The Gospel According to Victor (tgav) kicks off its inaugural transmission on wax with an EP of driving, timeless, yet modern house music from label-owner, Tro. Inspired by a cryptic, otherworldly occurrence in Toronto in the summer of 2023, Tgav001 sees the enigmatic Berlin-based producer present the gospel of his musical sensibilities: four slices of dancefloor-oriented mind-music, seamlessly blending novel sound design techniques with hypnotic grooves reminiscent of 90s tech-house / minimal nostalgia. Peppered with the types of subtle surprises characteristic of his live act, Tgav001 takes the listener on a cosmic journey through space and different realms, with a hint of the absurd.

Brawther and Tristan Da Cunha's Dungeon Meat deals only in rock-solid house cuts designed for maximum club impact. Their Weapons Of Ass Destruction series is a treasure trove of such sounds and the fourth volume is another doozy: Sweely kicks off with some rubbery tripped-out tech, Frederik Anthony spins out on silky and deft percussive tech on 'Shortbacknsides' and Timmy P's 'Your Parents Are Doing It Right Kev' is a drake heavier stomper for when things get freaky. Boss Priester offers another highlight with the industrial and cosmic tech of 'Today Okay' while JAMM's 'Ignition' is more high-class weaponry.

The Knife’s Olof Dreijer introduces Colombian - Swedish percussionist and DJ Diva Cruz with a new collaborative EP on Dekmantel Records. The 'Brujas' EP follows the debut of their exciting hybrid live show at Sonár Istanbul and ahead of upcoming performances at Sónar Barcelona, Dekmantel, and Øya Festival. Together, opposing patriarchy, racism, colonialism, capitalism, and immigrant challenges, they joined forces in Olof's studio, resulting in the creation of the ‘Brujas’ EP, where Diva debuts her voice. The 'Brujas' single and the entire EP, meaning "Witches" seeks to inspire us to find that powerful ancient energy within ourselves.

"I dream to empower everyone who feels outside the box with my lyrics. It is so sad to see children singing and dancing to music made by male artists whose lyrics degrade women, and on top of that, they win prestigious awards while doing so. I dream for a better world and especially Latin America, which needs to change the macho perspective and work together for a better world for everyone," says Diva Cruz.

As a percussionist Diva brings a combination of fierce live percussion together with a rhythmic blend of tunes from all over the world during her energetic DJ-sets. She has also been the lead percussionist for both Fever Ray and Robyn on their world tours.

An essential and prolific figure in Australia's electronic music community, producer Reptant officially presents his new tech-house inspired alias Ulo. S for Anima13. What started as a one-off live experiment for Melbourne's Techworld party series, Ulo now reveals Uphoria - an EP of serious groove and a pure timeless quality. Uphoria advances on the signature old-school electro Reptant style and merges it with euphoric melodies and crisp, driving basslines. Ses1 set out what quality electro means for Shipwrec. The first in the series brought together six musicians from far and wide, musicians who journey through the colder edge of their analogue instruments with a clear ear for the floor. Ses2 starts where its predecessor left off. The genre bending Ian Martin opens with the frigid funk of "Metaphysical Travellers." Stripped back, the track is bare in terms of its elements. Despite such meagre ingredients, Martin concocts an engaging and rich work of darkened grooves and sinister undercurrents. o-0._.0-o is the playful pseudonym of acid freetekno enthusiast Owen. His contribution, "Acidrobotik", releases a free and wandering 303 lines that forges a bubbling path through crisp percussion. The flip brings an artist better known for his work in techno. Cliche Morph delves into the clinical side of his palette and emerges with the stunning "Placebo." Balancing alienated and arctic blasts with a thawing warmth, the outcome is pure classic electro. A rising star of machine music follows, Fleck E.S.C. A dirty bassline is further sullied by layers of gritty distortion and glitched vocals in this re-wired work of ghetto. A legend of electronics closes, Kirill Junolainen. Under his lauded Konerytmi moniker, this synthesiser shapeshifter delivers "Kuva Alkio." Stuttering bass and tight drums are the foundation from which sci-fi inspirations take hold, sailing strings tethered by a terse snare as Ses2 is brought to a triumphal close.

