Mike Paradinas, veteran producer and Planet Mu label owner has written a new album called ‘Grush' and it's full of weird bangers that reclaim the 'dance' part of the woeful term IDM. A back-to-first-principles record, inspired in part by the group of artists IDM was coined for; melodic dance music that didn't come out of urban scenes, but interpreted them from a distance. The tracks on ‘Grush’ are all road-tested live favorites developed with feedback from Mike's touring partner and visuals guy Mora (Jan Moravec). It's a detailed and energetic journey which replicates the flow of a live gig. A lot of the tracks have been made in hotel rooms in response to shows, ‘Imperial Crescent’ is named after a Japanese Hotel, as is ‘Belvedere’ in Prague, while some tracks such as ‘Hyper Daddy’ were created specifically to play live. Drums are confidently at the fore here and the album feels like it traces Mike's musical history and interests neatly around his sweetly nostalgic melodies, with atmospheres and structures which twist and turn with a charming softness which contrasts with the tension in the drums. Take ‘Hyper Daddy’s’ spiralling notes and twinkling piano which remind one of early Black Dog or Omni Trio rushing alongside splashy jungle drums, or the aquatic acid footwork of the title track with its drums softly bubbling and kicking. Elsewhere there's territory which harks back to his Tusken Raiders pseudonym, like the heads down Drexciyan funk of ‘Windsor Safari Park,’ which transforms from moody electro into a sunny hardcore track midway.

The album is interspersed with Reticulum A, B and C at the start middle and end of the album which suggest a theme which carries across the music in an effortless and joyful way. ‘Grush’ is a strong album that works both for listening and DJing and a great snapshot of where Mike Paradinas musical head is at in 2024.

The label's first EP is by Yu, a great Italian artist who gives us 4 tracks with his unique and unmistakable style, with an energetic and natural flow. Fruit of experimentation and research dominated by strong kicks and basses accompanied by hypnotic and captivating sounds. Characterized by the rhythmic energy of club music.

London-based producer and musician Vegyn unveils the reprint of his debut mixtape, "Text While Driving If You Want To Meet God!", a 71-track project originally launched in June 2019, now available again on cassette format. This time, featuring a transparent red tinted cassette chassis, this reissue offers fans a nostalgic journey through Vegyn's early experimental soundscapes. Crafted with Super Ferro Normal-bias music grade tape, each cassette boasts 43 minutes per side, meticulously duplicated in real-time for optimal sound quality. With clear front and back cassette cases, alongside laser engraving, and a double-sided full colour printed 4 panel J-Card. This reissue is set to captivate listeners once again. The cassette repress is scheduled to hit shelves in June 2024.

UK-based Natural Expressions latest 4 tracker offers pure primetime examples of dub and deep techno. 2 from beloved fixtures in the scene along with 2 that are on the rise. The universally recognized Gradient, gives us 'Flight Above the Fog' and like the title alludes to, it accomplishes. Known for his intricate and classic dub techno rhythms, this hypnotic standout builds the atmosphere to a goosebump crescendo. Collogne follows up with 'West District'. A mesmerizing chord anthem that hangs around in the sweet spot, never over-extending its' welcome. The second side hosts the ever-talented veteran Merv and his wicked contribution titled 'Serpent'. This attention grabber is standout dub techno in the upmost. Elegant and tempered, it chooses the smoothest route, washing over the listener with absolute dream-like euphoria. Vapnik closes the 12" with a fantastic reinterpretation of the Marco Hessler track 'Spacewaves'. The scintillating chord work is an audible thrill while the subdued drop towards the middle is pure magic. Another strong artist who really brings the heat. Pluto’s Plan is back with a full blast. Another four-track VA welcomes back label founders and introduces new names to the roster. The A side kicks off with Tourman, delivering a cosmic acid heat, followed by the label’s own Hatsvali with a heavy dancefloor groover. The B side is shared between Pluto's Plan co-founder Hudson with a hypnotic tech house and gents behind Fraise Records, Duowe, with a virtuously crafted tune.

Inspired by the winter sunrises in the city of Porto, Murk AT Dawn VA marks the beginning of a new chapter in the electronic music scene, embracing the passion for the obscure and its intrinsic beauty. Following a masterful release from Swoy, Sounds of Sirius Music presents their first Various Artist Compilation Sosnz007 – “Harmony of the Spheres”. Wrapping up 2023 with top notch underground music, joins the musical dots between talented and free-spirited artists working across the globe.

