Gula Blend Inte Idag

Rama Lama Records (Steve Buscemi's Dreamy Eyes, Chez Ali, Melby etc.) are proud to present Gula Blend's debut album 'Inte idag'. Named after an iconic Swedish cigarette brand, Gula Blend have quickly made a name for themselves as one of Sweden's most energetic live bands, playing frequently on the Malmö scene and self-releasing a live EP. On December 11th, debut album 'Inte idag' is out both digitally and on vinyl.

The project was started by Jesper Pettersson in 2019 and ever since members have come and gone with Jesper being the constant. With their melodic, garage-tinged, indie rock Gula Blend treat the crude everyday life, good and bad relations and the simple art form of procrastinating one's well-being.

In 2019, Gula Blend self-released a double single and a live EP before taking time to work on their first full-length which will be released on Rama Lama Records. The LP features singles 'Va ifred', 'Drama', 'Finns kvar' and 'Åh Sussi'.

Spanning over eight energetic and straight-forward tracks, 'Inte idag' is a perfect introduction to Gula Blend's captivating, warped and melodic music. All of this might be the most obvious on the band's cover of Secret Service's synth classic 'Oh Susie', which have been given a garage treatment and turned into something completely else under its new name 'Åh Sussi'.

The record sees Gula Blend take their captivating indie rock to a new level, comparisons have been and will probably still be drawn to Swedish cult band bob hund's early days but Gula Blend stand out and develop that heritage. Even though the material is self-recorded, mixed and mastered by the band themselves, Gula Blend have a grand DIY-sound well rooted within a Swedish indie tradition and at the same time adding new and revitalizing classic elements.

At the moment, Gula Blend consist of Jesper Pettersson (guitar, vocals), Lukas Feurst (tambourine, song), Julia Ganesh (bass), David Leban (guitar), Oscar Johansson (saxophone) and Fredrik Dahlqvist (drums).
