Phil Collins is an English film artist and film director and nominee for the Turner Prize. In 2013 at the Gulliver center in Cologne, Phil Collins installed a phone booth with a free line that anyone could use for unlimited local and international calls on the agreement that the conversations would be recorded and anonymised. The selected material was posted to a group of international musicians, serving as the starting point for original new songs presented as 7" vinyl records in specially designed listening booths which overlooked the city's central station. This album collects 13 tracks by international artists. Neatly set in a silkscreened gatefold sleeve, the LP comes with a booklet featuring original texts by Mark Fisher and Florian Schneider and transcriptions of some of the original telephone conversations.
