According to Jeff Clayton's words: "What you have here is a collection of the earliest releases of a band made up mostly of small southern town guys trying to make a name for themselves in the "big city". With little help or guidance (with the exception of a few very influential cases) we created what became OUR sound and OUR attitude that would stay with us for four decades. Come hear the DAWN OF ANTISEEN."Limited to 600 units. For fans of GG ALLIN, DWARVES, BORED!...

[ENG"Eat More Possum" is Antiseen's most acclaimed album, originally released in 1993 and now remastered for this vinyl reissue. ANTISEEN is an American punk rock band formed in Charlotte, North Carolina by Jeff Clayton and Joe Young in 1983. The name "Antiseen" serves as a deliberate deviation of the phrase "anti-scene" - the group not wishing to adhere to standard perceptions of punk rock in specific and rock music in general. Musically, Antiseen is influenced by groups such as the Ramones and Stooges, employing short, heavily distorted power chord-driven songs largely free of guitar solos or advanced musicianship. The band has a catalogue of over 100 LPs, EPs, CDs and DVDs recorded with various line-ups and have performed all over the world. Years after crawling from the primordial ooze of rural North Carolina, Antiseen proceed to bulldoze through the nineties with one quality release after another. Eat More Possum is one of the greatest specimens of gun totin', meat eatin', society rejectin' punk rock the Young / Clayton posse ever laid to wax. Young's guitar tone is particularly grinding, heartwarming like steel cutting machinery buzzing in your ear, capped by Jeff Clayton's trademark ursine raving. Speedballs like "Star Whore" and "Storm Trooper" are like chopper territory fights set to music, while anthropological studies on southern attitudes like "Trapped in Dixie" offer miles of perspective to the unfamiliar. The vegetarian torturing anthem "Animals (Eat 'em)" may be the tastiest nugget in this pannikin of dixie nihilism, and the boys nail one hell of a Ramones cover along the way. This is an absolute must for fans of extreme punk rock ala GG Allin, Dwarves, Poison Idea, etc.

After 40 years as one of the longest running and most prolific groups in American Punk music, one could suspect that ANTiSEEN might be pretty close to running on E ... but this couldn’t be further from the truth. With their latest full length offering, Great Disasters, they aim to silence the doubters and unbelievers, and they hit their mark dead on. Their first LP since 2017’s Obstinate, Great Disasters is a filler-free, 25 minute tour de force that perfectly exemplifies the qualities that have made AntiSeen such an enduring presence in the underground. The record’s nine urgent, lively, and expertly-composed tracks range from motor-charged rippers to anthemic stompers, all brimming with the band’s ever-present Southern swagger and grit. After four decades and dozens of releases, the band is somehow sharper and more vital than ever, with all energy and twice the personality of bands half their age. This is feat is in no small part due to the band’s newly minted “ultra Line-Up," featuring mastermind Jeff Clayton, longtime collaborator SIR Barry Hannibal, and known associates Malcolm Tent and Walt Wheat. Tent’s long track record as a paragon of American outsider music both running the label Tpos and as a member of Broken Talent and the Bloody Apostles, among many others, make him a valuable asset to the new line-up. Likewise, Wheat’s decades-long stint as the guitarist of Mississippi’s Before I Hang earned him a honed edge ready-made for ANTiSEEN’s razor-sharp style of homegrown Southern Punk. And with none other than Scott “wino” Weinrich (the Obsessed, Saint Vitus etc.) lending his talents to the phenomenal cover of Steppenwolf’s “Who Needs Ya?,” Great Disasters boasts a roster whose combined credentials guarantees an absolute barn burner of a record. Where lesser bands are hobbled by the passage of time, AntiSeen only see it as an opportunity to perfect their craft. With four decades of practice under their belt, it’s no surprise that they’re masters of their trade, and Great Disasters is simply the latest piece of evidence to back their rightful claim to the throne of Destructo Rock.

Let’s not mince words—In the American punk canon, there are few acts as tenured as Charlotte, NC’s legendary ANTiSEEN. With dozens of singles, LPs, compilations, and live records to their name, choosing a definitive “best” is nigh on impossible. But if we’re going to have the conversation anyway, there’s zero question that their now classic 1996 full length Here To Ruin Your Groove is in the running. Marking a shift in both personnel and paradigm for the band, Here To Ruin Your Groove introduced Tripp McNeill and Barry Hannibal into the fold; A pair whose contributions would help shape the band’s sound for years to come. As a veteran of fellow Charlotte underground luminaries Seducer, McNeill’s metal-infused, melodic approach to bass both perfectly complemented and expanded upon ANTiSEEN’s patented brand of grimy, Southern punk rock ’n’ roll. For Hannibal’s part, his role as drummer, producer, engineer, bassist, and more has remained an integral component of the band’s makeup for the last several decades. The result of this newly minted rhythm section was a record that delivered on the raucous, irreverent punk ANTiSEEN had spent years perfecting, while broadening the band’s scope to include even more melodic flare and heavy metal flourishes. With Jeff Clayton’s singular voice and uncompromising vision anchored by the feral roar of Joe Young's buzzsaw guitar, Here To Ruin Your Groove immediately cemented its status as one of ANTiSEEN’s most compelling, hard-hitting, and lasting efforts. Lovingly reissued for the first time since 2003 as a newly remastered double LP, this deluxe edition of Here To Ruin Your Groove includes both the original record and an additional LP featuring two previously CD-only hidden bonus tracks, two singles, and six tracks from their 1997 set at the Confederacy of Scum Supershow in Lawrence, KS. Packaged in a gatefold jacket and pressed on colored vinyl, the record also includes a 16”x20” poster and a CD copy of the original 1996 version. With the painstaking attention to detail you’ve come to expect, TKO Records is proud to present the definitive version of ANTiSEEN’s Here To Ruin Your Groove. Accept no substitutes.
