In 1899, Lee was established in Kansas, USA by Henry David Lee as the founder was unhappy with the quality and inconsistent delivery of workwear suppliers. In 1911, Lee started producing overalls with a multi-functional chest pocket, made from 8oz denim fabric, as well as jackets and dungarees.
