ProstitutesShatter And Lose
Donadio has been steadily gaining increased attention over the past year, from 2012's Psychedelic Black debut album, through a split with Basic House for Opal Tapes, to 2013's critically lauded Crushed Interior on Digitalis. Despite being loosely aligned with a growing underground of US artists cross-pollinating between techno and noise, what's so beguiling about his work as Prostitutes is its refusal to occupy any one stylistic space. Drawing in traits from post-punk and avant-funk as much as club music and noise, it's a perfect fit for Diagonal, whose output to date has occupied similarly tough-to-define in-between zones.
