After the re-issue of Ghia's “Don't Leave Me Alone” we continue the Austrian collaboration with Ghia's only known album release to date. Originally from 1988, this album features 9 tracks that further deepen the aesthetic direction strongly established by the now digger-delight single released the year before. An album that was somewhat mysterious due to little information online, yet coveted amongst diggers that had already been exposed to the magic of “Don't Leave Me Alone”. From slow dance ballad pop smoothness to high paced quasi-house keyboard and guitar infused playfulness, “Here I Am” has a sound that's unique yet refined, characteristic of an ace studio recording environment. In 2011, Pictureplane's Thee Physical arrived, marking a major leap forward. As music in the digital age seems to be shifting back to a 60's era emphasis on singles over albums, those who clamor for a full-length installment of music from their favorite artists have found their thirst increasingly unquenched. Enter Leopard DaVinci & Louis 707, who are boldly filling this gap in modern funk music with their LP "Make The Party Great Again." Living through an era of social distancing, event cancellations, and venue closures, making the party thrive as it once did is no small task, but this French synth-funk duo come across as extraordinarily energized to meet the challenge. It feels like every synthesizer sound ever conceived somehow lives within their arsenal, as a colorful blend of analog tones and back-cracking handclaps form the foundation for pure boogie bliss. From the album's inception, "Kinda Get Funky" sets the tone. It's clear that Leopard & Louis respect the original flight plan of the Mothership, though they draw more of their inspiration from subsequent sons of the "P" such as Zapp or 80's era Cameo. They remain uptempo throughout the entirety of the album, and even when they chill the mood slightly on songs like "Girl Oh Girl" & "I Get Up," it's only to spit a little slickness to the ladies before bumping the bpm's right back to where they were before. The album doesn't stray far from the usual topics of conversation in modern funk - Dancing, women, & funk itself. But such deviation isn't needed; if we're going to bring the party back we've got to stick to the script. As always, Sleepers takes the time to package the music as thoroughly as it was created, this time in a full-color jacket on yellow vinyl. Limited to only 300 copies!

Disco Segreta is proud to present the first release of its sub-label Glossy, entirely dedicated to contemporary dance productions. The label debut Gl01 is titled “E’ Festa” and is sung by Sardinian singer Angela Colombino (b. Sassari, 1987). Composed shortly before the first pandemic lockdown, "E' Festa" saw Colombino accept the challenge of trying her hand for the first time at an unusual repertoire to her, that of dance music, in a game of mirrors alternating a syncopated rhythm with deliberately dramatic lyrics.

"E' Festa" is the only non entirely instrumental track appearing on the soundtrack of "Tutti I Cani Muoiono Soli", debut movie of director Paolo Pisanu (b. Sassari, 1984), recently premiered at Bifest 2023. The movie is an all-existential drama centred on Rudi, a small-time neighbourhood criminal torn between his petty racket and the return into his life of his daughter Susanna. Showing an unprecedentedly cold and inhospitable Sardinia, the city of 'Tutti i cani muoiono soli' stretches across an urban space to more anonymous suburbs, theatres of most of Rudi's shady affairs. The all-inland touristic in summer vs. empty in winter Platamona turns into an alienating 'non-place’, with its constantly dark sea and livid color palette.

The movie won the 2018 Solinas Prize for best film screenplay, written by Gianni Tetti, a novelist nominated for the Strega Prize in 2017 and the “Gabriele Ferzetti Award” for Best Actor in a Leading Role to Orlando Angius at Bi Fest 2023.

