NoBusiness Records is a record label from Vilnius, that is specialized in jazz music. It was founded by Valerij Anosov and Danas Mikailionis in 2008. In Lithuania everything is somewhat more manageable. If two with extravagant taste in music want to meet, then they meet up. Valerij Anosov and Danas Mikailionis met at the record store »Thelonious«, the only record shop in Vilnius, that offers records beyond the mainstream. This was followed by joint concerts in in Lithuania’s capital. Jazz was the smallest and largest common denominator. Jazz was the denominator. In 2008 when Mats Gustaffson played on a session organized by Valerij Anosov and Danas Mikailionis, the famous saxophonist encouraged them in their decision to found an own label. So »The Vilnius Explosion«, a replay of the performance of Mats Gustaffson together with Lithuanian musicians has been the first release of the label. Since then about 50 more releases followed. It is important for them to support the szene in Lithuania by either taking the spotlight on the Lithuanian musicians themselves or offering the opportunity for respected jazz musicians to discover Vilnius as important European location for jazz music. This way Mats Gustaffson, William Parker, David S Ware, Billy Bang, Howard Riley such as Liudas Mock?nas, Arkadijus Gotesmanas, Juozas Milasius could be immortalized on record by NoBusiness Records
