Malfunkshun is an American punk/Love-rock/proto-grunge band formed in 1980 by brothers Andrew (aka Landrew) and Kevin Wood with drummer Regan Hagar.

Combining glam influences with distortion, they were one of the earliest grunge bands from Seattle. Andrew would become the frontman for Mother Love Bone.

"Olympus Awaits" is a definitive compilation of all Malfunkshun recordings. It includes their Return to Olympus album (here on vinyl for the first time ever), compilation appearances and very rare demo recordings with a dark-punk hardcore aesthetic.

Ghost is the name of a devil worshipping ministry, that in order to spread their unholy gospels and, furthermore, trick mankind into believing that the end is ultimately a good thing, have decided to use the ever so popular rock music medium as a way to achieve their ends. Standing motionless and anonymous beneath the painted faces, hoods and robes which their sect demand, the six nameless ghouls of Ghost deliver litanies of sexually pulsating heavy rock music and romantic lyrics, that glorify and glamorise the disgusting and sacrilegious, with the simple intention to communicate a message of pure evil via the most effective device they can find - entertainment. In May 2010 Ghost were contracted to a UK based gramophone company called Rise Above Ltd, who swore an oath stating that they will assist the group in the task of spreading their musical blasphemies through formats such as Compact Discs, Long Playing Vinyl Records and Digital Downloading. The first full length Ghost album ‘Opus Eponymous’ will be released in October 2010 and it is understood and agreed that Rise Above Ltd will invest money in areas such as magazine advertising and retail marketing and will employ the services of music publicity specialists in order to expose the music of Ghost to the wider public. Specific attention will be paid to targeting people (research suggests these are most likely to be adolescents) who have a void in their life, perhaps caused by some form of emotional trauma or upset, that can be filled by the music and philosophies of Ghost. In time, these easily manipulated children will come to share the views and goals of the Ghost sect and can prepare their own plans for the downfall of humanity....

Following a 21-year hiatus since their last album release, UK-industrial-metal pioneers KILL II THIS return with a new album, Variant.KILL II THIS guitarist Mark Mynett spoke about the album title and artwork: “We originally had a much more complicated title for the album but the Variant title came about during the Covid lockdown period. It also echoes previous KILL II THIS album titles, especially ‘Deviate,’ and the roman numeral V signifies that this is the fifth album. The artwork was created by Andy Pilkington at Very Metal Art and we are delighted with what he has come up with. There are some really clever touches and the detail is incredible. Nel Buio, Italian for In the Dark, is a black wave project born by Clod "the Ripper" De Rosa (Blasphemer, ex-Septycal Gorge) in the Autumn of 2023 to combine black metal and 80s darkwave. The Line up was completed by Neil Grotti on guitars and Francesco Vellacifer on drums (both of Electrocution and Blasphemer's fame, among the many). Avantgarde Music is glad to announce the release of Nel Buio self-titled debut EP. Frontman Clod the Ripper chose the following words to introduce the five songs composing the record: “In the shadow of the metropolis, where the echo of alienation seeps through the cracks in the concrete, our music is born. Shallow North Dakota’s debut full-length album Auto Body Crusher was the culmination of three years of developing their band and sound through performing as many shows as possible.

The album was mixed in Los Angeles by Joe Barresi (Jesus Lizard, The Melvins, Queens of the Stone Age) and was comprised of multiple recording sessions from Signal to Noise, Metalworks, and a range of other studios and spaces the band were able to access at the time.

In the words of guitarist Dan Dunham, “Tony and I arrived at Union Station at 8:30 AM after two and a half days on the train in coach. Choppers were flying overhead covering the OJ trial down the street; we had arrived in Los Angeles. Our friend, Mark DiPietro, met us at the station and drove us to Mama Jo’s studio at 8321 North Lankershim, North Hollywood. We met Joe and the studio assistant, Tim, and started the mix down straight away.

Mark hung with us over the five days of mix downs. We dubbed cassettes to check mixes. His car became a second listening area. We realized that if the rear-view mirror in his car vibrated on playback, we were very close on a final mix.

Joe was open to any ideas we had regarding a song/mix and we collaborated using multiple source formats, two inch tape, cassette, DAT, as well as 1/4 inch tape loops to achieve what we were hearing in our heads.

All final mixes from these sessions were mixed to 1/4-inch tape. Joe cut and spliced tape to edit our album sequence together during the final hours we had in the studio, and that’s what is presented here: our original intended album sequence as it was then, remastered from the original tapes.”
