Max McFerren Monk's Mood

Allergy Season is very pleased to announce Max McFerren's "Monk's Mood", three tracks of cathedral funk paired with a remix by Blondes. Under his real name and his MCFERRDOG alias, McFerren has gained attention for appearances on label's like Ultimate Hits and Don't Be Afraid, as well as two cassettes and a 12" for 1080p. Made over the course of two years, "Monk's Mood" is an evocative, emotionally resonant EP of dance floor music.

In the past McFerren has devoted himself to the role of the human voice in dance music, using sustained vocals and chopped phonics in an examination of feeling and texture. "Monk's Mood" presents a new thesis in these studies, marrying choral vocals with wide screen, panoramic techno and electro. Delicate and ornate, yet baritone, the EP is a distinct proposition in the current electronic music landscape.

RVNG International duo Blondes provide a swirling remix of McFerren's "Hunting" on the B-side. The rework sees the duo pushing their gear based take on melodic techno to a new levels of dance floor readiness.