In this edition we have close friends and supportive artists from Sounds Of Sirius, including none other than Mihai Pol (Romania), rising Chilean talent Nibaaldo (Chile), brotherly duo Clay and Heath Ostrer aka Last Pines (uk) and Sevillian talent Alvaro Lamet aka Enzo Leep (Spain).

Harmony of the spheres is a philosophical concept highlighting proportions of the celestial bodies and their movements– the Sun, Moon and planets – as a form of music. These comic mathematical relationships express qualities or "tones" of energy which manifest in numbers, visual angles, shapes and sounds.

Santa Cata Records was conceived in the record store, Santa Cata in Palma de Mallorca. Founded 3 years ago it has become a hub for local artists, an essential digging spot for visiting DJs, as well as being open to all music lovers. With the vibrant local scene producing so actively, setting up a label was a natural step for us, providing a platform for the artists living on our beloved island. The first E.P. is from various artists living in Mallorca. International artists Dani Casarano and Hamid now spreading their roots on the island, and local talent in the form of Planetary Instincts own Dojo Zone and Halbert. The EP focuses heavily on the dancefloor, innovative modern music laced with old school influence. The record boasts a dancefloor cut with a jacking touch, another breaky acid lines under modulated chords. Flipping it over a 90’s bassline accompanies trance pads, and finally a catchy melody that will be following you around for weeks.

Back in 2018, Lumière Noire celebrated its first anniversary with a compilation featuring thirteen exclusive tracks by an eclectic group of electronic musicians – a family portrait of sorts. A few months later, a second volume of From Above, compiled by the label’s artistic director (and DJ) Chloé, once more brings thirteen established acts together with promising upstarts. After the success we achieved with the first vol. of Empirical Test, we return to the game from our laboratory with a new Bohrium Records-style release: new musical perspectives, deep basslines, and dancefloor bangers with a minimalistic touch. A1 ‘Awarawati’ by Dorothy's Dream aka Fabrizio Maurizi will mesmerize you with simple percussion and his abstract, futuristic & ambient sounds united by a minimalist bass line. A2 ‘Promise’ by Techu, the young promise of rominimal directly from Brasov, Romania has already gained the support of Raresh, Priku & Arapu with their minimalistic sounds. Bread & Butter recordings welcomes spring with their long-stablished V.A series exclusively on vinyl. On this occassion the ammalgamation of artists comprises 4 exceptional producers, fusing together two of the most important electronic music cultures. To start off with the right foot, London-based artist Modebaku brings complex percussive patterns along groaning basslines and dreamy pads making a extravagant yet minimalistic expression. To complement the A side, Romanian Primarie keeps up with the energy, coming with a more euphoric approach distinguished by tense atmospheres and bright drums. On the flip side, it’s another Romanian heavyweight Techu delivering an exquisite taste of contemporary electronic music. The track's warm melodies and futuristic synths combine into a deeply emotional expression. Finally, Ted Amber rounds up the record with a deep house vibe: more joyful, dubby and a contagious charm. Once more, Bread & Butter Recordings is able to capture an innovative essence, blending different syles to make an epic EP.

Deep Trax Volume One' is a fine selection of 4 edited, remixed and previously unreleased Trax from the 90s. The EP starts with a re-dub of the classic 'I Need A Rhythm' and gets you flying with warm 808 beats and minimal jazzy riffs.

After the first Release, Two and Half Records brings out the second V.A., 6 talented artists, all with their own musical style. On the Dance side we find Ionescu the catchy vocal of "Low Ride Her", power and energy of Emi Ömar and the return of Venetia with his "atomic" sound. On the Listen side, Marc Satseg gives a progressive touch , while p1nkf1re's track is already a few years old, but remains an overwhelming sound and Mopfunk closes the ep with an exciting eletronic track.

After the success of Bollywood infused edit of Koi Jaye and the Three Eyes remix, Tjade is back on Bordello A Parigi with a four tracker of varied delights. A clear enthusiasm for bright melodies and bending bars of trance runs through his Voyager EP. The title track judders to life on rumbling arpeggio lines, while the leads are crisp and beats racing fast as an anthem for dancing till sunrise dawns. “In Contact” offers corkscrew acid key shifts and sentimental chiptune melodies, while broken beats and the devil-may-care chords characterise “Shut Out”.
