A new EP from Troth, following up their brilliant third album Forget The Curse released earlier this year. An EP of sorts, as these six wonderful tracks clocks in at over 31 minutes! A double one-disc EP? No matter what, Idle Easel sees the band in a transitional period, as the duo of Amelia Besseny and Cooper Bowman left Newcastle for Hobart, Tasmania during the recording sessions. The record has this heavy feeling of leaving something behind for something new, a feeling that is kind of boosted by the rather melancholic, autumnal presence that runs throughout Idle Easel. Blasting these songs in a currently very rainy Gothenburg in full, blown-out autumn mode certainly adds, but there's more to it than that.

The music is a fusion of Dischord-influenced math rock and noisecore, a nuanced rage that refuses to accommodate the passive listener. Jon Howell’s percussive, angular playing is as impressive as it is baffling, with malformed chords and abstract melodies that still burrow effortlessly into your brain. Dan Sneddon’s drumming is a stampede of frenetic time signatures, deceptively understated patterns and anthemic bashing, while Ben Thorne’s bass roils underneath like a ship’s hull scraping the ocean floor.

It won't take long before you get affected by the contagious enthusiasm provoked by Meat Shirt. Some electrifying waves are coming and no one can take control of the untamable energy. Eight new destructive Tracks from Tokyo’s Crow, featuring five classic blasts of crushing metallic hardcore with harsh vocals and searing guitar solos, framed by bursts of noise-driven experimentation and end capped by a “Hi-tone” vocal version of the title track. Eye is Crow's first new recording in twelve years. Crow’s origins are in the legendary mid-1980s golden era of Japanese punk, formed in Osaka with an intense influence of guitar driven UK hardcore. They released two seminal Japanese punk records, Who Killed Dove? EP and Last Chaos LP, before going dormant at the end of the 80s. Lead Vocalist Crow reorganized the band in the mid 1990s in Tokyo with new members including guitarist Tomio from Juntess. Tomio's playing added a heavier weight to the band’s sound as their sound became a synthesis of their original Discharge-influenced attack and metallic crust hardcore. The band released several EPs, the classic Bloody Tear album, and toured the West Coast three times. Eye touches on aspects of the band's often experimental 7" EP releases, but is grounded by their classic brutal hardcore sound. Recorded at Noise Room Studios in Tokyo in 2022, mastered for vinyl by Dietrich Schoenemann at Complete mastering, It Comes with an 11” x 17” insert in a 24 Pt. Board jacket designed by lead vocalist, Crow and was pressed at RTI.

These 10-songs were recorded and mixed by Craig Bowen at Baltimore's A.C.R. Studios but never released. After the session the band decided to continue writing new songs. Six of these songs were re-recorded at Inner Eat Studios and released on Necrophones, while four others remained unreleased, until now. Released in 2012.

The six new songs on Sanitary Situations continue where Gym Tonic started their way to the top with the 2019 full length Good Job. Like their long-time touring siblings Lassie, they know, that it is indeed a long way. But the proof, that they're on the right track is right here. Drawing inspiration from their everyday lives or the world around, the new record is their usual merging of post-punk with new wave and 80’s synth music, worshipping their masterminds Devo. It includes themes such as addiction, contagious diseases, sexual harassment and the relations between human mind and technology. Punter hail from Melbourne and their brand of noise is thrillingly intense. They describe themselves as 'a hardcore band described as a rock band', and it's difficult not to fall in love with a statement like that, especially when it so accurately describes their slalom between all-out axe heroics and to-the-point, in-yer-face-and-then-some punk ferocity.