Trent is back on Blessyou with another EP. 3 new tracks further deepening his explorations in masterful sample collages borrowing heavy percussive elements from his refined library of sounds juxtaposed with patterns of wild vocals, trippy sound effects and offset sax solos. Over two years in the making, and it’s finally here. Amsterdam based, brand new old-school label “Betonska” kicks off with this highly diverse release for the selector, collector, radio host and club DJ. Crisp instrumentation, tight retro drum computer programming and propulsive danceable bass lines are what you will find here. The Amsterdam based label will be focusing on previously unreleased and tough-to-find material from the 80s and 90s – all re-mastered, officially licensed and in collaboration with the original artist. In addition to the original material an occasional modern twist will be given by contemporary artists who cherish that signature sound. The first release is an alternative issue of Flo Sullivan’s “Higher” release, originally recorded in 1984 in the world famous Amazon Studios in Liverpool and released in 1985. On the A-side both the 12” and the 7” version of the hard-to-get, firm synth-pop track “Higher” will be pressed on a loud 45rpm vinyl. The 12” version is the (bass-)heavier one, while the 7” version sounds more “organic” with an extended intro and an added horns part. The tracks on the A-side have been pressed before and are made available now again for the wider public, giving those tracks the recognition and attention they deserve. The B-side focuses on previously unreleased original downtempo material by the same artist but released under her real name: Gayna Rose Madder. This, accompanied by a refreshing club-ready remix of one of those tracks by Vienna’s top-notch selector, producer and Neubau label owner: Heap. Neither of the two original tracks “Over” and “Element” have ever been released on vinyl before, up until now. “Over” was written and recorded in 1983 in Splash Sound Studios in Liverpool. A beautiful melancholic synth-pop track, which was meant to be released, but unfortunately never saw the light of day. At the time it was recorded Gayna left her band “Shiny Two Shiny” and therefore needed a new deal from a different company for her solo releases. But by the time she found the right one, many newer songs needed release. Much later, in 2005, Gayna decided to self-release “Over” on a compilation CD to sell copies online. “Element” is a spoken-word poem accompanied by a fire-crackling tribal kind of rhythm. It was written for a musical play and recorded in Sparks Studio Liverpool in 2004 and has never officially been released before. (For a short period it was available on a self-released CD on Gayna’s website; a compilation of the songs written for one of her musicals). And last but not least, the icing on the cake is Heap’s remix of “Element”. He translated this spoken word poem into a refreshing 90s-style and danceable club-track to complete the diversity of Betonska’s first release. A chugging acid bass, breakbeat rhythms, crisp claps and sharp snares and a screeching lead synth to get you screaming on the dance floor.

Another mysterious offshoot from the H.A.N.D. label, bringing down the tempo a bit and moving into more mediterranean latitudes. Possibly the "Britney Spears" of Flamenco for some experts, but at the same time, a life changing "exotische" anthem for sun toasted retired German/British pensioners sipping cheap wine in places too warm for their own good. Either way, Gipsy Kings can be a powerful thing if you surrender your pre-pubescent associations surrounding their chart hits. Be honest with yourself and forget about everything you heard, these previously unreleased mixes bring out the best of this sometimes too accessible consumer-Flamenco nugget without any of the guilt. Raging rhythmic flamenco guitars, Nile Rodgers in Paella version, reinforced with a completely different kick concept that keeps you gliding at a cruising altitude of 100% tranquilo. Daddario debuts at Ragoo Records with the 'Quinto Quarto' EP, a record that fuses beatmaking attitude with funk, disco and electro vibes. 'Quinto Quarto', which means entrails in Italian, is the result of his deep research about roots. From the broken funk of 'Shift' to the heavy percussions of 'Space Lou', each track is full of grooves and details that showcase Daddario's skills on the MPC as well as on synthesizers. The project is enriched by collaborations with percussionist JZP, guitarist Lorenzo Mantovani, bassist Michele Freguglia, trumpeter Matteo Pontegavelli, and two remixes from Astratto and The Mechanical Man.

The album is best described as jazzy ambient - very mellow and meditative stuff.. It will be released on a limited edition vinyl (150 copies) and will only be available in select shops.

Multi Culti tune in to earth’s axial tilt in the second round of its flagship 12” series with Equinox I: The global occult label kick off the seasonal shift with a magical collaboration between Mexican chug-guru Iñigo Vontier and Moscow based brothers Simple Symmetry. ‘Hocus Pocus’ is an anthem for the fuzzy-minded, post-lockdown party-goer. It’s a mesmerizing merger of contemporary electronics and vintage psychedelia. We don’t know much about Ponty Mython, but their sound is right at home on this eclectic record. A freeform flea-market of samples strewn around a broken beat, strung together around a catchy melody, ‘Pinto La Meah’ has an optimistic feel, a subtly nostalgic sense of travel and discovery that suits the global groove collecting theme. The B-side tracks take the tempo down while raising the hands in the air, perfect for lockdown house parties wherever big-room raves are still ruled out. Ecuadorian Pancho Piedra leads the proceedings with ‘Servio’, serving up a loopy banger that recalls classic Comeme in the best possible way. Punchy, no nonsense party track with just enough spice in the salsa. Colombia via Buenos Aires producer Hermetics teams up with ZZK affiliated, Quito based Hannah Lee on ‘Lux Naturae’ with an absolutely massive sounding beat with killer sub bass. Finally, Magic Pirate takes the downtempo breakbeat vibe into trippier territory with a wicked sounding piano and aphex-synth-sounding romp through his wild imagination on ‘Make me a Jazz Coffee.’ These are fresh, genre-defying and tracks to enter the autumnal equinox, and a fearless move forward in time for earth dance fans the world over.

