Lee Merchandise

In 1899, Lee was established in Kansas, USA by Henry David Lee as the founder was unhappy with the quality and inconsistent delivery of workwear suppliers. In 1911, Lee started producing overalls with a multi-functional chest pocket, made from 8oz denim fabric, as well as jackets and dungarees. Back in 1920, the Lee company created Buddy Lee, the famous toy dressed in a Lee overall that soon became a collector’s item. Six years later, Lee launched zip technology and designed the world’s first ever zip fly jeans. In 1944, the signature Lazy S back pocket stitching was introduced; both rear pockets showcased the shape of the ‘Long Horn’ comics. Ten years later everybody wanted to sport Lee denim pants, since James Dean wore ‘em in „Giant“, plus the y were part of Marlon Brando’s outfit in „The Wild One“. It took another 28 years until Lee cold-shouldered the workwear business and started catering into fashion cycled with fresh acid stone finished. Today, Lee is is one of the few denim companies that looks back on a long, pioneering history, whil they still deliver top notch denim goods such as the amazing 101 jeans, vintage casual tops as well as other denim highlights.
