Founded in 1989 by Uli Behringer, his self-titled company grew from a home-made startup to one of the largest pro-audio companies in the world. In his early years, Behringer repaired basically anything from coffee makers to TV sets in his neighborhood and established a pretty professional repair shop in his bedroom; at the age of 16, Behringer stepped up to build his own synthesizer. Both music and electronics inspired Uli to later study classical piano as well as sound engineering. Soon he realized that it was impossible to become a sound engineer without owning a studio, so he was desperately searching for equipment but as a student he wasn’t able to afford hardware for his own recording studio. After noticing the real worth of the components inside a processor, he developed his own stuff. The idea for the Behringer company to create affordable pieces was born, and hence, nobody could stop the triumph.