Youcef Debbihi continues to impress and surprise after already his 3rd volume as Sea of Disillusions. This 4 tracker extends what was already started and established in the previous volumes, expanding his studio excellence into more break beat oriented directions, either at high speed in the form of almost Drum'n'Bass with "k2" or slowed down as a more trip-hop tempo with "Break Whale". B-side slows down to upper 90bpm range of driving rhythm under atmospheric dubby hints of humidity "5deF", and, finalizing with a beatless Ambient mix of "Loon River" which sounds like the slow motion intro to an epic trance anthem that never fully takes off, setting the stage for something heavy to be mixed in. Essential for any reasonable DJ record bag.

Full of richly textured layers of sound, songs like new single “Judgment Bolt” draw unsuspecting listeners into a place that’s simultaneously murky and neon, somber and playful. You feel a sense of new adventure, with a curious pang of déjà vu. The group was initially drawn to the vaporwave world, producing records like 2015’s I'll Try Living Like This and 2017’s Heavy Black Heart, which took familiar sounds—like K-pop, among others—to their maximalist limits. Since then they’ve experimented with making music in different formations of the group and collected the results in a project called NUWRLD Mixtape Club, which included the acclaimed 2021 release Faith In Persona. Their upcoming album—their first in years to include all three members—finds them further exploring unknown realms, focusing on original composition, songwriting, and vocals. And, of course, they’ve utilized some well-placed samples to help drive the album’s concept: an exploration of “love as a social construct, or as the fabric of the universe, or as not existing.” Once again, death's dynamic shroud work to chart what we can’t see but—more than ever—can feel. To Webster, this era boils down to one salient fact: “There’s more of us in this than ever before.”

It is time for the Nang and Rayko worlds to collide once more. The awesome Madrid-based DJ and producer is back with his second album on Nang. As ever the grooves are wide, the beats are large and the musical elements ooze funk and nu disco sheen.

Thing open up with the title track and recent single "No Stopping". The track features the fine vocals from Tania Haroshka and it is a powerhouse of synth disco, electronic groove with real bass guitar and darting guitars giving it just a tint of Miami Vice sheen. 2016 single "Crazy" is up next with it's catchy hooks and counter melodies. It comes with just the right amount of good-time groove to bring a smile to any face. Things tone down "Robot Life" which is a creeping synth fest with wandering grooves and chunky drums.

Danielle Moore features with a fine vocal on a 'pure Rayko' style classic "Cosmic Pirate". Muscular basses and darting guitars being deployed to maximum effect. "Ocarina Of Time" is next with its layered complexity and stabby synth bass notes.

Tania Haroshika returns for the final trio of tunes on the album. Her fine vocals melding effortlessly with the slick production from our hero. First up is "HOT" which builds the music slowly adding layers of multi tracked guitars and real bass before breaking forth into song. "U" sneaks in from the leftfield with its quirky strings and arpegiated synth-clavi lines. The album closes with the (slightly) melancholic and pensive groover "Space Boat". Tania adding a brooding vocal over a pulsating juno style bassline.

A fine effort from our Madrid based hero who once again shows everyone what this "top-of-his-game" DJ-producer can do with some guitars and keyboards. Bravo

Picture the scene if you can. It’s Sunday evening at the Meakusma Festival, 2019. A small audience (in varying states of inebriation and recovery) sit patiently on the floor, drenched in soft sunlight. Fizzy Veins is set up to play - his guitar resting on his knees while he stares into his laptop with an expression displaying amusement and fear in equal measure. He tentatively speaks into the microphone. There’s a lot of reverb. I don’t think anybody has the slightest idea what he’s saying. I assume he’s delivering a joke, but it’s very hard to tell. People laugh. After yet more tweaks to his gear he starts to play some loose, bendy phrases on the guitar, and we are all gently vaporised up Mount Effervescent. Our benevolent guru sits at the peak, speaking in tongues to the freshly formed congregation. The beats start to roll out and the sun begins to set in the evening sky. Fizzy transitions and he continues his long distance narration from deep inside his own reverb. It sounds like he’s in another room. On another planet, more like.

