Cali-based Primitive is owned by pro skateboarder Paul Rodriguez Jr., better known as P-ROD. The dream of a boutique that catered to the skateboarder, the sneaker collector and the fashion enthusiast, became reality in 2008 when the Primitive store opened its doors. From day one the Primitive crew started to produce simple logo tees, which became popular all over the Valley area. Primitive as a brand is deeply rooted in skateboarding and encompasses all of the elements that the culture has spawned over the years. Primitive apparel is a reflection of the music, art, fashion, and most importantly individuality that the Southern California lifestyle brings, especially the Valley. This is the area where all of the Primitive folks grew up and where all lot of famous Skateboarders are rooted, as are their team riders Torey Pudwill, Paul Rodriguez, and Chaz Ortiz. They are also known as the Red Cup Crew, because partying with friends is something they really love and definitely will keep on doing. Recent collaborations include The Hundreds, Nixon, and Oakley Sunglasses.
