Following the success of The Co-operators & Friends debut LP 'Rhythms from the Kitchen Sink' we have been working hard on ten brand new songs in our trade mark hand rolled style. 'Beating the Doldrums' is a concept album of sorts discussing the turmoil and struggles of life under the current system and the journey to escape its confinements. Expect dreamy rocksteady uptempo ska and more roots fire from the Waggle Dance Records stable. Although we have drawn inspiration from far and wide 'Beating the Doldrums' is a musical thank you letter to the musicians, studios, labels and producers of 60s, 70s and 80s Jamaica, some of the greatest of which have passed away this year (rip, Hux, Bob Andy, Toots and Bunny 'Striker' Lee to name a few).
