After a very limited, self-released edition earlier this year, Vampisoul is proud to present "Voyage Of Exploration", the debut album by Akron.

Experience the wonder of space travel through nine tunes that unravel the mystery of strange worlds throughout our galaxy.

The testimony of remote civilizations and unique life forms is gathered in this collection of exotic space junk music, reminiscent of Les Baxter, Martin Denny, Goblin, 70s Italian soundtracks, Sun Ra, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

Under the Akron moniker stands one man bringing together all his influences from instrumental music from the 50s to the 70s: classic exotica by Martin Denny and Les Baxter, the proto-electronic sounds of Delia Derbyshire and Mort Garson, all kinds of soundtracks (from TV series like Twilight Zone and Thunderbirds to Italian giallos), the work of unclassifiable artists such as Moondog and Sun Ra.

And all of it filtered through Joe Meek's productions. Free from any scene or genre constraints, Akron manages to combine all these sounds in a unique and totally personal way.

"Voyage Of Exporation", his debut album, takes us on a trip across different worlds, as if we were on board of the Enterprise and there were a new tune waiting for us at each planet.
