Collection, processing and use of personal data

Data protection is very important to us. Therefore, we strictly follow the regulations of the Federal Data Protection Act and the Telemedia Act when collecting, processing and using your personal data. We collect, save and process your data when you contact HHV, take part in our online raffles or subscribe to our newsletter, as well as for the whole purchase procedure (including possible later warranties), our customer service, the technical administration and for our own marketing purposes. When processing your purchase, your personal data might be exchanged with third parties or otherwise, if it is required for settling the contract or billing or when you have agreed to the exchange beforehand. For example, the data required for processing your order will be passed on to our associated service providers (carriers, logistics companies, banks). The customer information transmitted through these procedures are only to be used by our service providers for the purpose of their tasks on our behalf. Further use of your personal data is strictly forbidden and does not take place with our associated service providers.
In order to process your order, we need correct information concerning your name, your address and your payment details. For confirmation and communication purposes, we need your e-mail-address, too. We also use your e-mail-address to verify your identity (customer log-in). In addition, you will receive confirmation concerning your order or shipping details via e-mail.

Your data will be stored according to the legal regulations. Hence, your personal data will be deleted when there is no legal obligation to retain your data, when the data have expired the purpose of their original recording, when you exercise your right of cancellation or when the storing is no longer permitted due to other legal reasons.

Wording of the contract – storage and accessibility

We save the wording of the contract and send you an overview of your order via e-mail. Our terms and conditions can be acknowledged here at all times. As a registered customer, you can always view all your previous orders in the customer’s log-in-area.

Use of Cookies

On several sites we use cookies to make visiting our website attractive and to allow the use of certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer. Most of the cookies used on our webserver will be deleted from your hard drive after the browser session (so-called session cookies). Using your data for marketing purposes

In addition to processing your personal data for the purchase procedure at HHV, we also use your data in order to communicate with you concerning your orders, certain products or marketing campaigns. Your data also helps us to recommend products or services that might be of interest to you. At any times, you can object to HHV using your personal data for marketing purposes, either in general or in specific cases. There will be no charges other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates. A notice in text form (e.g. e-mail, fax or letter) issued to the contact details listed in section 1 below will be sufficient.

Newsletter

For dispatching our newsletter, we use a procedure called double-opt-in. This means that you will only receive a newsletter if you specifically ask for one. You can subscribe to our newsletter by clicking the respective link in our confirmation e-mail.

When you have registered for the HHV-newsletter, we will use the data provided in the registration process only to send you the newsletter. No personal data will be transmitted to third parties, unless they are partner companies responsible for technical processing when dispatching the newsletter. However, in these cases, the amount of the data transferred is limited to the necessary minimum. Our privacy policy strictly accords to the Federal Data Protection Act (“Bundesdatenschutzgesetz“, BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (“Telemediengesetz”, TMG)

If you do not wish to receive our newsletter or marketing information any more, you can unsubscribe for free at all times. In order to do so, please click the unsubscribe link that you can find in all HHV e-mails and then make your changes. Alternatively, e-mail-preferences can be adjusted in your customer’s account.

Product recommendations via e-mail

As a HHV-customer, you will regularly receive product recommendations via e-mail. You will receive recommendations irrespective of whether or not you have subscribed for our newsletter. This way, we want to inform you about company products that you might find interesting, based on your previous orders. During this procedure, we strictly retain to the legal regulations. If you do not wish to receive product recommendations or any other commercial messages, you may object at any time. There will be no charges other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates. A notice in text form (e.g. e-mail, fax or letter) issued to the contact details listed in section 1 below will be sufficient. Of course, you can also find a link for unsubscribing in every e-mail.

Disclosure of personal data

A transmission of personal data takes place only to the shipping company that we outsource the delivery of your order, as they are required to deliver the goods. For the processing of payments your payment information will be transferred only to the credit institute responsible for your payment.

Right to information

According to the Federal Data Protection Act you have a right to free information about your stored data, and to the right to correct, block or delete this data.

Data Security

Your personal data is encrypted in the ordering process via SSL standard transmitted over the Internet. Credit card information is not stored, but directly collected and processed from our payment services provider “ipayment” by 1& 1 Internet AG. We secure our website and other systems through technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification or distribution of your data by unauthorized persons. The access to your account is only possible by entering your personal password. You should keep your access information confidential and close the browser window when you have finished your communications with us, especially if you share the computer with others.

Use of social Plugins

On our website, we have embedded so-called social plugins by Facebook, Pinterest and AddThis. These plugins are being run exclusively by the respective networks.

Use of Facebook components

Our website employs components provided by facebook.com. Facebook is a service of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA.

Each time our website receives an access request equipped with a Facebook component, the component prompts your browser to download an image of this Facebook component. Through this process, Facebook is informed precisely which page of our website is being visited.

Use of AddThis-Plugins

Our website uses so-called Social Plugins („Plugins“) created and run by the book-marking service AddThisLLC, Inc. 8000 Westpark Drive, Suite 625, McLean, VA 2210, USA („AddThis“). Once you view a page that belongs to our web presence and that also contains the above mentioned Plugins, your browser will be connected directly to the AddThis servers. The Plugin will then feedback information to your browser and the site you are visiting. Through this connection AddThis also registers that your browser has visited this page and to identify your browser in the future saves a cookie on your end device.
