Item Description
[END] Los Angeles-born Chris Cacavas has been kicking around the music business since the early '80s and has served as a sideman for such artists as Green on Red, Steve Wynn, Giant Sand, and Pat Thomas. He released his debut LP (with his band Junkyard Love) in 1988. Cacavas' country- and folk-tinged rock songs, delivered in a plaintive, mournful voice, have weathered consistent comparisons to Neil Young (comparisons that are certainly further fueled by his appearance on the Neil Young tribute album This Note's for You, Too!, on which he covered "Tonight's the Night.") Most of Cacavas' earlier records are primarily available in Germany, where he has a distinct cult following. The songs on LOVE'S BEEN RE-DISCONTINUED were written for the same session as the material from Chris's masterpiece album "Love's Been Discontinued" (2009). In 2013 Chris, who thinks the material is too good to go into oblivion, decides to finish the songs and record vocals etc. The album is published the same year as a "private only release", which Chris himself broadcasts on CD in 500 copies. Thus, if you like, this is the first official release of the record, and it comes as vinyl, unearthed by WWR. For fans of Dream Syndicate, Green On Red, Steve Wynn, Rain Parade Black vinyl, with padded inner and lyric insert, 140g pressed at Optimal.
