Polycool Lemon Lord

Lemon Lord is the debut album of the French band Polycool, between Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Connan Mockasin & Metronomy. Pop, dance, confetti, trout, hooded men, synth, spray, lemon, sweat, liquid, disco, love, water, sensual. A concept album, blending synth-pop coolness with heady guitar riffs and experimental instrumentations. Recorded in analog tradition, giving a uniform warm to the tracks despite their differences: the US rap in “Polywood”, the experimental electronic of “Gravitational Collapse”, the spacy outro of “John Lemon” and “Monteverità”, the tender of “Multifriends” and the groove of “Log Lady” and “Panic System” (the latter being a black hole, step brother of the Lemon Lord). This album goes hand in hand with a singular artistic creation led by the singer of the band, through vinyl artwork that includes a biblical comic on the Lemon Lord, gig posters, video clips and their absolutely genius website. In their endless universe, note the presence of a anonymous and hooded character named The Gimp (La Crampe). He pops up during live performance, throwing confetti at the crowd. He even has its own music. As well, their comic mentions another secret album made by the Lemon Lord himself during his exil… where is this all going to end?
