Item Description

Berlin based label Schakal’s first EP comes from AntiAlias, one of its two founders and is called "Somber Clarity". The title track makes us think of the return into the early morning light, but could just as easily be a reminder to those dark and delirious hours that came before. A rumbling bassline is acompanied by dub driven chords and a dark melody that decides at the last moment to become hopeful again. On the flipside, we have Midas 104 & Jonas Saalbach collaborating on the Remix. They take the dubby feel of the original, interweave it with flickering arps and bright and melodic atmospheres that reach their climax in a big, emotional breakdown that rounds out this EP.
