American Rhythm 'n' Blues singer Nathaniel Mayer (1944-2008) is mostly remembered for his raw vocal timbre and for his particularly wild live act. Originally released in 1963 on Detroit based label Fortune Records, "Going Back To The Village Of Love" still sounds like an incredibly explosive hyper-energetic irreverent piece of pure Detroit sound.

Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans’ star burned hot and fast, they were together only two short years, and recorded just this lone LP, but the group of Bobby Sheen, Darlene Love (of The Crystals fame), and Fanita James, are responsible for one of the most immortal hits of Phil Spector’s career, the teen anthem “Why Do Lovers Break Each Other’s Heart”. Rounded out with 11 more tracks that feature the unbelievably talented team of Phil Spector production, Jack Nitzsche arrangements, and Billy Strange and Glen Campbell on guitar. If the previous volumes were organised by the colour of the skin, in this one we´ve given preference to girl groups over solo singers, but we didn't want to be too strict, so you'll also find some individualists. We start off strong, The Ikettes and The Raelettes no less, the backing singers of Ike & Tina Turner's and Ray Charles' bands. Both vocal groups had a very important specific weight for the soloists they accompanied, as important that nobody could stop them from recording their own albums and singles as well. Behind them a fairly wide and eclectic selection, from doo wop to garage, passing through pop and rock'n'roll. Is any musical genre too much for women? certainly not! A sad note to finish. This is the last volume of this collection, which closes this circle in which we have brought together a total of 39 tracks, very varied in sound but with the common denominator of female voices in all of them. British rockabilly combo The Krewmen had several distinct phases during the 1980s; beginning in 1982 as a rockabilly trio, they moved in a blues direction for their first 45s and after temporarily disbanding, reformed as a psychobilly quartet for this sought-after debut LP. Songs like “Night Of The Living Dead,” “Wild Dogs Of Zorberon” and “Hell Train” have a delicious B-movie aesthetic and “Don’t Give A Toss” and “Guy Fawkes” are keen Brit takes on the form. A must-have for Cramps and Meteors fans, and all psychobilly devotees.

An extract from the novel “Bovver Birds Rool”: Dawn pushed Sue’s head as hard as she could against the stone wall of the school. The connection registered with a gruesome “thud”. “That’s for getting off with Steve”, she snarled. A second girl cracked Sue sharply around the face with an open palm and then kicked her as she slumped to the ground.. “Do not mess…” shrieked Jane. “Do you understand, Bitch!” A descending bike chain left a bloody trail across Sue’s now fractured skull. “Have you learned your lesson, Bitch, or do you want some knuckle too? Well… do you?” Dawn smiled approvingly at Jane and the two girls linked arms and walked away. “What are you staring at?” , snapped Dawn at their first passer-by, Dave, a pale and sullen lad from school. “I’m not quite sure,” he quickly replied. “It walks like a bloke and talks like a bloke, but it’s got girly bits… Or, at least, I think it has.” Jane quickly broke away from Dawn and started to run towards Dave who immediately quickened his pace. “And you’ll never find out you piece of chicken shit,” she screamed. (to be continued…) Bovver Birds & Knuckle Girls... a rare burst of etiquette. So what would you get on a date with a Bovver Bird or a Knuckle Girl? A few harsh words and a cheap thrill- or a competitively-priced thrill, at least. Up against the wall. Nothing fancy, just a bit of “hanky panky” with your tougher-than-average Knuckle Sandwich Nancy. “Girls used only to resort to psychological bullying… Now they’re moving in gangs and using bicycle chains, knives and clubs. In fact they’re beginning to behave in a way once only associated with the roughest of boys.”

This album was the last for one of the founders of The Cavestompers! Ivan "Cosmos".His final contribution was the authorship of several songs.Do not look for him on the cover photo-he is Kosmos and invisibly present in our ranks like a phantom.His place at the moment occupied by Paul Petrov ,who together with llya"Crusher" Sterzhanov in the 90s founded the first Russian garage punk band the Crushers.

The Book of AM* is a collection of inspirational songs, poems and stories composed in different parts of the world through the millennia up to the present day and edited and set to music and graphics by Juan Arkotxa and Leslie MacKenzie. The Book expresses core themes from Eastern and Western philosophical and religious traditions and it follows the cycle of day with five parts - Dawn, Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Night.When the Book was first published in 1977 the incomplete Part V, NIGHT, was not incorporated into the four part publication (Part I published in Paris 1978, and Parts I, 2, 3, and 4 were published by Wah-Wah Records in 2004 and 2010). At last the final part NIGHT has been completed and is presented here as the conclusion of this long project.

We have used recordings from that time, 1977, and combined with musical and technical collaboration, mainly from oG, (introduced to us by the member of the Book of AM team Will Z and also part of the Belgium group Cosmic Trip Machine) who joined us for this project and has brought his own form of genius to the mix, adding, along with Will Z, extra overdubs to our original recordings, as well as making an invaluable contribution to the composition, mixing and mastering by which we have achieved a sound different from the previous AM albums, more ethereal and informal but at the same time surprising and powerful which steps out of the standard songs format and creates a befitting space for the nocturnal and final mood of this project.

European scene veterans, they’ve already performed in Les Mortettes, Els Trons, Thee Grandaddies, Flashback V, The 54321s, Missing Souls and The Cavemen Five… amongst other bands. Les Rencards have been produced by Mike Mariconda -that’s nothing- and feel eager to go wild on stage at Ye-Yé ’22 ¡Vive la fête!

Elvis Presley’s self-titled debut album forever changed popular culture on release in 1956, its earthquake aftershocks still felt some 65 years later. Gritty adaptations of Carl Perkins’ ‘Blue Suede Shoes,’ Ray Charles’ ‘I Got A Woman’ and Little Richard’s ‘Tutti Frutti’ helped make it the first Rock ‘n’ Roll album to top the Billboard charts, where it remained unchallenged for a full ten weeks. The iconic cover image with its distinctive lettering, showing Presley brandishing his acoustic guitar, helped embed the instrument in rock mythology too, indelibly changing how we conceive of the genre and its axemen. Elvis Presley proved that our hero was already the undisputed King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, just as he still is today.
