Ein kleiner Chat, für sich genommen schon große Kunst. Dazu ein Gesangsschnipsel aus dem Smartphone: „Alte Fotos, alte Fotos, alte Fotos – junge Menschen haben keine [Repeat]“. Kaum einen Tag dauerte es und DECKOS lieferte die Bestellung. Und da stand er, der erste Song – und, in a nutshell, Konzept und Versuchsaufbau des jüngsten Albums von Maurice Summen, Staatsakt-Labelmacher und Sänger/Songschreiber von Die Türen und einem sich weit verzweigenden Netz weiterer Projekte.
Es heißt „PayPalPop“, ist eine Art Corona-Album (sic!), sein erstes Solo-Album im Wortsinn und zugleich eines, das das Prinzip des kooperativen Arbeitens wie kein anderes von der ersten bis zur letzten Note in sich trägt. Denn es besteht ausschließlich aus Stücken, die Summen bei einer Anzahl an Producer*innen weltweit in Auftrag gegeben hat, von Menschen sounddesignt, von denen er nie zuvor gehört hatte, einem Haufen Nicknames in der weltweiten Cloud.
