Item Description
This 1962 explosive session was young lion Freddie Hubbard’s debut album for Impulse. For the occasion Hubbard displays a solid Post-Bop horn section with Curtis Fuller on trombone and the great John Gilmore on tenor saxophone in one of his rare appearances outside the Sun Ra Big Band. The sextet is completed by an extremely dynamic rhythm section featuring Tommy Flanagan (piano) Art Davis (Bass) and the super swinging Louis Hayes on drums.
