in 2023.

Produced by the studios Production I.G. and Gainax, the Flcl series have become beloved outside of Japan for its unique animation style, robust action sequences, and unforgettable soundtrack. The music to Flcl was composed and performed by the Japanese alternative rock band the pillows. Flcl Season 1 Vol. 2 (Original Soundtrack and Drama Album) contains music by the pillows from the first season of the show, as well as a series of Japanese audio drama tracks. This two LP release includes 16 tracks pressed on purple vinyl and blue marble vinyl housed in a gatefold jacket along with a credit insert.

For the first time on 7’’, the two grooviest tracks from the soundtrack composed by Riz Ortolani for “Confessione di un commissario di polizia al procuratore della Repubblica” (aka, “Confessions of a Police Captain”), the renowned 1971 crime drama by Damiano Damiani, starring Franco Nero at the peak of his career. A succession of irresistible and elegant jazz-funk breaks, practically tailor-made for sampling.

Great classic and timeless tune of the 80s and French Boogie scene, « Histoire d’1 Soir (Bye bye les galères) » is an ode to party, liberty, youth and freedom, interpreted by Bibi Flash aka Brigitte Gasté, an atypical singer from the French Boogie.

With its light lyrics and mythical chorus, its euphoria and irresistible disco-rap vibe, this track produced by Philippe Renaux (Holly Guns, Clever, Pianola…) released in 1983 is a sincere photography of its time, during which these children of the « summer of love » and May 68 criss-crossed Paris in search of endless nights, pleasure and freedom.

A prized and rare record which is nowadays repressed by Barbecue imprint in 2021, in its 12’’ version, with the original, the Disco Mix, instrumental and the A Cappella, and is accompanied by a new modern and festive edit by French house producer Blutch.

This is a collection of recordings by Geoff Bastow, English composer active in the 1970s to 1980s, preserved on the prestigious German library label "SONOTON." The opening resonates with dazzling synthesizer phrases, and the dynamic sound created by the incorporated drum machine in an inorganic manner can be considered the very essence of synth-wave or perhaps futuristic funk.

The discography of the phantom Gruppo Sound exceeds over thirty titles published in an undefined time frame between the Eighties and the Nineties. However, there is very little information about this curious pseudonym. it is possible to find a library music album by Gruppo Sound inside the Canopo, Deneb, Flower, Monosound Records and Teams catalogues, all managed by Flipper Music publishing group, but both the creators and the musicians have never been the same. Gruppo Sound is only a collective name, maybe to identify a certain number of 'new' productions characterized by an electronic background And, not by chance, the author of “New York City” is a single artist, the multi-instrumentalist Gabriele Ducros. Son of the prolific composer Remigio Ducros, he first followed his footsteps in the field of music libraries and soundtracks and then become the author of many tracks for television commercials of a certain relevance, winning some international awards. “Some of these tracks may have been associated with a pornographic film. Others were, however, made as brief comments for a theatrical show, perhaps never made”, remembers Gabriele Ducros. What unites the thirteen pieces is the same musical language, which derives from a widespread funk and jazz matrix. Both genres are thus declined through a different approach and taste, in line with the fusion trends of the time, when the early synthesizers were used by few artists. A handful of electric guitar notes for a 'urban' mood, the acoustic ones from a dreamy morning awakening. Electronic keyboards to arouse a sense of nostalgia in the listener, while flute and saxophone always punctuate different atmospheres. A computer melody, a theme for children and a sophisticated ode to the fusion sound of the Big Apple, perhaps true source of ispiration of the work. “New York City” is not a concept album, but one of the best cross-sections of Gabriele Ducros' great creativity.

We’re thrilled to announce a reissue of Piero Umiliani’s soundtrack to the 1969 giallo thriller “Orgasmo” (called “Paranoia” in English speaking countries), the first of three erotically charged films directed by Umberto Lenzi and starring cult siren (and Oscar nominee) Carroll Baker. Back in 2020, we unveiled the first-ever release of this iconic soundtrack, whose master tapes were thought lost for decades. Due to popular demand, this reissue, unlike the 2020 release, bears the film’s original Italian title. The LP comes in a lavish 650-gram single tip-on jacket adorned with new artwork.

