Penya burst onto the international scene in summer 2016 with the carnival readied, hands in the air, hip shaking 'Acelere'. The DJ Khalab remix was hailed and debuted by Boiler Room and a firm favourite of BBC 6Music's Tom Ravenscroft.

Penya are a 5-piece Afro-Latin electronic outfit led by Angelica Lopez and their debut E.P. "Acelere" (feat remixes from DJ Khalab, Mess Morize and Los Angeles producer Jose Marquez) is the full dance floor package. Hailing from the five corners Penya's global-future sound swirls with the flavours that each of its five players has picked-up on their trajectories. Penya encapsulates a heady blend of sumptuous carnival screamers and folkloric latin electro-punk. On the Corner's inimitable in-house art-ACE Victoria Topping has again brought the fledgling label's hi-impact phonic feasts to life visually.