Witnessing the show, as I did, left me wondering how he even manages to boot-up his computer.. let alone produce an album as brilliantly formed and coherent as this!

We’re invited into the ‘deep mist’, one that is ‘too deep for comfort’. Bouncing back and forth between decisions, declarations and uncertainties, the phrase ‘I don’t know where I’m going but I’m heading out’ is folded into the components of the music neatly; impulse mixing with ambivalence.

Theme Ltd. is back with its fourth wave of exclusive releases, this time on one-sided 7” vinyl. Allow these tracks to guide you through their diverse production as they blend genres and tone to provide insight into their fresh production technique.

‘Everywhere’ positions the listener in a gentle mood for love. Snares snap and mix with a slightly discordant, far piano as lyrics and chords bounce off each other at a steady tempo. We are apprehended by the doleful vocals that invite us to gaze with an ‘illuminated stare’, and as we diffuse into the end of the song, a cool-aired beat breakdown leaves us in media res. A sprawl of love left everywhere. Great!

The second album from Brighton based Balearic duo Andres y Xavi. This time with a little help from Rolo McGinty of Peel faves and Balearic Beat legends The Woodentops. This is a love letter to the forgotten side of Ibiza: dusty lanes, olive groves and clearings with sea views that go on for miles. 10 original compositions plus a cover of Talk Talk’s Renee. The self released and distributed first album found favour with Balearic DJs across the world. Lead track ‘My alibi’ was picked out by the likes of Kenneth Bager, Danny Psychmagik and ‘Never seen Ibiza’ was a firm favourite of Phat Phil Cooper and Balearic Ultras. Rolo adds guitar and vocals and a Woodentops vibe to two tracks on the album ‘What do you see in me?’ and ‘Walking in the sun’, his personal tribute to Jose Padilla. First album received support from Kenneth Bager (Music for Dreams), Phat Phil Cooper (NuNorthernSoul), Chris Coco, Mike Salta, Leo Mas, Balearic Ultras, David Pickering (OneMillionSunsets) and many more! And was described by Dr Rob (Ban Ban Ton Ton) as "Smokey Muscle Shoals organ plays, strings swoon, and Kosmische synths blink like distant stars... an overall “vibe” somewhere between Mo`Wax and the Sunday Best of Bent and Dan Mass... adorned by cascading Indie “neo-acoustic” guitar jangle. Like The Stone Roses by way of Horsebeach."

Label head DJ Superherb debuts under this alias on Full Dose, in collaboration with fellow Glaswegian compatriot, TEN Years Lost. " Concrete City Merchandise " is a timely selection of iced out beats - a perfect companion to an unusually sweltering summer.

A surprising collision of minds has produced an album of near-horizontal belters. "Ocarina of Time", with its dusty vocal loops and shimmering high end induces a lazy euphoria like no other. The title's reference to Zelda aligns the pair with a long list of talented and game-obsessed beatmakers, matching the vibe of the track perfectly.

In an album clearly representing an evolution of the Full Dose sound, "Yeah"s dembow programming and stabby riff will be familiar to those who've been around since the beginning. Combine this with the clear G-funk influences found throughout, and you're on to a winner. "Pagan Golf" continues this amalgamation of styles, resulting in a sound that's perfectly Full Dose.

In a similar vein, "On the Rise" is as true to the West Coast sound as you're likely to find this side of the Atlantic. This hit sounds like the housier end of Stones Throw filtered through the mesh of the Glaswegian underground. Moogy synths carry loopy vocals, with the occasional fizzy and elongated riser to ensure you're not too deep in a trance.

Retaining these themes but slowing the pace right down is "Key Notez". Pulsating samples of running water sit low in the mix, providing a bed for the emotive pads and gently arpeggiated synth lines. The track somehow manages to combine elements of R&B with the more emotional end of electronic music, in a way that's rarely found."