Bullet Train is the 2022 American action-comedy film by the Deadpool 2-director David Leitch and is based on the 2010 novel Maria Beetle, written by Kōtarō Isaka. In Bullet Train, Brad Pitt stars as Ladybug, an unlucky assassin determined to do his job peacefully after one too many gigs gone off the rails. Fate, however, may have other plans, as Ladybug's latest mission puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the globe – all with connected, yet conflicting, objectives – on the world's fastest train...and he's got to figure out how to get off.

The film features a number of original tracks. Most notably, the film contains Japanese language covers of "Stayin' Alive" by Bee Gees and "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler. Composer Dominic Lewis noted that the film's soundtrack represents "all vibe and no technique".

The soundtrack for Bullet Train is available on vinyl and comes in different editions, all based on the characters in the movie. All editions include a 4-page booklet, but each edition contains an exclusive Bullet Train boarding pass with corresponding picture of the character. “La Morte Ha Fatto l’Uovo” (1968), here reissued for the very first time on vinyl, is a unique score characterized by avant-garde sounds that combine with the bright tones of an atypical thriller that pays homage to the cinema of Luis Buñuel.

“La Morte Ha Fatto L’Uovo” (Death Laid an Egg) is a 1968 detective movie directed by Giulio Questi, featuring an international cast whose main actors are Ewa Aulin, Gina Lollobrigida and Jean-Louis Trintignant; the warm and bright tones of its photography strongly contrast against the dark and gloomy atmospheres and plot. The soundtrack of the film, composed and directed by Bruno Maderna, is even more peculiar and distant from the typical sounds of the time, and from almost any other soundtrack released in the 60s: there’s no trace of beat or psychedelia at all, but rather a collection of abstract and dissonant compositions, which we could classify as avant-garde and partly associate with certain experiments made by a contemporary group called Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, but also with the less common side of the library music genre. All the songs were created with the sole use of strings, acoustic guitar, piano and spoken word. A truly unique work, unpredictable and almost impossible to categorize!

Always a carny at heart, Friedman gravitated towards the sleazy independent film world, where he started a new company and ushered in a decade of his greatest films. Always brimming with bodaciously bare beauties and copious carnality – which became his tawdry trademark. From 1964-1975, he wrote and produced roughies, historical costume dramas (based on literary classics), counter culture time capsules, wild wanton westerns, various soft-X sizzlers, an elaborate jungle epic and perhaps the worst sci-fi movie ever committed to celluloid.

But what ties all of these films together is the ballyhoo. Friedman sure knew how to craft an auditory advertising campaign to got ‘em in the theatres. He was the king of alliteration and catchy taglines and his coming attractions were among the best and most entertaining of their time. Many of the trailers and radio spots utilized all-original compositions and scores from Billy Allen – a composer/conductor Friedman enlisted to set his films apart from all the other smut peddlers.

As “adults only” films were getting more explicit in the ‘70s, Friedman longed for the good old days of sin and skin. He only dabbled in the XXX world for a short time before retiring. So, listen up and get ready to have your ears spanked hard!

Following their collaboration on 2021"s Oscar winning Drive My Car, Eiko Ishibashi & filmmaker Ryusuke Hamaguchi up the ante with a deeply inspired synergistic exchange: music for images, visuals for sounds. Eiko"s score initiated the project that has become his celebrated new film (Best Picture - BFI London Film Fest, Asian Film Awards, Silver Lion - Venice Film Fest, Best Score - Asia Film Awards). Eiko"s compositions are scored for violin, cello, guitar, drums and keyboards. One of the most watched films on Shudder since its release, the Tony D’Aquino Australian survival horror slasher has been building itself a cult following for its inventive kills, excessive gore, and hammering score. The Furies tells the story of Kayla, a young girl who is kidnapped. When she wakes up in a black coffin in the middle of a forest she quickly learns that she and others are being hunted by a group of masked men as part of a deadly game. The film is a mash-up of The Running Man meets Friday the 13th. The score is a tension filled orchestral murder spree that does not let up throughout the film. It’s a pummeling masterwork of precise timing, tempo, and dread. How exactly do you write music to a scene involving a masked madman using an axe to slice the skin off a woman’s face? Lampl and Axelholm were tasked with just that, and they killed it! Kenneth Lampl has scored over 100 films, and recently released the score to the hit film Sissy. He studied film composing under a fellowship with John Williams. This special vinyl release features brand new artwork by artist Brad Mrock on a deluxe limited jacket that has spot UV gloss on the front covers titles.