After a short break mezin is back with the 4th record, helmed by Crihan. An Ordinary Family is a special affair, put together over a long period with a special narrative in mind, embodied by 4 pieces representing each of the main characters in F.M. Dostoevski magnum opus (or so we think!) The Brothers Karamazov. In this exercise of imagination, Alin attempts to push his creative juices to new heights to represent his perception of the novel’s titular actors. From religious themes, distant church bells and organs, yet, a lighthearted Aliosha to the dark reveries and otherworldly echoes of Ivan through to the sheer power and brute force of Dmitri and finally intersecting with sly, slinky but confident Grushenka. An Ordinary Family sets off on an ambitious trip that, we hope, will spark some curiosity for the novel, but we’ll be happy if you keep on dancing, too!

The linguistic diversity of the songs, in English, Polish, and Arabic, further adds to the album’s global nuance. The AI-generated artworks are a unique visual representation of the music. The tracks were mixed by Tobi Neumann and J Manuel at Apollo Studio Berlin and mastered by Manmade in Berlin.

Shortly after its return to form early in the year, Anva Records catches momentum and sets off for a third release with the imprint’s head honcho, Tagir. “Movement EP” offers two original tracks that perfectly sway between deep minimal techno and subversively groovy minimal house. Rounding off the EP is a lengthy, profoundly emotional Melchior Productions LTD remix reminiscent of the golden age of “micro-house.”

‘Virgini’ (a1) starts the EP submerged in emotion. Amongst its sharp and detailed drum programming, stomping basslines, and relentless groove, layer upon layer of atmospheric pads, drums, and vocal samples gently unfold for maximum emotional impact. ‘Movement’ (a2) continues the ride started before and splashes it with 80s-style synth chords and pads, drenched in nostalgia. Underneath, a rolling arpeggiated bassline moves the groove like a locomotive, constantly reminding dancers to stomp their feet. On the flip side, Thomas Melchior remixes “Movement” (b1), re-arranging and extending it to a whopping 14 minutes, thoroughly allowing its most sentimental elements to shine through a groove so undoubtedly Melchior. A perfect for those with a keen taste for reduced sound aesthetics and deeply emotional dancefloor moments.

366 Days Music, the brand run by Geneva-based artists Auguste Safar and Raphael Graham focused on promoting music events, is expanding its horizons and finally debuting as a record label. Aimed at showcasing house, techno, and minimal techno sounds, the label owners Auguste and Raphael are debuting with “Za Ria.” On the remix duties? No other than veterans Dandy Jack and Ricardo Villalobos resurrecting their Ric Y Martin moniker.

The title track, ‘Za-Ria’ (a1), provides a glimpse into the young duo’s talent and producer ethos: robust minimal grooves, rolling basslines, modular bleeps and bloops, ritualistic percussions and meticulous sampling — all the necessary ingredients for peak-time shenanigans. ‘Depth’s Drunkenness’ (a2), on the other hand, follows a somewhat hypnotic path. Its rhythmic structure remains as tight and stomping as the previous track but expands on minimalism. Vocal whispers and synth stabs fill the space, keeping the frequency spectrum exciting and alive. On the flip side, Dandy Jack and Ricardo remix ‘Za-Ria’ (b1), throwing a 4-by-4 groover into a frenzy of sample mangling in micro/macro proportions. And while granular sampling and modular processing are usually unpredictable tools, here, everything is rhythm, like beautifully organized chaos.

Quickly establishing themselves as some of the most exciting young talents in the Swiss electronic music scene today, Auguste Safar and Raphael Graham, along with their 366 Days Music imprint, are ones to look out for.