Fake Yourself is an act of revolt as much as it is a celebration of life and an expression of human alienation. As usual in most of his work, soFa here reflects contrasts and contradictions as our existence so often does. It’s about sadness and joy, ups and downs and the fine line which connects them to tell a story. Fake Yourself comes as a spontaneous output of an artist escaping a scene of which the constant superficiality is unavoidable. Mistakes and wrong production with a strong DIY flavor are a conscious choice to not lose the spontaneous feeling which defines these recordings. A pure and direct self, exploring a realm of sound with sharp curiosity, emotion and humour. Where simplicity and complexity marry. This album is a good example on how some of the most authentic musical explorations are the most personal ones. soFa leaves all boundaries behind and let many of his influences confluence. Unconsciously or not, traces of IDM, Disco, New Beat, Dub and mostly Krautrock cross heavenly paths, followed by ironic and confronted vocals and his hypnotic signature basslines. Everything seems to make sense, to fill the chapters of an adventurous short novel.

What makes Fake Yourself remarkable is not the deep blend of genres, but the definition of one man shaping and finding his authentic sound. Killing boundaries to create this journey in his very own "style-no-style".

All tunes were improvised, recorded and arranged within 10 days in a wooden cabin, isolated in the middle of the nature in Alentejo/Portugal in 2022. This album was not meant to happen and one can strongly feel its spontaneous soul. No overdubs.

A retro-futuristic journey from folk to free exploring the shores of the Mediterranean, claiming its power as a living core, never as a deadly border. The TransMegaCobla fuses traditional Mediterranean culture –from bulería to kopanitsa, from gnaoua to sardana– with contemporary culture to create a fictional but deeply human and festive universe. Resurrecting the Phoenician language, the octet seeks common roots to fuse and remake them with contemporary molds such as rock, punk, free jazz and conducted improvisation. A timeless orchestra ready to invent, with real elements, a science-fiction Mediterranean in a parallel reality.

Rush Hour-affiliate and Amsterdam local Relmer is back with what may well be his best work so far. ‘h2o’ expertly displays the vibrant energy he’s known for around these parts with two Amazon-inspired deephouse groovers, a melancholic walk through the jungle, a Detroit-infused progressive anthem and a hypnotic midtempo floorwarmer. Absolutely stellar stuff from A to Z.

The only question we should be asking about Ron Basejam and Red Rack’em getting in a studio together is ‘why did it take them so long?’ The Crazy P multi-instrumentalist brings a melodic sheen and strict work ethic to Berman's idiosyncratic, off kilter sample chops. We’re very excited to be bringing the first in a series of killer twelves from two artists who bring a huge amount of passion, soul and singularity to their music.

The infamous Crazy P studio in Nottingham, the scene of many a lost braincell for the pair became a different kind of playground with an arsenal of synths and the Basejam sample library proving fruitful. Several mammoth studio sessions were fitted in pre-lockown with both taking turns to lead when the other flagged. You can hear the grit in these tracks. Studio chiz, red wine and Alfreton Road kebabs fuelled these sessions. Buckle up for the Red Baron ride.

'Fascinate' is a foot stomping house banger hoedown which distils their collective years of sample voyaging into a taut yet jumpy floor wrecker. Uptight, urgent popped guitar licks and a face squinting bassline are mixed upfront with the track devolving at every chance with many a detour including the most warm uplifting middle eighth. A monster arpeggiated synth bass closes proceedings with a dark, knowing edge to the distant hardcore pads fading in.

'She Makes It Work' fuses stoner hippy tabla with a deviant tinged vocal benignly muttering missives while the second pill begins to kick in. Uplifting mangled chords meld with an ever building mood towards a deliriously melting peak moment. As with the A side, the track ends in a questioning manner taking the listener to another plane. This is a cosmic spiritual loft party 7am burner. A late '70s community group going off piste at a Wednesday night drumming circle by serving up the wrong punch.

Following on from their holy grail house find for Cr002 - unearthing, unreleased tracks by Marshall Jefferson and Jungle Wonz as played by Ron Hardy at the Music Box, which Marshall subsequently recreated, Club Chi'll Records' next instalment is another Chicago house bomb. ‘Passing Runner’ melds the minds of Chicago native Lloyd Dev, the legendary Jungle Wonz member Harry Dennis and the CCR All-Stars (the Club Chi’ll Records in-house group), stirring up all the best elements of the Windy city’s vibe. Blending emotive pianos, shuffling percussion and weighty basslines, with perfectly complimented sax licks and deft synth lines. On the flip side ‘Passing Runner (Club Chilled)’ is a delightful, balearic tinged mix that gives listeners a licence to chill.
