MATT K. SHRUGG began drumming at the age of 13. Immediately everyone knew he had talent. However, we all felt safe. Playing in bands like the SHRUGGS, THE LOSIN' STREAKS and ZODIAC KILLERS he seemed mostly fixated on '60s garage-rock tunes, punk-rave ups and Beatles B-sides. Years later, he started playing the guitar and writing his own weird songs. We all became nervous. As his songs grew in complexity and weirdness, and as he began recording his songs by himself we stayed nervous. Matt K. makes us nervous. Finally, Matt K. Shrugg covers all his bases with Matt K Goes Bananas by honoring fellow Sacramento punk failures legends the BANANAS. Absolutely no slip-ups in this bunch.
