Xaver Böhm & Paul Eisenach O Beautiful Night OST

The official Soundtrack to the feature film O BEAUTIFUL NIGHT. This modern day fairy tale is Xaver Böhm’s debut and tells the story of Juri, a fearful young man, and his encounter with an eerie weirdo, who claims to be death himself. The two get drawn into a thrilling and mysterious night and encounter a bizarro-faustian trip during which Juri meets Nina and falls in love with her. But come dawn, one of them must die.
The music for the film was composed by Xaver in collaboration with Paul Eisenach. First there’s the score, that gives the gloomy city a warm glow with its shimmering sounds, featuring synths, drums, e-guitar, bariton sax or french horn, then there are various songs that were composed and produced for the many stations of the film’s wondrous journey. They seep from the jukebox of a sinister bar with dubious backrooms, the radio of a stolen Buick or out of a neon-glowing peep show cabin. These tracks are an homage to the small oases of the night and to french 70s pop, gated drums, Elvis and portuguese melancholy. They are performed by Katharina Franck, Pepe Belmonte, Xaver Böhm, screenplay co-writer Ariana Berndl and Larissa Blau.
