Fir Cone Children The Age Of Blastbeatles

Fir Cone Children’s 2015 debut LP “Everything Is Easy” was all wildly dreaming in the sun to music which squeezed more distortion, lo-fi and pop melodies through the boxes than the small guitar amp could handle. Now, before the second LP sees the light of day in June the band throws a wild punch of the fastest material written in the ring.
“The Age of Blastbeatles” makes a promise in its title that the Berlin one man project from Alexander Leonard Donat keeps: 4 of the 7 EP tracks include hysterical Blastbeats as the base for the distorted Fuzz Shoegaze guitars, yet all tracks include enough Pop harmonies and hooks in each 2 minute song to make it all worthwhile. Fir Cone Children may be darker on this release, but it stays as naïve, wild and juvenile as before. The lyrics tell of the things a six months old and a two and a half year old can experience in real life and in their playtime. Turning around, going on adventures with stuffed animals, playing, and even getting sick.
