Item Description

In the '50s, several years before man landed on the moon, Tom Dissevelt captured the essence of space moods and science fiction esthetics. 'Fantasy In Orbit' contains the blueprint for a future sound, later recognized as electronic music. One can hear everything from bachelor pad exotica to avant-garde electronics, and even a primitive precursor to acid house. It's music that could've been the soundtrack to '2001 A Space Odyssey', as Stanley Kubrick requested the music for a new space project he was working on. However, the duo of Dissevelt and his partner in crime Kid Baltan had never heard of Kubrick, so they ignored his letter. Edition of 300 LP's pressed on audiophile vinyl.
