Soundsmith Globally Sourced EP

The debut EP from long time DJ on the London disco & house circuit Soundsmith, drawing inspiration from far and wide and showcasing some of the most infectious grooves he’s come across over the years. These four tropical heaters are made for adding a hit of spice to any blend. Opening up the EP, ‘Keep Moving’, revolves around a truly epic vocal line conjuring up feelings of late ‘70s discotheques with a modern interpretation. ‘Aye Oh’ turns the heat up with a Latin-inspired funk filled beat, complete with chanting vocals. A thumping beat keeps the momentum up through to the end. Flip it over for ‘Disco Dancer’ a straight up dancefloor heater, channeling the sounds of Bollywood disco - an underrated source of musical joy. Finally, ‘Rise Again’ closes out proceedings, an afro-funk inspired cut, this track came out of a series of studio sessions during a long and cold winter. Dubbed out vocals layered over ‘80s style synth lines are intertwined with melancholy breakdowns.
