Onslaught, the British thrash metal band, formed in 1983 by guitarist Nige Rockett and drummer Steve Grice, initially drew influence from the second wave of Punk bands. In 1984 Jase Stallard and Paul Mahoney joined and The band began to write more Heavy Metal songs than their original punk sound. This was mainly influenced by the early releases of Thrash Metal bands. The output of this was the 1985 release of Power from Hell on the Children of the Revolution record label.

“Power from Hell” came into a time when satanic imagery was labelled "childish Venom worship" and Black Metal was a swear word terrifying musicians labelled as such. Their convincing powerful Black Thrash is as enjoyable in 2007 as it was in 1985 – Every song on this Blackend re-release is Thrash with class!!!

The release (which consists of the entirety of Godflesh's 1989 studio album Streetcleaner performed live) was recorded on 14 April 2011 at the Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Netherlands. Apart from being the group's debut live album, it was also the first time they played Streetcleaner in its entirety. This performance marks the first of three times Godflesh played an entire album live at Roadburn. Dormant for nearly a third of a century, originally formed in 1982 by (then) bassist Damian Thompson & drummer Andy Baker (joined by Freaky Freeman on vox & Anarchy Mole on guitar).Warwound spat & cursed out three demos of 'fast, no bullshit, hardcore punk' through late 82/early 83.Heavily influenced by the sounds of the time (Discharge, Crass, Rudimentary Peni, Motorhead, Bad Brains etc) the band played a handful of gigs around the midlands area of the U.K. before in the autumn of 1983 Damian & Andy were enlisted to join the Varukers. Warwound as it was, ceased to be. During their time in the Varukers, the pair recorded two Warwound numbers which were to be featured on the classic Varukers album 'Another Religion, Another War'. Since that time some thirty years ago, the original Warwound demo tapes have been copied and circulated many times through underground circles of D-beat noise enthusiasts. The emergence of Sacrilege in 1984 also added to keep interest alive in the old Warwound material. These hugely influential recordings (25 tracks, 15 songs in various versions) are made commercially available for the first time, and with a brand new version of the band (featuring original member Damian Thompson alongside past and present members of Varukers, Discharge, Stamping Ground, Decadence Within , Sacrilege and others)

The Power Cosmic is BAL-SAGOTH's fourth album, released in 1999. The album was Bal-Sagoth's first recording for Nuclear Blast! The album title itself is a reference to the superpowers possessed by Galactus and the Silver Surfer, and was chosen primarily because Byron Roberts (lyricist/vocalist) is a great admirer of Marvel Comics. Atlantis Ascendant is the fifth studio album by English metal band Bal-sagoth. It was released in April 2001 through Nuclear Blast. This was the first Bal-Sagoth album to be recorded (albeit only partially) with digital recording technology. The album's primary story and lyrical concept as written by vocalist-lyricist Byron Roberts centres on the exploits of a fictional nineteenth century British archaeologist and adventurer named Professor Caleb Blackthorne III, who has dedicated his life to the field of antediluvian anthropology and to seeking out evidence as to the true nature of humanity's origin. The debut album, Like An Ever Flowing Stream from 1991, clearly showed that Dismember are an uncompromising band which resulted in their rise to cult status and within a short period of time the album took the scene by storm. Extensive touring with bands like Death, Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse showed that Dismember are a live force to be reckoned with and the number of fans grew steadily. The band then released the 5-track EP, "Pieces", and went out on tour again with Napalm Death and Obituary. They played for thousands of fans throughout Europe thus reinforcing their status as one of the best live bands on earth. The second album, Indecent & Obscene, sounded more mature and accessible than its predecessor without casting aside the band's Death Metal roots. The tour which followed (with Deicide, Suffocation and Vader) took Dismember to America for the first time where they left an astonished audience behind after tearing through the US of A like a runaway train before returning to Europe to take part in the first Nuclear Blast Festival tour with label mates Hypocrisy, Amorphis and Benediction. 1995 saw the release of the third album, Massive Killing Capacity, through which Dismember became a legend in their own right. The Swedes had never been better.

This is definitely one of the best death metal releases in many, many years.

"Sumerian Cry" is the debut album by Swedish gothic metal veterans Tiamat, originally released in 1990. The album was recorded at Sunlight Studio, Stockholm, Sweden, in 1989, when the band was known under the original name Treblinka. The track "Sumerian Cry, Pt. 1" is a re-interpretation of the intro melody from "Crawling in Vomit", the first track off Treblinka's first demo. Since the mid-90's Tiamat has been employing a live keyboard player for all of their concerts, hiring them from well-known metal acts such as Opeth, Dark Tranquillity, Cradle of Filth and Evergrey.

The band formed in Stockholm in 1988. After a hiatus, during which several members joined Carnage, the band began recording in earnest in 1991 and released their debut, Like an Ever Flowing Stream in 1991. The album became an early example of Scandinavian death metal and established the band's fanbase. The song "Skin Her Alive" prompted an obscenity charge in the United Kingdom, against which the band successfully defended themselves. In 1993 Dismember released Indecent & Obscene, their most successful album ever, which featured their most famous theme: "Dreaming in Red" shown frequently in MTV's Headbanger's Ball.
